QuoteJustinTabbing a solo from a live show is a bit painstaking. And sometimes too much work for something that is so easy. Those solos he played on Steel Wheels were great. He usually stayed on the penatomic scale on the 12 fret. One mustn't always rely on tabs to play music. A solo is a perfect way to develop your ear. Listen to it and mimic the sounds, the notes and the inflections.

No, it's called musicianship. Every musician would do the same.

Well ok, there's a pedal by Boss, the RC-20XL Loop Station, that does the trick if you hook it up to a microphone and clap your hands.

Both use it and Keith often uses it, obviously also on his standard songs like Happy. They're pretty complicated lyrics, you try singing them from the top of your head after a dozen screwdrivers.

Erm what are you getting at? Some musicians record multiple tracks that they loop to build a song around, which is obviously not because they lack a drummer but just because it's a cool performance. But I'm not sure what you're question is. Yes, there is 'anything like this'. But what does it have to do with the Stones?

How about it: Brian was such a great guy, I think.. he's always so inspired when you hear him play. And on some songs you just hear he's written something.. he was unique and supercool! He's kind of mysterious and I often forget about him but what a character.. too bad he got @#$%& up by the drugs.. but how about a thread only about him.. pictures, stories, whatever you like

I think they're not mega-big because they're a boring live act. Try sitting through a Muse concert. Boring. They just play the songs. There's no performance aspect in the way the real big bands have it. It's not that they don't try, but when you see the 'big boys' play (and that doesn't mean OLD bands), they walk on stage, you're just entertained, even

QuoteBeastMore likely he was on his way to somewhere like the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, where he's stayed before and to which I think he donates money from some of his artwork to save rhinos. That is cool.

Keith Moon had bought the '75 Stones stage and put it in his backyard.

QuoteHelterSkelterkids think putting together some great music costs very little.... Those darn kids nowadays.. seem to think Bentleys and their chauffeurs come cheap these days. Just kidding ofcourse.. I kind of agree too. I could see a young band doing it to get their music about but why does Macca feel he has to do this kind of partnership? It's not very classy anyway.

The jazzy versions of Stones songs were pretty hot: if I remember correctly, Keith playing on HTW. But I'm generally bored by 'world music'. But we'll see!

One of the many ways to give your album a boost in the charts.. I remember Prince did it a while back by giving free albums to everyone that went to his shows. It's kind of a cool in a way.

I agree. And if Keith, as a guitar player, has arthritis, I don't think we're invading his privacy by discussing whether he'll be able to perform or not.

Quotewith sssoulsigh: this has been discussed over and over (use the search gizmo - try "arthritis" and "all posts" ) - and why?? it's not a matter where anyone's opinion changes anything. and idle speculation like the first poster's - it ain't your decision to make. all kinds of joy & blessings on Keith and all the Stones Well obviously it isn&

I love the performance and the video but the audio quality, the sound of the guitars, is pretty shitty here if you ask me. It's the way it was recorded..

QuoteZackThey were considering sacking him as early as the 81 tour for his base habit. Ah yeah I was reading his book last night. He said Keith once came in the bathroom where Ron and Bobby were doing base, Keith took a shit there, and walked out, and they hadn't even noticed.

Having you sit IN the stage is something they should give you a sweet deal for, not have you pay extra.

No he wasn't there in '82, Bobby was back. He's with Charlie Haden's quartet now. Or at least he was, I'm not sure whether he still is.

She wasn't really hot but it's typical Stones humor. Great lyrics: And she was hot - in the melted snow She was hot - in the molten glow She was hot - she got it in the blood She was hot - like the dam that bursts She was black - she was strong and true She was black - and her eyes were blue She was lost - and she took a chance At just a brief romance Down the avenue int

QuoteJumpingKentFlashOne of the greats from that tour. It's as good as the incredible SAL version. As good...? This one beats it by a mile in all aspects really. How can it be AS good. The bass is incredible compared to the static work from Daryl. Ronnie's solo is bad-ass.. Ernie Watts there with the amazing saxophone sound. Mick singing really clear. The SAL version is cool and all b

I think the mix on Some Girls is really flat. Kinda static. That's the main reason I dislike the album. The sound on Tattoo You is completely the other way around: very dynamic, with a really crisp sound. It's a matter of taste, but I really prefer the Tattoo You sound.
