There's only very few bands left that started in the 60's and are still touring. Of course The Rolling Stones are. There is a lot of footage on this board that give us a hint of their abilities. How are the others doing? Roger Waters gathered a complete orchestra of young (well, some are not that young) players around him and gives the audience a big show where images are so over

QuoteDandelionPowderman Don't know why you confuse enjoying a 2017-show with a comparison to a 72/73-show, as no one did that.. Hey, Dandee, mate. A personal note, from an online friend. Don't respond to everything. All that counts to many of us, is that you and your friends had a great time at the show. That is encouraging for us who are still looking forward to having that ex

I think the studio version is not really well received, because it is the opener of the album. After having albums starting with some of the greatest tracks ever composed, the "voodoo riff" was not really grabbing the listener by the balls, like an opener is supposed to do. If the song would have swapped places with Heartbreaker in the tracklist of GHS, maybe it would have gained m

I don't remember they toured Europe this late in the year before, and judging by the youtube videos, I must say it is really cool to see them starting after daylight is gone. The big screens, the fireworks, the lighting, it all creates a great atmosphere right from the start.

It's not a poll I would send UN Verification Mission for observations to, but there might be some truth that the song vote is just a scheme to trick people into giving their e-mail adress. I guess the influence on the setlist is pretty low and they've already picked their choice. Not that I mind, as long as they play Rocks Off every once in a while. And Bitch too!

I have learned not to judge the quality of the shows by watching youtube-clips. But damn, have I been impressed by what I saw! I am really looking forward to the show in Amsterdam, 19 days from now. Hope Trust they'll be as amazing as they appeared to be in Hamburg.

Quotewith sssoul I'd post a photo of that one but photobucket has killed sharing, much to my distress. Hey Sssoul sister, good to see you back in one piece on this forum. Photobucket should be punished for ruining the great, great, great Ratbag Boogie threads. I needed that (as a complete guitar-layman) to find out which guitar you were referring to, only to find ugly empty pages wh

This is exactly why it is good to get information about rehearsed songs; the adrenaline is flowing through my body like a thunderstorm! Quite some surprises. Please good people, going to the show in Hamburg tomorrow, let them know we looooove surprises like these! And of course, let them know we love them, but you will, I know, you will. .

The Struts opened Paris 2014 for the Stones. Was not really succesful, maybe they learned from that experience. Strange thing happened at the end of their part: the sound was shut off in the middle of their last song and roadies entered the stage to take the gear away. Apparently they exceeded their time slot. That was a "Stonesy" thing to do, I think, not minding about the time slo

It's been pretty common for the band to make their artwork more lousy than previous ones. I thought the gorilla was the lowest point, but they manage to take it one step beyont that. That is quite an achievement. They're still the bad boys they were. Now, let's hope they'll surprise us with shows that are even better than previous ones to compensate for raping the tongue-

Quotelatcho are you gonna be in hamburg marco ?? Just Amsterdam for me. That's as much as I can afford. What I meant to say is: I admire bv for his commitment to the band. It's impressive how much time and money he invests, and I am thankful for him sharing his experiences with us, so we can get a glimmer of what it is like to be such a great fan.

Quoteddouven They rehears at the LH2 studios in London. If you look at the picture of Karl Denson en the pictures in the gallery you can see it. Excellent. Thanks for finding out. Any information is good information. We're only 11 days from the opening show, and the atmosphere is rather lackluster until today. Let's hope some excitement will get through in the following da

QuoteStone4ever Oh sorry i thought rehearsals was a good place to discuss what they might play at rehearsals.. Its kind of on topic, to my mind anyways. No sweat. But when looking for clues about what they actually ARE reheasing, it is quite a job to go through five pages of wishful thinking.

Quotestone4ever QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteFoolToCry Coming Down Again - really..this would be great great great to hear! and would really good fit to the set. piano, sax solo, nice backing harmonies.... I read somewhere that Keith said he'll never do it, because of the lyrics, or something... It's a shame, cause it's a great, great song, imo. If Keith attempts Can't

QuoteROLLINGSTONE I hate to bring this up but given what happened in Rotterdam (or what could have happened) last night I'm hoping and praying the upcoming tour will pass without threat or incident. The best we can do is enjoy the life we're living. Let's Rock and let's Roll!

I still have a hard time figuring out what message Trump is sending to his audience by playing You can't always get what you want at these meetings. Or is he just trying to tell us that his favorite flavour is Cherry red? .

QuoteROLLINGSTONE I'm coming from Glasgow and booked in to the Courtyard Marriott Hotel, is that close to arena? I think the best you can do is travel from Schiphol Airport to the Amsterdam Arena and back by train. You can travel by taxi from the hotel to Schiphol Airport, or take a bus from station "Hoofddorp Overbos" to the airport. I think it will take you about 20 minutes

QuoteDandelionPowderman Mick played with Charlie for the pre-production of She's The Boss? As the diary is from july 1984, I think it was at the time of the overdubs. Recording sessions for Just another night were in may and june, weren't they?

It's not clear to me if Rabbit left the sessions because of the drinking problems of his girl friend, or because he did not get along with Jagger. He's only credited for synthesizer on Just another night, as far as I know. No other songs. Rabbit toured with Mick Taylor in the 90's didn't he? He's playing on some songs of A Stones' Throw.

I think Viagogo is a serious player in the market and they don't want their reputation to be damaged by scalpers who sell the same electronic ticket twice. I can not guarentee anything, but they have a lot to lose. So I think they can be trusted.

We have many recordings of concerts that show us how great the band is playing without any overdubs. We can enjoy those and analyse them to death to hear who is missing a note or beat. Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! is an album we have to rock out to. Who cares if there are any overdubs? The result is a very great album with revolutionary sound quality and some of the best songs ever written, to

As we don't want no politics on this site, I won't respond to the substance of the lyrics, but reading them, I can hear them either being rapped, or barked out in the way Mick sang in the 80s. But we'll have to wait to hear the actual song before we draw any conclusions about the road Mick has taken.
