German / dutch music mag Musik Express from that time had some really nice pics of Mick and Marianne standing face to face in the crowd. Mick in his blue jacket. Unfortunately still can't post them here. Does anyone know? They both look nice, particularly in one of those photos.

I'm another Neanderthal man (remember that song)?! Still having my nice I Pod classic as well with 1000s of songs and all my old/ own stuff on it. Some day I'll really have to dig into all that Spotify life . But at the moment I'm still happy with all my many play lists.

QuoteRockman ................... Keith Richards .... backstage Osteenhalle Kiel - West Germany 2 May 1976 Never seen. I've been around at that date. This pic looks good. But Keith was in a bad shape and mood before the gig. Perhaps this was later on. Or when doing the video shots Really wish there were mobiles in 76.

I loved the original Rocks off from First listening in the early 70's. But it took some time with the whole albums. And critics weren't that good.

Quotetreaclefingers It has everything you could possibly want in the architypal Stones song; sex, sleaze, drugs, world-weary rock and roll with raunchy interwoven guitar assault, bouncy keyboards, delicious drums...and the horns, oh man the horns, best and most authentic use of horns this band ever had this side of Brown Sugar...and the ethereal 'I'm so mesmerized' sequence tha

Going back to the spirit of the 60/70's you wouldn't believe all this.

Maybe he was talking about the band interviews. Don't know about the way they were achieved. Sometimes have some doubts about them.

Quotewindmelody When the book came out I was very impressed, especially when I read that Charlie Watts was the co-editor. A few years later he said the whole book was rubbish, myths and fabrication and that he was not involved in bringing it out at all. So I am skeptical about it, and I would not recommend it. It contains nice photographs though. I dunno. Where did he say that? I mean the

Still have the original book. Has there ever been a new version? I liked Bill Janovitz small Exile book as well.

Quotepowerage78 Very good Harlem Shuffle, Mixed emotions, Rambler, Happy and JJF versions. And a fantastic 2000 Light Years From Home one. Period.[/7quote] Yes, some really good versions on this show. I always liked Harlem Shuffle as well. Hope for a good mix and some extras. Otherwise I must have half a dozen versions of this concert.

Saw a few Rory shows through the 70's. But most impressive was a gig with Taste at a German festival in 1970. Great Day, great Rory. People were screaming for more for 30 min.But the band was already at the airport. Among other groups were Colosseum and Free shortly before their big breaktrough with All right now.

I knew Ralf Hütter from very early 70's. He was from my hometown. Still had very long hair. Some month ago -before Covid -I last met him at a local Media-Market going throu cd's. Last time I saw Florian is many years ago at Düsseldorf station. He already looked very old and nobody would've recognized him. RIP

QuoteRobertJohnson Quoterollmops Have the Stones and Johnny ever met? Rockandroll, Mops I don't know. But I think so. Silver Train was allegedly written for Johnny Winter by Keith and Mick. Well, this is not true. They gave him Silver Train cause he asked for a song. But it was already written.

It's quite a good tune. And of course I'm happy they released something at all. But I have problems with the drumming/sound/mix. All later Stones stuff with similar drum grooves/mixes - there are a few - I just don't like. It even ruins the song to me.

QuoteCousinC No. "It's only aural meccano". (Who said this first about another Stones song ?!) BTW. It's been Mick Taylor who said this in an NME Interview about "new single" It's only RocknRoll in the 70's.
