If anyone knows of a better public collection of Stones (or Rock) memoriabilia, then please let me know, I'd like to see it. There was a Museum of Popular Music in Sheffield, Yorkshire some years back, but it was pretty short-lived.

Whilst shamefully Bobby Jameson "never received a penny" no doubt Messrs Oldham/Richards/Klein continue to get income. That's show biz! The Small Faces didn't receive any royalties from their 60's hits until a few years ago via court order. Steve Marriott didn

I notice that the DECCA 45 record has Essex/Lord Andrew as the publisher. Presumably now part of the Abcko copyrights.

Does anybody know anything about this film? Made around the mid 60's I think. The Stones role is just a concert clip -I think.Referred to in Roy Carr's Illustrated Record book (which Ive mislaid)

One of her first films was "Here we go round the mulberry bush"-about 1967 and filmed around the (then) new town of Stevenage, North London. Music included one Steve Winwood and Traffic -I think they are actually seen playing it live. Must have been just after he left Spencer Davies Group. Probably something of a period piece but I recall captured the spirit of the times (swinging lond

I suppose it would be quite difficult to get a very concrete answer/assessment. Being a "fair" employer doesn't just mean salary levels-as we all know from our own experiences. Loyalty to ones employer doesn't on its own imply anything as I'm sure there are political obsessives, for example, out there, who work around the Westminster village and will put up with all sorts

I'm posting this from work, so this is all from memory: London locations as a topic is probably referrd to in one of the reference books and of course other websites. Try the Rough Guide book, if you have a copy. Here are some others: Group offices: 5 Church Row, Wandsworth Plain Former offices:include Maddox Street (the last visible one; also Munroe Street) Bill: Ripple Records are ba

QuoteBluzDude...and Charlie was left out? If you check out the rocksoff website (links on this thread) there is a picture of Charlie-and Shirley (?) attending an Arabian horse show in tne South of France. By the way, I may be touring the area late summer -after the holiday madness is over. Does Charlie still have a holiday home there? I don't intend to pop in if he does but I would be intri

May 1966:- "ina major acquisition the film rights to the novel "Only Lovers Left Alive" was purchased by Allen Klein for the Rolling Stones. The Stones are to join that affluent acting society peopled by such chosen people as Richard and Elizabeth Burton who command $1million per film. The group already surrounded with astronomical earnings from concerts and records......etc ALO

Apologises for the delay. Try the link www.timesonline.co.uk Then search "michael cohl" and the story -written by one Suzy Jagger(!) will give you the info. It is dated 21 June - so further searches on Google might give you the very latest

QuoteBaboon BroQuoteBritneySounds like the usual Oldham popfodder. Are you sure Mick & Keith are involved in this recording? Oldham was (is?) a genius. He just gave the people what they wanted, at that time. ALO a genius? I don't persoannly think so. His productive career was very short-lived (1963-late 60's). Other than the Stones and Immediate he hasn't really done a grea

Thanks sssoul. Yes - I see your point.Judging from the way things went with Immediate years later it doesn't seem as though finance and business management were his strong point (or overiding concern) anyway. Sorry to bang on about Eric E- any knowledge of what happened to his legal battles? He seems to have been airbrushed out, though Bill Wyman obviously-at least judging from his books

Dear sssoul. I think I'm fairly familiar with the 1965 "changes" but can you clarify: - did Impact cease in 1965 - did Eric E ever get paid out (he sued ALO though later the Stones sued him); his management contract actually had 9 months to run - although the Stones seemed to be unaware of the sleight of hand by Klein, how much was ALO in the loop, after all he seems to have lo

QuoteAdrian-LQuote1cdogI think cheap hair implants can have bad repercussions. Elton John and many other artists have had implants that have worked out well. I don't know why Keith does not spend the extra $$ and have it done right? he should have a chat with Bono. Elton's surgery - around the late 70's was not a success. That's why he wears what in effect are an adv

According to the BBC Radio 4 programme Today, 20 June 08 marks the 60th. anniversary of the long playing record. The format still survives-just. Columbia records (US)were right there at the beginning. The first "demonstration" lasted all of 22 minutes. That might have been the length of some of the early releases.Chuck Berry's I would imagine!

I'm not competent enough to download any photos but if you click /search Anita on Google the first link will show a series of over 20+ images mainly taken since 2002 - including some great ones with Marlon. Otherwise the usual crowd: Marianne/Kate Moss/Sadie and Stella Mc...some also date to 1982 when she doesn't look in the best of health. She is still very photogenic...oddly in the re

Maybe Brian was in Cannes because the film which he did the score for - and Anita had a part in - was showing at the film festival at the time. It might make sense then. Still after what had gone on during their trip to N Africa not many months before, it does seem suprising. But then, that's show biz, folks!

QuoteThe JokerNice pick, Rockman, as always. Just check in the Rolling Stones first 30 years book. It reads Anita flew with Brian from Athens to Cannes on 17th May. Keith is said to have crossed Europe in one week with his car to join them. A bit weird, thinking Anita had broke up with Brian two months earlier. Who is the Bentley's chauffeur? Mr Tom Keylock -perhaps

QuoteangeeYes, not to be O/T too much, when the wind blows Mick's hair back, his hairline looks much more like Keith's in the picture above, though not that extreme. If you have someone good at coloring, the hair can look at least somewhat natural, like Mick's does. Yes -but why does Mick dye his hair?? Has he ever been asked this in interviews?? He's obviously not botherer

QuoteDoxaInteresting film. With her face impressions, smiles, eye-moves, etc. she has some kind of 'familiar' charisma... I don't know which way the influence went, but I can see Brian, Keith, and Mick on her. She has that magical "Rolling Stone" touch whatever it is (she is pretty, but somehow she also creates her own kind of cuteness, in terms of her own, if you know wh
