QuoteEddieByword Quotekeithsman QuoteEddieByword Anybody heard anything about getting an infection twice? A friend of mine was ill about a month ago. She recovered and went back to work. Then last week her husband got it and she also got sick again............. The Health Secretary for the UK, Matt Hancock said on the BBC, last night, that the science on whether people were immune after rec

Quotednewton99 An interesting strategy that Queen just announced... full tour reschedule with almost exact same dates in 2021... If economy/situations are not better they can cancel or postpone those much later.. I think Eric Clapton has done the same (European tour May/June).

Over in Marbella, Costa del sol, Spain, construction work on new mansions may have been put on hold. But...dog walkers gardeners, security staff and maids in many areas are still seen out and about. Essential work, eh?! And Spain overall is having a very very tough time at the moment, second only to Italy I believe.

In a sense then the test has less value than the MOT annual test carried out on vehicles 3plus years old. At least with those you get 'Advisory' comments which are telling the vehicle owner of potential problems which need sorting in the short term. Though I accept that the value of a car cannot be compared to the value of someones life. Though a faulty car can kill, quite obviously.

My father in law was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 1980 and he lived for a further 15 years. At the time of his diagnosis the prognosis was 2 to 4 years. He was a very modest man despite being the youngest of 13 children and becoming a Family Solicitor (eventually managing his own practice). Not for him the University route, he had to study in the evenings, often in the family bathroom! (

This may seem like a silly question but suppose I had a test and the results showed that all is well, how soon would I have to re-test. I assume they are only accurate for the day in question.

Quotegotdablouse Townsend is on a roll (from rs.com) : "The other thing I’ve done is looked at the possibility of starting work early — I was going to do this next year — but starting work early on writing new songs for another Who album, as the last one did so well." Good to hear and heartbreaking when you're a Stones fan of course but did their latest album really do "so

QuoteRisingStone QuoteHairball So it doesn't quite look like the journalist himself is being lazy by saying it's better than anything on Tempest, but he's simply stating that's what other people are saying - and I happen to be one of those people. While reading the Guardian review, I didn’t get the impression that the “journo” was either lazy or ignorant. On the contrary, I

QuoteTopi In Finland, the lockdown measures have been extended by a month, up until mid-May at this point. Restaurants and bars are closed until the end of May, but they are allowed to serve take-out and delivery food. The province of Uusimaa including the Helsinki capital region closed its borders, the big idea is to contain the virus here where the most ICU beds are anyway and where the h

Quotebv QuoteVoodooLounge13 For me, personally, I am taking this time to learn about and invest in the stock market here in the US. Something I've been meaning to get back into for several years now, and this downturn has been the key trigger for me. At one point in time this spring/summer the stock market will be at the very bottom. If you get the right stocks then, you are in for some g

Its interesting to note the downward trend in the various prediction models. So the US from 2.2 million to 200,000 And in the UK 500,000 to 20,000. The models took into account the measures imposed by Governments. No time for complacency of course (especially in regards to third world countries).

QuoteMAF Just found this written in the news: Dr. Anthony Fauci (NIAID) told CNN "State of the Union": Millions of Americans will be infected with the coronavirus and 100,000 to 200,000 will die. The predictions (same in the UK) come with lots of caveats of course, the impact of measures taken etc. Hence the wide ranging figures. No one can predict with any degree of confidence.

My brother tells me he has heard of a scientific report which states that due to 'cleaner air' / less pollution at the current time, there may be less premature deaths. The number may even exceed the number of deaths from coronavirus. Speculative, of course.

QuoteSockers56 Ok, I'm not the best at Math. My wife is from Peru. The population is about 30,000,000. They have about 650 confirmed cases. What % is that & what is the formula? Thanks! The worldometer site gives you the answer. Cases: divide number by total population (note, the number of cases is almost certainly understated, by how much will vary from country to country). So off

Quotecrholmstrom Interesting article about University of Washington model of the pandemic in the US. They project there will be 81000 deaths in the US from the virus. We will hope that this projection doesn't come true. The details of how they came up with the number are in the article along with some other interesting & scary items. File under: Tabloid speculation. In reality, no one knows what donations have been made except where those concerned have chosen to make public their 'contribution'. Or via their own registered charity (as in the case of The Estate of George Harrison). For all we know, Stones Inc and/or The Directors may well have gifted some monies.

Total cases in the US now 83144, so overtaking China. Presumably this figure, as in most countries significantly understates the true situation.

My guess (or, one of my guesses) is that the long pause since Tempest (i.e. releasing new original stuff) may also have to do with his Nobel prize in 2016. Can you elaborate please?

There seems to be some confusion over the Statistics, especially re the situation in Italy. At today's date: -Total cases = 69176 -Total deaths = 6820....so roughly 10% mortality rate. Clearly not all Cases have been recorded. In addition there is obviously a lag between new cases recorded and deaths. As horrendous as these figures are, if Italy has 'passed the peak'( which

QuoteNate QuoteChris Fountain In my honest opinion, this is nothing more than overblown case of media induced paranoia. The Flu has subsided in China and South Korea. On and on. When they show 20,000 deaths versus 5 billion folks on earth then I have to question as with the population explosion a number like 20k doesn't frightened me from a statistical standpoint. YES it is Sad

Quotebitusa2012 I read this tonight in a business magazine: “Trump is growing anxious that the plummeting stock market could cost him his re-election bid, according to the Washington Post. The president has long touted the economy as his main argument for reelection. The pandemic threatens to upend that dynamic.” I reckon he’s more concerned with the value of everything he holds dear. The official line here in Australia - as frequently mentioned by our Prime Minister - is at least SIX MONTHS. And, he's most probably right. I thought his judgement, certainly in regards to climate change was not very good?!
