Yeah, I had to go back and make sure myself. It was the very next Stones broadcast on Ed (the Paint It Black, etc one) that they started using pre recorded backing tracks with live vocals.

As Tears Go By and 19th Nervous Breakdown both performed live on Ed Sullivan 2-13-66. The strings on "Tears" I'm assuming are performed by Ed's studio orchestra as Keith's guitar and Mick's vocals are both obviously live..

No. sad to say I didn't. I guess at that young age I just didn't think about preserving things! Just like it never occurred to me to take a cassette recorder into Will Rogers Aud. in 78. Sitting nearly dead center on the front row of the balcony, I would have been in a perfect position(I know now!). I collected boot LPs in the mid 70s but it was not until the 90s that I really got into

THe only thing that has always concerned me is the Barbarians sbs have a tendency to sound a bit too clean and sterile (maybe because you don't hear too much aud) I like the Cincinnati sb the best out of the boots. I think that's why I enjoy the FW boot so much(plus the fact I was there!). The quality is quite nice for a 1979 aud tape and it captures the energy from the stage and the au

well, it is entirely possible that my old sleepy ears may have paraphrased a bit in my memory but yeah,Dean I thought all of those involved with the show sounded a bit ignorant..

I heard this author promoting the book on "The Jim Bohanon" show last night(accidently just because this comes on right before C2C) and while commenting and taking call-in questions, I was amazed at how many inaccuracies and just old rumours that his answers consisted of. Most of what he said about Altamont came from reading Barger's book (he admits this) and a conversation with Sa

well, they credit "Boogie With Stu" to all 4 of themselves plus Ian Stewart plus Mrs. Valens so I don't think they were being that generous. If they were they would have given it all to her. Seems like they would take the time to research and credit her actual legal name if they were being serious..

Quotesbetz Aren't the true soundboards from the '99 tour in mono or is one or two in stereo? every sb I've heard from the 99 usa trek is terrible (with Keith being nearly non existent..maybe it was Ronnie's IEM?) I've heard some sb/aud matrix discs that are pretty nice..by the way, I can personally vouch for OKC 99 being a killer show..It was the best one I've seen

there was no "alternate" aud recording avail. at the time of the SM/Turd anniversary release which the Tarantula release is a direct dub of.

The "Liver" source uses by Tarantula (for the second show) is a direct copy of Turds/SM Anniversary years ago. It even has identical "repairs" on the drop-outs that they did. Of course that's something that bootleggers have done many times but on their extensive liner notes they go on and on about all the effort they put into it which is total bs..

well, I think its a much better cover than say, "I've Been Loving You Too Long" (dubbed live noise on studio outtake for Got Live) Talk about weak vocals, Mick sounds horrible...or he should at least performed it in a lower key...

QuoteNoCode0680 The search is over, I can stop carving Boogie amps out of my mashed potatoes. I've never heard the show actually, just a few bits and pieces. Years ago I downloaded a bootleg of it, there may be better sources available now, or even then. But it wasn't anything I was interested in hearing, especially because Taylor was pretty much non-existent in the mix. And the r

I bought it the day it was released in 1973 (still have it too) and speaking for the US release YES, it was censored. As you point out, it sounded as if it was triple tracked right at the "pussy clean" line making it hard to understand.

know there are lots of different opinions on the "Mickboy' series but I have to admit his 1999 "restructure" of TSMR is very entertaining and a favorite listen of mine....here's the tracklist: 1.Sing This Song Altgether 2.Citadel 3.Dandilion 4.In Another Land 5.2000 Man 6.Child Of The Moon 7.Cosmic Christmas 8.She's A Rainbow 9.The Lantern
