QuoteStonesTod QuoteLeonidP I've already possibly gone a complete year without listening to a Stones song. cool. is this intentional? are you protesting? do you have new girlfriend who forbids you to listen to satan's music? how much longer do you think you can hold out? Not really intentional ... After Bridges album they didn't have any new material for a while and I just wen

Quotesweet neo con Hey Helter...quit misquoting me by adding to my post (see above - highlighted in red). Seriously, check into anger management or don't be so ultra-sensitive about your posts (specifically the threads you start.....that go nowhere..then you "bump" them or scold people for no contributing....??). And adding to people's posts to change their original sta

Quotemckalk Are there any songs that come to mind where they sing dual lead vocals? I think that is what I am hearing on "Connection", but I can't think of any others right now. Connection is still a Mick vocals, Keith backup vocals - just Keith is a little more pronounced than normal. But as there are portions where it is just Mick singing, he is the lead. BTW, I've notice

Quotemtaylor QuoteEdith Grove When was the last time Mick stayed on stage during Keith's solos, and why does he not do that anymore? Began changing 1981? Mick wants a rest. They could keep Happy as a Mick and Keith singing and then Keith could sing one of his own without Mick. Eggzactly, that's when they began increasing the stage time from close to 2 hours to 3+ hours, so Mick needs

I did originally like Out Of Tears ... and never did feel it with Streets Of Love. I think the main reason for me is that they are too similar, and it kind of annoyed me that they re-did almost the exact same song. I guess they're both similar to Almost Hear You Sigh so I'm not sure why I didn't get annoyed with OOT to begin with -- perhaps sub-conscientiously i was annoyed they ac

QuoteStonesTod QuoteLeonidP Quoteskipstone I think the Stones should stay away from reggae - it's way too complicated for them to do right. Yes, these are only some of the well-known reggae artists that agree: Toots & the Maytals Peter Tosh Bob Marley Wingless Angels Max Romeo Yet for some reason they've played with, gave tribute to, gave high praises etc. to the Stones

QuoteEdward Twining I find Hide Your Love quite addictive over repeated listens. In fact it now seems to be one of my favourites off Goats Head Soup... the weird thing is that Hide Your Love and Can You Hear the Music were the 2 songs I tended to skip on Goats Head, but now I love both of them. i think they're both addictive.

QuoteJJFlash2010 Yeah, LeonidP, I wasn't sure when listening to the 83 cd again if it had that extra verse from the old cassette(the original tape was U.S. issue btw), wasn't aware of the import thing either.... is it the import cd that has the extra verse, or vinyl, or both? Actually I'm not sure. I only ever had the US vinyl and read on this board once about the import version

QuoteJJFlash2010 The original cassette release also had an extra verse sung by Keith on Wanna Hold You that wasn't on the vinyl album. didn't know that was on the cassette, but yes, the US vinyl version was missing a verse ... the complete version is on the import versions.

QuoteWinning Ugly VXII All Down the Line is not overrated. It's probably underrated. So true. It's the Stones at their best ... and to me, it's up there with the best rock songs of all time.

Quotebassplayer617 Ronnie has some great solo records. He sure does! I'd have to take his solo records over both Mick's & Keith's, if I had to choose.

I think my all-time top obscure track is Jump On Top Of Me. I also love Everything's Turning To Gold & Thru The Lonely Nights, as others pointed out. Let It Rock is also a superb track.

Kleermaker, first you said 'He's out' without any clarification or fundation. Then people ofcourse asking you questions and then again, very selfconfident, that he was out at tha

QuoteCome On Me Myself I is into Bills solo-stuff. Monkey Grip is the best Stones album since 'Let it Bleed'. Most of Bill's solo stuff is crap. Stone Alone is ok and Monkey Grip is much better, but Bill is easily the worst, and most uninspired vocalist of all time.

QuoteRik keys to your love it's amazing how bad some of their songs can be, specifically this one! i'm also not a fan of Back To Zero and Neocon. Other funky songs like Suck On the Jugular and Sex Drive are almost as bad. (Not saying I don't like funky songs... i love Fingerprint File, for example)
