Just returned home to Chicago tonight after seeing the first 2 London shows. And although the last week has been a complete blur and I've been up for almost 24 hours straight, I would highly agree that last night's show was one of my top 5. And it was a remarkable difference from the Tuesday's show. However, in our opinion, the audience had a lot to do with that. We couldn'

The Aragon show was all general admission... we stood in line (83rd and 84th in line) from for a good 8-9 hours on a beautiful Chicago day and met so many great fans from all over. Once the doors opened, we ended up right up front on Keith's side. What an incredible show!

John Lee Hooker died a little over 6 years ago... the only reason I remember is because we were vacationing in California and were in the same town that he died in at the time. His son, John Lee Hooker, Jr. is still alive and kicking though. Have seen him at the Tampa Bay Blues Fest and he's pretty good!

My first thought in Chicago was also Buddy Guys Legends... however, they are planning to relocate and will probably not be at 754 South Wabash next spring. Either way, Buddy's is definitely the way to go. And if Buddy is in town, you'll more than likely catch him sitting at the end of the bar. I'd stay clear of Kingston Mines. It's gotten very commercialized. During the

I'd have to say it was at the United Center / Chicago in April 98 (B2B tour)... our seats were right next to the B stage so as they're playing and we're standing right at the corner, Mick comes over and is right above us. My friend decides to flash him!! I've got a great shot of Mick looking down at her with the most perplexed look on his face!!! I laugh every time I look a

The horns are usually only on 3-4 songs and I agree that they add a lot to the sets. Not to mention, they're great guys who the Stones happen to have a great amount of respect for. Tim Ries and Michael Davis are awesome when they do the Rolling Stones Project (they also have a CD out that's great). Bernard is often on stage with them doing vocals and some other guest musicians. If yo

Ahhh.... that was back in the days when U2 was great!! On an opposite note, Bono appeared on stage at the Aragon in Chicago/September 2003. I remember we were right up at the stage on Keith's side and all of a sudden Bono appears and joins them during 'Going to a Go-Go'. Would love to see a clip of that if anyone has one!! Dr. John and Shemekia Copeland opened for them. I thi

Buddy always puts on a great show... living in Chicago, we get a chance to see him often, mostly at Legends (he plays there for approx 16-18 shows every January) and we always arrive early and get a table front center. The original 'Legends' will be closing soon and relocating - still haven't heard where the new location will be. While touring in Chicago back in January of 2003

Second (and subsequently third) shows were in September 1989 @ Alpine Valley Ski Resort in Wisconsin. Opening act was Living Color. It was a beautiful day and we had lawn seats... we were interviewed by a Chicago news team while tailgating in the parking lot. Most vivid memory of the night was 2,000 Light Years from Home. What a powerful performance!! Would love to see them do that just

Interesting bit of Beach Boys / Stones-related history.... Blondie Chaplin played with the Beach Boys for a few years back in the 60's. And believe it or not, he did the solo on Sail on Sailor!!

After watching the entire tour announcement, I don't recall any mention of opening acts. Did I miss something? Any ideas of who's opening on specific shows. It might just help narrow down which shows to attempt to get to. This is our first tour to Europe.... now we understand how difficult it must have been for others to come to the U.S. for previous tours. I remember giving com

Living in Chicago, we've been fortunate enough to see Buddy more times than I can even remember! Buddy put a boxed set out somewhere around November. We picked it up @ one of his January shows and he even signed it for us. Yes, it's definitely worth buying. According to Legend's staff, Legends is not closing... they're relocating. They said that Columbia College is n

Not quite knowing the logistics of Germany... there's also another couple of Stones' related shows in Germany this weekend. The Tim Ries Rolling Stones Project is playing March 16-17 according to his website. We've seen them twice and they are just wonderful. It includes Tim Ries (sax), Michael Davis (trombone) and Bernard Fowler on a few vocals. In Chicago, Darryl Jones usual
