Lenchik...as I said - love it. It just seems (to me) that Jagger is about to sing more on Sun Is Shining when cut off. Prob not...who knows. No criticism...just observation. Great work. Thanks

Mate..great Job. One criticism, Sun Is Shining not quite right, but rest seems good! Sun is Shining ..Jagger seems like he is singing the song. Thanks...that Stray Cat is bloody awesome performance!

QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotepichenot QuoteEleanor Rigby That pic of keith.. he wears that top during the Melbourne 1973 shows. Are you asking if he played the DA during the 1973 Aussie/NZ Tour? Yes first time I see Keith with Dan Armstrong between Nellcote and European tour 2007. Who said the pic in the opening post was from the 1973 Winter Tour? Hahaha...read the post! Surely he is as

There's actually more footage from the AP archive: Stones bits at the end, looks like JJF, carol and Sympathy in bits...

Mathijs reckons that pic is San Francisco 1972. I thought he also played the DA during one of the Canadian shows from 1972. I haven't seen the DA in any 1973 pics.

Respectably disagree, I reckon the last vocals are Stray Cat Blues...with the bow... It's the end of the song and Jagger bows to the crowd. It's definitely not SDTD...it can't be as the song goes longer. But I love the intrigue...and the effort with the sync

Quotelenchik Well, after several iterations it turned out that we have a bit of Carol and SFTD, not Stray Cat Blues as we thought. Here is sample for you to judge - nice effort. I'm not sure it's Sympathy. Notice from 0.32 to the end, Jagger is completing a song with a bow to the crowd. The time from the microphone/last words of song to the bow (end of song) has to be any of

It's on Associated Press archive website. Just put a filter for Rolling Stones and a date filter for 1969... Thanks for the heads up!

Quotelenchik I will share for sure once finished. “Stray cat blues” is also featured at the end of the film. Does it mean this footage combines shots from Two cameras? this is where it gets weird. There's UMT footage 'before' Stray Cat Blues. Not sure how the processing was done whether they combined 2 seperate reels of footage together but in the wrong order?

Quotelenchik QuoteEleanor Rigby "Love in Vain' is possible as it is around the right period of the show. THat's "love in Vain" for sure. I've already tried audio and it matched pefectly. Now if anyone could identify the song that starts at 15:04 mark... Please share your synced sound. Yeah - Stray Cat is my guess also...Taylor seems to be playing a heavy so

Quotelenchik QuoteEleanor Rigby Anyone have an idea what songs are being played for the Stones section? I'm thinking the film starts around the end of Sympathy. We "seem" to get The Sun Is Shining and Stray Cat Blues. But the footage chops and changes a bit which is weird. Feels like Under My Thumb is in there also. The first 30 seconds are “Love in vain”, we see MT playing

Hey Honestman - great job on brightening the Stones pics! I can't believe how dark it is in the new footage. Some other altamont footage I have seen (not out of GS movie) is much brighter....even amateur foot

QuotePaddy QuoteEleanor Rigby QuoteDoxa So, according to the Angel interviewed there, Hunter tried two times to get on the stage (like so many other people during the day and night thay kept the Angels busy), with no success due to once again great security job by the Angels to protect the stage. He got angry, went to his car to get his gun, came back, and then the Angels took care of him. Yep

Great thread. Rickenbackers were hugely popular during the mid 60s. But they were best suited to the jangly sounds ala The Byrds etc.. Great guitars though. Probably Stones thought they wanted different sounds

QuoteChrisM42 Please Note: I have modified my thinking on Stray Cat Blues and Baltimore based on a recording that became available after my work listening to the music and transcribing the vocals to place the sources based on audience recordings. So, Stray Cat Blues is: MSG 11/28/69 1st Show by process of elimination. Thanks as always for the feedback, Chris M. You do a great job!
