Quoteozziestone Joe turned 70 today His Mad Dogs and Englishmen album is one of my all time favorites. His singing on that album is in the same class as my all time favorite soul singers Otis Redding, Sam Cooke and Ray Charles.Great band on that album too.Leon Russell had put that band together and he's the one who made all the great arrangements. Joe never sounded so good!

QuoteStoneburst I think this - starting at 4.09 - is Taylor's best solo with the Stones, and the best guitar solo I've ever heard from anyone. It's flawless. Taylor at his best takes you on a musical and emotional journey like no-one else. Brilliant!

I like to hear Carol, Little Queenie, Let it Rock, Around and Around, Bye Bye Johnny. Great songs and a salute to the great man who created these songs.

QuoteGazza Wonderful, richly deserved honour. Congratulations to Chuck. I dont think the honorees perform at this event. I know Dylan didnt and I dont think Springsteen did either. Any chance people could just be happy for the man without needing to stick the boot into him ? I agree with you. We all know he's a very old man now. Chuck Berry is one of most important musicians/com

Quote71Tele Holy crap is this good! Hadn't seen video of these two before. [/quote That's why I started the thread "Chuck Berry songs for the 2014 European tour". From the first time I heard Little Queenie and Carol on Get Yer Ya Ya's Out I'm looking for live recordings of Chuck Berry covers by the Stones. By far the very best Chuck Berry covers ever!

Quoteflacnvinyl YES YES YES! I can say with complete and total honesty that there is nothing better than the Stones doing Chuck Berry songs. And with that I am off to watch Live In Texas and have a cigar and a pale ale! I totally agree with that. What a great typical Stones sound!

Quotekristian What I really would like to hear is You can´t catch me, with the original Keith solo (wonder if he could play it again today?); Chuck´s original doesn´t include a guitar solo so this is something special. Great idea!

Both Mick and Keith sound best when they're making music together. Regarding Charly, Bill, Mick Taylor and Ron Wood: They all sound best when making music with The Rolling Stones. Although: The recent Tribute to Jimmy Reed shows by Ron Wood and Mick Taylor also sound great!

In my opinion the very best Chuck Berry covers ever made are done live by the Stones:Little Queenie and Carol on Get Yer YaYa's Out, Let It Rock Leeds 1971, Bye Bye Johnny DVD Ladies and Gentlemen The Rolling Stones, and Around and Around on Love You Live. Chuck's songs fit them perfectly well.I hope they will do a Chuck Berry song during their european tour. Do you agree?

We, Sjef and Jan Athmer, organised the Mick Taylor Band concerts in the Netherlands last November (in fact Sjef did all the work!) and today we asked the Daily Mail to correct their incorrect information. The truth about those concerts is: The Mick Taylor Band was NOT a support band to a Scandinavian blues act but they were (of course!) our MAIN ACT both nights!!! We had 2 support acts: Danny Bry

Just my opinion: If you make video recordings without the artist's permission, be respectful to the artist and don't put it on You Tube. Just keep it to yourself. There are so many things on You Tube wich are not representative for the artist. Every improvising musician has his up and downs in very every show he does. It's not fair to focus on the downs. If that's your attit
