QuotesluissieQuotejloweThis old chestnut is getting more media scutiny. What are the Stones current views, do they have any? Class B or retain as Class C or legalise ? (the latter option will never happen, of course) "THE" law of course doesn't exist... Who's law do you mean? In the Netherlands we do not have class C or B crimes, and cannabis is still legal, to a cert

Have there been any official DVD or video releases made which include any of the group's appearances (mid 1960's)? I believe Dave Clark owns the rights to the shows and has released some complilations. Didn't they have a show all to themselves on one occasion? Also with Top of the Pops - other than what was included in the 25 x 5 documentary - have any of their promos had a r

QuoteAddictedA man who plays droms as well as Charlie, should never be forced to sing. And he's the sharpest dresser in the business, too! Even Keith's impressed. But Phil Collins sings!!

QuoteAddictedOne can't help admiring people like the Dunn's and Jane Rose, her in particular, for their loyalty through decades. When everyone else just ran off (like in Toronto in '77), she stayed and gave her support. She's had a few really hard times working for Keith (and formerly for the entire band), but she's still there. Sometimes she even tells him: Now, cut the

QuotedphThe version that was considered for release in the '90 began with a segment featuring... Chris Jagger! He walks down the street, filmed in 1992 I think, thinking he's going to the show at the Marquee, mentions Mick Taylor, etc. Then at the end he realizes it isn't 1971 anymore. I like the show quite a bit but it's pretty obvious that the applause and crowd are bot

QuoteTseverinI thought the initial idea of a third volume was ditched before volume 2 came out hence vol 2 came right up to date instead. Remember all the stuff about meeting Keith after a recent NY show & about life in Columbia & producing new bands etc... It's true that there are some more recent activities mentioned, but from what I can recall the detail on for example: the part

Alan Dunn must now be the longest serving Stones associate..over 40 years I would imagine. Does anyone know much about him? I gather Arnold -brother? also works for the band. Has he ever done any interviews? I think he started off as Micks PA/Driver when the Ned Kelly film was being made in Australia. Must be due his pension now!

Is there any chance that the film of the concert will get an official release - say DVD or home video. Is it being held up because of "Abcko difficulties" or were the group unhappy with their performance. I assume that the Director/Producer - I think it was the guy who made the Beatles Let It Be film isn't the problem (as with, to some extent the CS Blues film)

I gather that Oldham has fallen out with his publishers so Volume 3 is shelved. However, I understand he has recently incurred heavy legal costs over some of his claims re Immediate royalties (he lost), so maybe some day it might hit the shelves. Would love to know what he really thinks of Allen Klein. Also an update on Phil Spector - given the latters more recent publicity.

Actually, the interview was I recall also included in one of 2 paperbacks which Rolling Stone published in the mid 70's. I have one of the volumes in my loft somewhere. Its called The Best of Rolling Stone interviews - I think. They could be available through Amazon or perhaps Helter Skelter -though of course long out of print. Excellent interviews - the cream of late 60's and early 7

Any chance of Keith's 1977 Toronto tapes seeing the light? Have any been bootlegged or re-recorded for Stones albums or appeard on compilations. I believe they were a mixture of his own work and standards, some country ones. Would be fascinating to hear 'em

Perhaps Pete will now progress work on his long mooted autobiography. When his "child porn" case was news, his Lawyers argued that he was gathering information / doing research for his book. I'm not very good on dates, but this must be over 5 years ago. He has been connected with book publishing via his work with Faber and Faber for a long time so is hardly a novice in the literary

QuoteHis MajestyI watched it last night for the first time. My god what a terrible film! I'm so glad I didn't give in to curiosity before and buy the DVD! Anyway, an over weight asmatic, with heart and liver issues, swimming under the influence of some drink and sleeping tablets during a cloudy humid night in a hot swimming pool is a recipe for disaster. Whilst the afore-mentioned

3977. Re: Hello
And good-bye from me. I'm off to watch the Michael Barrymore Death in a swimming pool TV documentary. Drugs, sex, death, but no pretty girls or rock'n roll I suspect. "It's all show biz" - to quote Dr.John Winston O'Boogie.

Many thanks CindyC. I have re-read the interview after a gap of 37 years! I remember buying the edition from a newstand near Picadilly, London. I got to know the guy at the newstand quite well during my brief working stay in the capital. "He's quite mad you know, pointing to the picture of Keith on the cover" he said, "although the others are o.k." Wonderful and honest!

I thought they had an Annual General Meeting in London each summer, perhaps Keith just sends a representative. PS That must be a rug he's wearing! Shades of Elton John (sorry to bring up that old debate again).

Thanks sssoul for the clarification. I had thought it was 1967 as that was the date when ALO left the Stones (Satanic Majesties time) to work full-time on Immediate Records. I thought it was then that Klein paid ALO (?£1 MILLION)for his "share". Was this to do with the recording rights/masters as distinct from music publishing. Again am I right in thinking the Stones thought they had

Quotewith sssoul>> thanks to ALO and Uncle Andrew. No wonder Mick has never forgiven either of them << sorry but by "ALO and Uncle Andrew" do you mean ALO and Allen Klein? and the rights they lost didn't "slip through the net". they were brutally ripped off. i believe the polite term for it is "aggressive takeover". Yes, of course its Allen K

Quote21stcenturystonesNow let's remember this about Mick and Keith. They still own their publishing. Macca sold most of his, thus worth quite a bit more. That's still not a bad living. Actually Mick and Keith do not own their music publishing- only their post 1972 material. The real golden nuggets are owned by Mr Allen Klein. They didn't even "sell" them as far as I am a

Well, Keith obviously has too much spare time on his hands. The others (excluding Charlie who presumably has no such demons) keep themselves busy with projects. Perhaps Keith should become an ambassador for UNICEF or similar for a year.Being an old man is fine, but a grumpy old man is something else...

Was one Diane Cory -before she met Bill and married around 1959. Along came son Stephen and then separation in 1967 and divorce 2 years later. It appears she left Bill (and a life of un dreamed luxury to live in South Africa. Not sure if she remarried. Bill got custody, unusual for a man in those days, even more so being a rock star. Does any one have news of her? I have a feeling she may have

QuoteiamthedjJust finished Clapton's biography and there's no mention of an affair. Also Nurreyev was apparantly not interested in Jagger at all despite Mick bombarding him with flowers and invitations to dinner. When they did meet Nurreyev was very rude. So I doubt they had an affair. It's probably just as well they didn't have an affair. When Nurreyev found out he had AIDS

I may have got this wrong but I read an item the other day that inferred that Linda Keith's dad was one Alan Keith. He was a BBC Radio 2 (formerly Light programme)broadcaster and had a career lasting over 60 years. He died in 2003 aged 94 and was still doing broadcasts which made him probably the oldest regular broadcaster at the time. His brother was one David Kossaf- who did quite a lot o

Well, Bill's Rythmn Kings have done a few shows, Ronnie as confirmed above also and I have a feeling Charlie may have appeared some time ago. Keith is certainly not averse to guesting on others' albums, so perhaps one day he will turn up "as one of the backing band". Ry Cooder + Support (incl KR) - now there's a thought.
