Quotebitusa2012 Quotebv Some of these games seems more like "Rugby Aussie Rules" rather than football. It is all about the referee, where the line of free kicks and yellow cards is. During the Croatia vs Brazil game yesterday, there was a lot of holding, obstruction, killing of "real football", but it seemed like the referee did not bother, so the game was just killed by bruta

QuoteWild Slivovitz In the following records he always wanted a Hendrixish sounding guitar player in his band. "Live Evil", "On The Corner", and all the live albums from the mid-seventies are very good examples of this. Great records!! In his autobiography he extensively speaks about this (by the way, that's my favourite autobiography from a musician, since it extensively

The collaboration of Miles and Hendrix is well known for many years, but unfortunately never happened. Miles is telling about in his biography in 1989. They wanted to meet in London in 1970 after the Isle of Wight Festival but missed it. Highly recommend Miles‘ 38 minutes gig at Isle of Wight on YouTube with Keith Jarret and Chick Corea in the band. Great to see the reaction of the young peopl

QuoteStonesSmeth99 QuoteIrix QuoteStonesSmeth99 what is the likely time for the band being onstage? In 2014 the Stones were onstage at Waldbühne at 8:35pm - . You can find the 2022 show starts/ends in the reports - . Thank you both Usually concerts at Waldbühne have to be finished at 10pm. Don't know if there will be an exception for the Stones like years before, but it's v

Was lucky to see Memory Motel live in 1994 , August 15th at Giants Stadium. One of the best live versions they ever did. I was so thrilled. Mick played the famous piano , sitting at a keyboard. Then Keith came in and sounded so beautiful, I was freaking out. Ronnie with a nice wahwah guitar , beautiful background vocals , musically one of the best live moments I ve seen . In 1975 they toured with a hired guitar player, a percussionist who was taking over some drum parts, a keyboarder who was singing two of his own songs in the middle of the show and doing synthesizer intros for acoustic songs like Wild Horses or Angie ( just imagine the sacrilege Matt Clifford would do a string intro for Wild Horses instead of guitars ...). And till today the 1975 tour is the favo

Perhaps that was the time the horn players got their chances. Jim Price released a record in 1971 on A&M records (Kids nowadays ain‘t got no shame ). Produced by Jimmy Miller , recorded with the Stones Mobile and Nicky Hopkins, Bobby Keys , Klaus Voormann and Jim Keltner are on it .

So sad to hear. Paolo Rossi was part of two unforgettable days of my life in 1982. The Stones played two stadiumgigs in a row in Cologne at Müngersdorfer Stadium , July 4. and 5. I was blown away , two great stadium parties with all these fun people from Holland. And right in the middle of these two concerts I saw the lengedary Italy vs Brazil on tv in an Italian restaurant in colognes old town

I can recommend the American books from Hal Leonard . These „recorded versions" books are very detailed with all notes and transcriptions. Many years ago I got Exile and Some Girls. There are books from any other artists . Nothing for beginners , fun for average players. Some Girls ISBN 0-7935-3854-8 Exile ISBN 0-7935-4094-1 Have fun !

QuoteRocknroll1969 Eddie Van Halen invented that style of playing. When I first heard his playing it was incredible. Nobody did the string tapping before him. What others did does not come close to what Van Halen did. Good old Harvey Mandel did it way before him , same area , but only a very few people listened to his records ..

QuoteStoneage Maybe so, Mathijs. But I think they are in different genres of rock. Bands like Van Halen and Bon Jovi are more into hard rock or poodle rock. Which is by nature more eccentric and expressive than classic rock. More showmanship so to say. If you follow me? Haha , Van Halen were on tour in Europe in 1995 and they had a package with Bon Jovi , at last in Germany , Waldbühne Berlin

Sag shocking news . They never toured Europe regulary or big. Just here and there . Could see them with DLR in the eighties and one more time with the unpopular Van Halen III with Gary Cherone as singer. Small venue in Berlin , Germany . No glamour , just Rock’n’Roll. Eddie 5 meters away , just like a private concert. They were superstars on that tour in 1998 and they played their asses of . No b

Give the Blues Junior IV a chance . I owe this amp. It‘ s different to all other Blues Juniors . Now with a 12‘ Celestion speaker , warmer sound and better reverb. Sounds terrific with a stonesy Telecaster , works great with pedals and easy to carry. Sounds great even on bedroom levels . Tom

I feel sorry for American students. The world outside of the US doesn`t exist for many of them. Nothing knew , experienced it for many many years. The rest of the world knows the difference between these flags. I am glad it`s a Norwegian flag and not a "America comes first " flag. Greetings from Germany.

Quoteroller99 Quoteelectricmud Top list , top choices . I did see Darryl in a small club playing fusion jazz with Mike Stern on guitar and Keith Carlock on drums. Outstanding, not from this world. This is a list I expect from a musician like him. I saw him once in a small club here in Los Angeles, with the drummer from Living Color and a brilliant acoustic guitarist named Jean Paul Bourelly. I

By the time of registration I listend to Muddy Waters' Electric Mud recording. So beside Muddy there are some more Stones relations: a coverversion of Let'Spend The Night Together is on that record, it was a project of Marshall Chess ( former President of Rolling Stones Records) and Gene Barge is playing Tenor Sax (later playing sax on the 1982 tour)..enough Stones connections to end th
