For the record, here's Angry on the digital market, numbers updated every day: After 5 days, Angry is Top 200 on Spotify in only 4 countries and Spotify has over 50% of the Singles chart market. Good numbers on iTunes are nothing in 2023, a #1 song on UK iTunes sell less than 1000 copies in a week and only a bit better in the US, no one buy tracks anymore. Ghost Town had way b

If the October date is correct (someone well connected told me November a few months ago) the date must be October 20th, the following week is the release of Taylor Swift and that one will be #1 for 2-3 weeks minimum.

QuoteGerardHennessy Unloved by many it may be, but Forty Licks has justified its re-release, at least in chart terms, by remaining on the Billboard 200 for a second week. On the chart just issued Forty Licks is at No.81, a fall of twenty places. But the fact it is there at all is quite surprising. Frankly I thought it MIGHT pop onto the chart for a week before disappearing again. Possibly foreve

Zero chance, Mick will be bored to death with only 10 minutes in rehearsals. Actually less than zero chances, the last Stones show was over 1 year ago and the last Stones show not in a large stadium/arena and no warhorse leaded was in 2015. It's easier to play the same songs over and over again, jamming the warhorses during 10 minutes each, less work and the tourist crowd is happier.

QuoteNilsHolgersson Blue & Lonesome was a #1 album in the UK though, I'm sure an album of new material will be #1 for all that's still worth. It all depends on the week of release and the competition, in England it is easier to be #1 but in the United States any rapper throws you an album out of the blue with 25 songs on streaming and leaves you out of the race. B&L moved 1

The album at #73 in UK moved 1823 units, so 40 Licks at #68 is very close to that number, mostly from streaming points.

QuoteNilsHolgersson It's a rerecorded album, they don't sell millions. She's released another one last month in July. The last one debuted at #1 with over 700k and it's not one of her most popular albums. 1989 is her best selling and by far most pupular album, it will sell over 1.2 or more only during the first week and over 300k on the second week, and that is a very con

Taylor Swift announced today the release of her album 1989 for 10/26 and it will be the release of the year, already in less than 12 hours it sold 140,000 copies in pre-sale only in the United States, so: 1- The Stones album will not come out on 10/26 or 11/03, with such high sales in the first 2 weeks, the Stones album (and any other release) does not have the slightest chance and will be tot

Forty Licks it's the second album in the UK Top 40 this year after GRRR Live which reached #21 in February, that's more than good for an act with their first chart hit in 1963 and with the new album out in 3 months that will hit the Top 3 at least.

QuoteMartinB Not sure if relevance is the same thing as enduring importance, probably not, but regarding the latter, the key question is what will be Taylor Swift's standing in 20 years time. Anyone's guess... It's hard to predict what will happen in 20 years, Taylor Swift herself was in a little decline in her career in 2018-19 but she rebounded incredibly with that Folklore a

The only way to stay on the radar is to release new music, the Stones stayed on that radar until 1997, new music since then has been very sporadic (1 album of original material in 25 years and a handful of singles every 5-7-8 years), it's hard to be on radio/TV competing with new artists who are 20 years old releasing so little new material, it's impossible in fact. Taylor Swift, the

But Wyman, gently, politely, resolutely tries, though the challenge is made more complex by recent headlines announcing Wyman has “returned to the Stones,” which the fine print reveals actually means that Wyman has just flown to Los Angeles to cut one new track on an album made in tribute to their late drummer Charlie Watts. And then Wyman reveals this isn’t exactly the whole truth. “Wh

In Mick's video from yesterday you can clearly hear a finished song and Mick miming over it (that guitar is not even plugged in) probably they are mixing sessions or already a complete mix and they are listening to the final song. Either way, the album won't be out for at least 5+ months from now so having a release date (let's say 17th November) won't help much, although I

Quotebitusa2012 QuoteGasLightStreet Let's put that into math: 20 is a bit precise, because in 2012 there was Doom And Gloom and Don't Stop. OK so let's say from 2013 onward: BLUE AND LONESOME in 2016 (barely). Living In A Ghost Town in 2019. Aside from the reissues and solo material, yeah, that's hardly anything - but given how they are these days (since 2005)

It ranks at #118 on this week's chart (#12 on sales alone) with 9,000 units. It marks the 4th Stones album to chart on the Billboard 200 this year: - In Mono (#151, 1 week) - GRRR Live (#193, 1 week) - Hot Rocks (#178, 9 weeks) - Beggars Banquet (#118, 1
