to me it was the 89/90 intro with the theme from Continental Drift... Wooooooowwww...what a way to start a live show !!! the rythm of CD...getting faster and faster..like the staccato from a mashine gun...it made me shout and scream like a crazy dog. The 81 intro with the "Take the A train" from Duke Ellington was not bad either, it fits well with the giutar intro from Under My th

Hi folks, In term of: - where to play first ( USA) - ticket prices - variety of shows ( stadiums, arenas, clubs) - setlistwise ( more changes, more risky) - Payperview Tv show & guest appearence and so on ... the Rolling Stones proofed that , at least since 89, they are at their best, during the first half of their world tours, which always take place in the USA. When they come

Hi folks, I am a hard core Stones fan...but I ain`t a musican...so reviewing Stones shows to me is way different than someone does who is a musican by himself... To me a Rolling Stones show sound good or not... and after watching about 30 live shows and having heard hundreds of Live boots I even can hear and find out the difference from Keith or Ronnies guitar playing...sometimes. So it may

Hi folks, just read on stonesnews.com.... (they refer on Stonesviking of course), that on the press party on 29 th of June in London, 11 out of 18 songs have been introduced....as you may all know already. But what suprises me is the fact that there were no horns and no backing musicans at all......even Chuck and Daryl were very low in the mix. the focus hase been...just the four Stones. Th

Hi, This bord is discussing about which songs the Stones should play or should leave........after all it`s all up to taste. More or less warehorses...more ore less obscure songs...more or less new songs and so on .. But what do you think is the one and only song which the Stones have to play at each show ? Which is the one and only song making a bad show to a good one, making a good show to a

Hi, I don`t see how to compare them...The Edge is a great guitarist... but, comparing him to Keith is not fair...I mean, it`s the Stones, man. I don`t like that "Who is better" thing at all... You should not compare musicans to each other, as it`s all kind of personal taste...so there is no right or wrong, which means there is no better or worse. Maybe someone who is playing an i

Hi folks, 1. if the ticket selling is doing well, than you do not have to make any further advertising by putting posters in the street.... Remember Voodoo Lounge ? The whole ticket selling lasted just one week in Dezember.. Than you did not see or hear anything about the tour until the end of May... when I saw a poster here and there from time to time...talking about the german shows.

Hi, this would be cool of course... They will make at least one TV Live show, as they did it in the last 5 tours. Atlantic City 89 Miami 94 St.Louis 97 MSG 2002 But most of them were at the end of the US leg..mostly in late November, early Dezember...so don`t count, they will broadcast the garden show, which is in September..maybe they show it if they come back to MSG in Januar 06.. By the way: They say that the screens from the U2 stage are something totaly new..."a never have been before seen" thing...so what´s so special about it ? Does someone know some more facts about the video screens ?? P.S. Just saw the set list from U2 first night g

Hi folks, up to now the Stones have been confirming as follows: 17 stadium and 20 arena shows in the USA For example...U2 is doing 75 !!! shows in the USA, mostly arenas and 30 shows in Europe..but stadiums only. Hope this is no bad sign for Stones fans , the band playing only stadium shows in Europe. See you on the tour Salar

Hi folks, The first live show after 7 years....and then after the 3rd or 4th song the whole sound PA collapsed, due to lost of power.... Oh my god...No more power, this is worst case scenario, isn`t it ? If I remember well, it must have been during Shattered. Who was there ? How do you remeber that kind of desaster for any live band ? How did the crowd react ? What was the atmosphere in

Thinking of the Stones in Hawaii...great memorys...I went to Hawaii during the Babylon tour ..they played 2 shows at Aloha stadium in Honolulu. each show about estimated 30.000 people. It was my first oversea experience with the Rolling Stones... I was crazy enough flying around the whole world, leaving germany in deep winter, arriving in Honolulu at about 30° grad celsius, what a clima shock,

Hi, yeah..what a great week this was in München.....2 years ago....hard to believe. I was one of the lucky guys that could join the whole Munich trilogie. ...which was followed 4 weeks later by the marvelous week in Paris ( remember TooTough ?!) Hi, I would choose 40Licks for your son... it covers the whole 40 years of the Stones career... Of course Hot Rocks 1 and 2 or TTPD or JB and so on is cool stuff... but this ends up in 1971....or just covers parts of the Stones history.. so the Stones haven`t done anything since 71 or what ? I know some of you do think so....but this is not true. if your son gets warm with 40licks......tha

Hi folks, some of you think that this will be the last tour...and they are basing their opinion to Charly Watts comment on the Pressconference, when he simply answered the 30 year old question of this being the last tour with a short and dry "YES". This could even make more sence after knowing that CW was fighting Throat cancer successfully last year. But I don`t think so....I was
