Err...well it's 95% mono, there is virtually no left/right to speak of, very unnatural to listen to on headphones. Going back to the 15/12 PPV now that I've listened to Clapton, Lady Jane and Florence.

QuoteIn the candid interview with the Evening Standard earlier this year, Sally admitted that she's not really a fan of the age difference between her and her husband-to-be. You bet...I know you live for the present but it can't be too pleasant to know for sure that you'll be the one left holding the stick :-(

So that's it ? I'm not impressed, I guess it's a decent mono recording with some added crowd noise buried deep...not a very pleasant listen on headphones. I'll take the PPV in full stereo over that any day with the full separation on the guitars. Only of interest to hear what was unique to that night, i.e. Clapton and Florence Welsh. It makes the alarmist "review"

QuoteLieB I don't know anything about Doxa "leaving", but anyone who feels the need to make some kind of bold official exit should instead just take this forum (and every other forum) less seriously, have a break, cool down and come back -- or not come back -- entirely to his or her choice. A Wood-Jagger song...according to Philip Norman Mick convinced Ronnie of giving up his credit on IORR and he would give up his on Fire, a bit of a bum deal...I suppose Ronnie sensed that sacrifice would come in handy one day ;-)

ok, I'm not sure the 1080p would be any better, this was a live broadcast and these days (as opposed to the 2006 World Cup for instance) they prioritize image smoothness (no macroblocking) over image sharpness. SDH's original recording was in 720p too, which is a bit odd since I'm not aware of 720p broadcasts, but again that probably wouldn't make much of a difference.

Ah let's go take a look! Dunno about that "Keith plays bum notes all the time"...I'm pretty aware of bum notes generally and I didn't hear too many in the pit on the 25th, at the Trabendo, in Bondy on the 8th or at the PPV...yeah there were a few : 25th (HTW and GS was not great, a lot better at the PPV), Bondy (THSMLI) and PPV (solo in Satisafaction) but you read that

And as usual from our resident expert a great plus for the discussion with the token definitive statement, moving on... @seitan - don't remember reading that in Life but I'll look it up. @stupidguy2 - thanks for pointing out these tracks, they do sound rather good.

Thanks for the summary, looks like I caught the most exciting one in the best spot then ;-) Quick question on the sound, the PPV had a very unusual mix for the Stones (at least since 1982) in that you could actually hear the bass, was it the case inside the arena too or would you say it was the same as at the O2 where the bass only stood out during the Miss You solo ?

Yes, tough to make it sound as good for 20000 people as for two speakers, I was wondering more about the bass actually, could it be heard as well in the arena as on TV? There again probably not because even on the 25th at the O2 where the sound was terrific, at least in the pit, you could hardly make out the bass. Now is that a limitation of propagating sound in a large arena or a choice the S

sounds interesting, what's that "a.m. 5GB file" ? The SDH 5.1 version ?

Well it was certainly a very unusual mix for the Stones, i.e. the bass could be heard properly for the first time since...1981? BTW we already have a very good thread discussing this in detail ;-) The unanswered question in that thread is whether the sound inside the arena was the same as on TV...

So Keith would be bouncing stuff off of Steve Jordan who helps him flesh out his ideas and gets a credit? Seems pretty generous to me...I mean both Keith (Sparks will fly) and Mick (Sad, Sad, Sad and Hold on to your hat) have said that they worked with Charlie to get these songs right and he didn't get a credit? I guess that may have been overruled because the songs fell in the Jagger-Richar

OMS is credited to Jagger/Richards/Jordan, like "Almost Hear You Sigh" before that. One has to wonder what Jordan contributed though since you'd think that Mick would have rewritten most of the lyrics...alhtough it seems he ran out of time since the second part is devoid of any lyrics ;-) Ronnie hasn't received a credit since Dirty Work unless I'm mistaken and at the t

As the discussion has come up a few times lately, with some saying that Jordan is behind OMS, have Keith or Steve Jordan ever been asked how they worked together ? The most likely scenario would be that SJ edits Keith's ideas. Although looking at "Talk is Cheap" the "edition" wasn't exactly stellar at least in the lyrics department (Stuggle for instance). So has anything more substantial surfaced on this Mick interview on Norwegian TV ? Was it made in the US last week possibly? Are you sure it was not an interview of BV ? ;-) Quote24FPS Quotegotdablouse What "first concert" ? Ah ok, the first concert in 1963, ok. Yeah has to be. Anyway I called Bravado after thinking that maybe these emails I was getting were somehow automated as they really didn't make a lot of sense... So I got through to a kind lady called Alexanda (probably not Keith's daughter) and the good news is that the holdup was the "London Map" T-Shirt that was a "pre-order" for some reason and therefore not

Wow, dealing with the people at Bravado is like pulling teeth : - they can't answer a simple question - don't know when anything shown as "in stock" on their site, but not in fact "in stock", will eventually be in stock... - find it normal that they charge your CC upfront although they have no idea when your order will ship - don't know how long an unfulfil

Well someone dug out the original link to the feed (sniffed it probably) and you can download it usint Jdownloader for instance, but it's been seeded now so there's no point. The SDH release is indeed a different source as explained in the release notes, guess our friend didn't read again before jumping to conclusions... It also has 5.1 audio. Yeah Keith has that little extra magic that you can see at work on the "Mixed Emotions" recording session (yes I know some say it's acted). Mick uses straightforward chords most of the time, except on D&G interestingly enough. That's one of the (slight) problems with "Wandering Spirit" that was produced like a Stones album unlike the others but lacks that "c
