Quote35love My H went to a Manchester United game at Levi Stadium few years ago now but the parking, I was told over over over so bad so late for event Get a room for the night and walk, I say. Parking situation is more sorted out now, they definitely had some growing pains like when they were having people park on the golf course

QuoteWoz Quotedaspyknows Quotetimbernardis QuoteWoz It will be good to see the Stones in Oakland again! It may not be Oakland, but the City or Santa Clara. plexi Hopefully not Oakland but SF or Santa Clara. Oakland Coliseum is a shithole, awful traffic getting there and they rip you off every way possible, from parking to what you can bring in. I'm hoping for SF or Oakland. Getti

Quotekeefriff99 QuoteMelBelli Quotekeefriff99 QuoteMelBelli Quotekeefriff99 What the hell led the Stones to play THREE shows in East Troy, Wisconsin, of all places? Seems like a very odd and random spot to play three gigs, let alone one. They hadn’t toured in eight years. Demand was off the charts. Tickets were still affordable. I get that, but it's still such a strange part of a relative

It's always fun watching clips of these guys jamming, also a good reminder of how much the Stones sound comes from their fingers not their instruments and amps! Backline crew jam Twickenham 2018 video:

When was the last time they did a same day double header? The only artist I'm aware of that still frequently does in arenas or stadiums is Garth Brooks.

This has been brought up in other threads, but I believe modern Keith's guitar tone does not sound thin to him, the reason for the increase in treble is those are typically the first frequencies to be lost in age and noise related hearing loss. To someone standing in front of 2 high power twins for the last 30 years and even bigger amps before that, the modern keith ice pick-ish tele bri

Quotekeithsman Keith trying something different on Sympathy in this rehearsal on the second solo , i'm not a musician but this is working much better for Keith, any of you guitarists know whats happening here, DP where are you Second solo he's noodling in the E minor pentatonic an octave lower than he was before, which allows more use of the open strings. Can play a lot of cool l

Shine a Light There's a funny Mick interview somewhere where he was trying to run through it before dueting with Bonnie Raitt, and he recalls he wrote it on piano so it "must be in C"...guess he never got around to learning the circle of fifths!

Guitar players: This is very exciting for anyone who is a fan of modern(post '89) Keith's tone. They've never reissued these and I think Keith and JB own most of the originals that are still in working order! Anyone who's been in the first few rows on Keith's side knows how blissful these sound when fully throttled: Joe Bonamassa '59 Twin

Wonder where they got this idea? Rodeo Houston Star Stage Garth gives a tour of the new stage Bummer to see they don't mention the Stones at all in the press release. Wonder if Garth will come down from the point like Mick.

Found out what happened to Dave: This might explain the recent Brad/Stones connections. Edit: Also I remember reading about this somewhere, but BP let Dave propose to his girlfriend onstage opening for the Stones in Nashville, its about 20 seconds in: video:

This was from Stones week on Fallon. Sheryl Crow did All Down the Line, Green Day did Rip this Joint, and Phish sang Loving Cup. Keith Urban regularly covers the Stones and other classic rock. Last time I saw him he opened a B-stage set with a killer "Wont Get Fooled Again."

Eric Church just released a cover of Feat's Dixie Chicken featuring Chuck Leavell as part of his massive 90 song live itunes playlist. Great playing by Chuck: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MQaAy_mRCA EC played a different location/city specific cover song every night of the 61 show spring leg of the tour, some went well, some trainwrecked. Wish the Stones would try to pull that o

I don't mind the overdubs so much. The first obvious one is where Keith clearly hits second part of the opening riff at the 6th fret on his way down to the 5th where it should be. Theres plenty of raw audience filmed youtube videos for us to nerd out on, I don't mind a few polished ones like this to add to the live playlist I put on the TV for party music. This is one of the better

Ive been an IORRian for over 10 years, typically a silent non-contributer, but... You guys are all forgetting something super important. We all as fans get to go see(or watch on youtube) the guitar player that created the sound and the riffs we all love, play our favorite songs, even some on Micawber(which is a piece of wood more legendary than most humans). I'm a guitar player too. Iv

Most live pop and country tours are using some form of pitch correction onstage, and many have admitted to it publicly(Tim McGraw and Faith Hill among others). The way it works live is as someone said earlier, it pulls you towards the nearest semitone, the "intensity" is how quickly it "bends" the note your are singing to the correct note. If you keep this speed/intensity sett

QuoteRollingFreak But Bruce has always been a different show than the Stones. The Stones give you the show you want, Bruce gives you the show he feels you deserve. As Jon Stewart says, he empties the tank for you and he makes every show unique and feel like he's 100% with you. The Stones, while amazing, are the epitome of not that. They give you a kickass show, but its what you expect from t

They make IEM's molded with different levels of isolation. I would guess that mick has molds that let in very little outside noise, so any room noise can be provided by the ambient mics pointed over the crowd. I vaguely remember seeing an interview with one of their 2013 guests (maybe Keith Urban?) who said they have a very hot stage volume that makes it a challenge to guest perform with

QuoteMisterDDDD Detroit Tigers. More shameless attempts at getting the rabid sports fans on the Rolling Stones bandwagon. I know some people are OK with it, these sports teams are HUGE in these relatively smaller cities but I can't deny my whole distaste with the correlation between the sports teams and the Stones. Not only does the music have nothing to with these teams or sports in general

They are definitely bringing him to the front of the mix in a few places, maybe louder than I have ever heard, but also riding the faders to eliminate how many "bum" notes the audience hears. The stones have a very busy FOH guy, every time mick points his mic at the crowd(over the floor wedges) it has to get cut, keith has to be brought up and down in the right places. The stones us
