>>Yes ABB is a really good album yet it has only sold 1.5m copies worldwide. Does anyone know why the sales in the UK & USA are so dismal? Easy answer: the fanbase in both, UK & US, is very old. The fan base in Italy, Germany, Argentina or Netherlands is full of young Stones fans, the album is #3 in Argentina and Italy after 6 weeks, while the current position in UK is #121 an

I think that the album is on free fall, that's why the new edition with DVD will be coming on Nov. 22. All the re-releases are 5-6 months after the original date, I NEVER saw a re-release so soon. Sadly, I don't see too much chart life for ABB in Billboard, if the album is falling 10-15 places each week, it will be out of the Top 200 in 8-10 weeks. They need STRONG airplay on the roc

Why're you writing loads of lies on a Stones forum? Go to the Macca forum and speak all of you want there, I doubt that someone will believe the 70-80% of your post.

>>Anyway, in Europe, the Stones will not be able to charge over 100,- for a stadium ticket. If they do, I predict many half filled stadiums, espec. with ABB selling so poor. ABB is still #5 in Europe after 5 weeks, a @#$%& hit album there.

>>georgelicks: "RIAA certified shipments to stores, not sales." Mmmmm... Yes, the same happened with B2B. But are the "shipments" a certain criteria? If RIAA tells "this album is platinum", does that mean the record, sooner or later, will top for sure the 1 million sales in USA? Actually, it means nothing. I've seen Platinum albums that never rea

I can understand a GOLD certification, but Platinum it's too much for the current total of ABB. I just made a list with the certifications of the Top 50 albums on Billboard this week and the actual sales: 6. Kanye West, Late Registration (2x Platinum - total sales: 1,640,570) 9. The Black Eyed Peas, Monkey Business (Platinum - total sales: 1,696,688) 10. Faith Hill, Fireflies (Platinum

>>GeorgeLicks, how can they do that? Easy, Virgin request the certification to RIAA and the can request what they want putting $$. The album has sold 277,000 copies so far and the platinum award is for 1.000,000 copies shipped to stores. >>I think they extrapolate the numbers to include all the store that DON'T have Soundscan. Virgin is trying to push the album with fake certifications, ABB has sold 276,000 copies to date, 724k away from a REAL platinum award. B2B was certified Platinum in the week 5 too, but the album sales were a lot better than now. B2B dropped from the Billboard 200 after 27 weeks with 905,000 copies sold, but the album has sold 1.165,000 copies so far.

Sadly, the Stones (a/k/a M. Cohl) are the only act not reporting gross numbers to Billboard. They send the final report at the end of the year/tour including god knows what.

>>I mean, can you write the WORLDWIDE sales of every Stones album? And the exact US-UK sales, perhaps? I am asking it as a favour... I can't sadly, I only can write aprox. numbers. The US sales are more easy to get but only post 1991 figures, the Stones moved almost 21,400,000 copies during the Soundscan era, they're #39 on the US artist sales rank during the post 1991 sales.

Total sales so far: 1.581,700 after 5 weeks of sales. I expect a heavy slide next week but the album will break the 2 million mark before of christmas. >>Franz Ferdinard at #41 (55,000). To be honest, the so poor sales of Franz Ferdinard surprise me, unless this is not a “normal”, “full” univeral first week for them. That number only includes Japan and few other countries sales. O

>>Georgelicks, if B2B sold 93,000 during 12 weeks of sales, i don't think that 80,000 copies of ABB, during 5 weeks, is a tragic number... Agreed, it's not so bad. Anyway, just compare the figures with Forty Licks: 2002 (648,000) 12 wks 2003 (180,000) 52 wks The album surpassed the 900k in UK, their best selling album ever there.

>>Georgelicks, how many copies B2B had sold in the UK? It sold 93,000 according to 1997 year end sales, during 12 weeks of sales. The album spent another 7 weeks bubbling on the top 76-200 in 1998 and 3 more weeks on 1999. I guess that has sold 120-130k. I can give you the Top 200 run: UK Date: 11/10/1997 - Run: *6*-12-27-38-62-69-90-106-113-112-87-80- (12 wsf) 03/01/1998: 92-13

ABB is out of the official UK Top 75 chart after 4 weeks on chart, the shortest stay for any UK #2 album in the history so far. The album is bubbling under at #92 this week. UK chart run so far: 2-13-32-61-(92) Live Licks spend its 4th week on the Top 75 at the last position, surpassing ABB for 17 spots!

>>George licks, will a special edition be added to the sales of the current cd or tracked differently as a seperate unit? It will be added to the regular CD, that's why 50 Cent jumped back to #2 four weeks ago. I doubt that a new edition will affect the sales, the christmas season is very competitive and you need to sell close to 100k to be in the Top 40.
