To my ear and many others he plays Taylors parts like Taylor or like himself or a combination of the two..depends on what the song is..please don't get me in a Woodie versus Taylor thing,,this a thread for Ronnie and I them both.. PS,as for All Down The Line he was all over the place on that song in the 70s,adding his own licks,it wasn't til the Licks tour he started playing it note fo

I don't think Mick and Keith sat around thinking about they were better live in 73 on the 75 tour, listening to Brussels after each gig like some of you dream they did, they were busy rocking, partying and being the Stones, and having fun with Woodie!!

I just recently saw the Boston 1993 Keith and the E,Winos show, his vocals are awesome on that DVD. Today I just wish he didn;t stop playing while he was singing so much, but I still like his spot, and in relation to another thread Ronnie carries Keith threw his set, playing wise that is....

Okay then,,,,, When Mick Taylor was doing his thing,1969-74,Ronnie wasn't just sleeping somewhere he was in the Stones rival raunch and roll band, doing the samething that Taylor was doing, except Ronnie was writing some of the best music of all time. Ronnie could take a Rod Stewart melody line to the sky,the same way Taylor did with Mick, also for you Ronnie haters,I'm a guitar player a

Look,I'm as big a fan of Mick Taylor as the second man,but Ronnie gave the Stones a much needed kick in the ass,,besides Taylor left on his own accord.

From the Jeff Beck Group to the Faces to Rod solo to the Stones and his own solo work,he is the man, after all of the moaning about Ronnie,I see a new respect for the man. Thanks for seeing the light.

The only thing that sucks more than a guy playing and singing a Dave Matthews song,is Dave Matthews himself!!!! Yes it's true the Stones put him on tour with them, and Mick let him ruin Memory Motel. Can you imagine the horror seeing this live, thinking you are going to get the classic Mick and Keith duet?!?!? Thank God we have many live versions of Memory Motel to ease the pain.

Gazza, what are your favorites from Black and Blue?

Black and Blue is a classic album, they have done every song on it live, this is one of those albums that gets overlooked because of the so-called golden era. I think some Stones fans make the mistake like critics and compare everything they do to the 68-72 era. That was then, what were they supposed to do?stop recording after Exile?,don't think so,Black and Blue rules!!!!

Keiths vocals sound real good, and so does Ronnie on Guitar,I see it getting better and better and Keith playing more guitar as the tour go's on. Might as well get used to the horns and backing vocals. PS,how can so many people on this forum beg for the song and then complain about it?!!Wow,don;t you know Beggars can't be Choosers.

On that Webster hall show Mick is energized by the new material and not being under the weight of the Stones, also I think he learned by Keiths' example sink or swim on your new stuff live.He didn't do that in 88,heard he did mostly Stones song.I don't really remember the setlists for those 88 gigs.Think I'll find them on video.

232. Re: Sway
Sway in Boston rocked hard. Playing live gives you the freedom to change up a bit.I also love the studio version but those days are gone, the album is in Stone for all to have, but that version in Boston kicked some serious ass.Ronnie kicked out the jams and Keith has found his way on the song.

Keith is jealous,Mick has enough tunes to go around, also I think Suck on the juglar is all Mick.Keith probably said whatever. Also there is a clip in the Being Mick dvd where Mick is singing or working on Old Habits Die hard,I'll look at it tonight to see if I spot it,so I don't think D.Stewart contributed that much on that song. PS.Thanks Debra for those words, you are soooo right..
