it was just crazy to me, because id never heard charlie play a solo beyond little fills between songs. And its awesome because from watching that I know he could kick any kids ass with that little gretsch kit.

QuoteAmsterdamned "He sometimes uses the mixolydian mode, which is basically a minor mode that sounds more rocky." Maybe insignificant, but the mixolydian mode is a major scale with a flat 7. It's certainly no minor scale.Might be a bit misleading for a beginner... yup thats what I meant thanks. Yeah its major but more rock and roll, and less country twangy like if you only use

Ronnie plays mostly in the major/minor pentatonic scales. He sometimes uses the mixolydian mode, which is basically a minor mode that sounds more rocky. The root notes are highlighted in black. A really good example is angie from paris 1976: His solo on the 40 licks dvd is most likely jumping between a c major and c minor pentatonic scale. He starts in the minor pentatonic going from the r

I enjoy the byrds/beach boys harmonies on surprise surprise and this life. My lucky day is great, but a little to reminescent of a U2 song for my taste. I actually like woad, though I didn't think if fit at the superbowl. The wrestler has a good organic sound to it, kinda a Nebraska feel to it. I just wish they would put a little more guitar and drums, and a little less horns and keyboards i

Personally I think the stones need to take a look at some of the stuff springsteen is doing. The cheesy request signs from his last tour actually ended up creating some of the most spontaneous shows in years, and would do wonders for a stones show, while the stones have a far more intense back catalogue, it would definitely keep them on there feet. Springsteen plays long shows that please his fan

I would say springsteens ahead of ac/dc. I doubt either the stones or acdc could pull a 3 night stand at giants stadium anymore. Springsteens got both of them on being spontaneous and giving people what they want, while still pleasing himself. he even takes fan requests to keep him on his feet.

I remember at the second show sbc 2005 mick and ronnie had an exchange about what seemed to be ronnies soberiety, and the cup in his hand. Mick took the cup, and threw it away. I wish I could have heard what they said.

drift away, or sympathy for the devil. Long as their is a lot of fire, the opening song doesn't really make a difference to me. I care more about the meatier part of the setlist. The opening is always gonna be a "warhorse."
