Very nice pictures indeed. Fittingly, Mexican TV just re-aired their paparazzi-footage of KR's/Patti Hansen's wedding on Dec. 18, 1983: (Sorry if this was already posted here before). N

They rehearsed near New York (New Jersey) in May and with Bill Wyman in last December. A few weeks ago is probably a mix-up of these and the rehearsals for the June 30-gig of Ronnie Wood with Bill Wyman. N

The source is clearly STU's handwritten diary-page from Roy Carr's book. The tracklist and origins are more like this: from www.nzentgraf.de 620712A 12th July: THE ROLLIN’ STONES. As there are no recordings from the Stones' historic first gig at the Marquee that night, here's the second best authentic thing: Two rare tracks from Charlie Watts' live-session with Alexis Korner's Blues Inc. for BBC's Jazz Club of the same night (which, as we all know, led to the free spot for the Stones at the Marquee...). info taken from nzentgraf.de: 12th July

So Christopher Sandford tries to rewrite history by repeating that same bloody mistake again, that Mick Avory sat on the drums at the Stones' very first gig. The same Christopher Sandford who had already researched three biographies on the Stones doesn't know better, although there's many sources and interviews with Mick Avory that tell otherwise. This kind of journalism makes me

There's a new Dick Taylor-interview in the current German issue of Rolling Stone magazine. Dick Taylor recalls that he did bass for both bands on July 12, 1962, but he also recalls that Charlie Watts was on the drum seat of the Rollin' Stones that night. So we shouldn't fully trust his recollections. N

They chose to do more rehearsals in Chicago, September 28 & 29. After the gigs in Philly and Buffalo they probably came to the conclusion that they need a sax-player on this tour. Maybe they used Park West as rehearsal space, although I guess they headed to some more intimate studio instead. This is probably the reason why this Chicago club-gig never happened. Thanks for the links

Tomorrow we will see the last of the ten TV-episodes (although there is rumour that there will be a special episode with Paul McCartney in May). I hope Ronnie will be back on the radio with his show afterwards. He recently said that he did about 100 shows by now, 86 were aired, so there's a lot of new ones in the can (like the two telecast shows with Slash and Patti Boyd...). N

The Willie Nile-inspiration was new to me. Very interesting. I don't know if it has been discussed here before (I tried the search engine to no avail) but about one year before, Jagger got some similar amount of inspiration from Jack Scott's Leroy for Claudine. N
