OpenG,you get my vote for most Mick Taylor I Love You threads, but now you have lost your mind..stick to the the vibrato. PS not saying he can't sing, but that is no contest, also I've had that CD myself for 16 years,Stanger in This Town is one of his best songs,if he writes more he could get up there with Woods writing.

I've been listening to alot of early Stones latetly 63-67,for the interaction of Keith and Brian on Guitars. We get caught up on the Woodie/Taylor thing, and this stuff takes a back seat. Down the Road Apice,The Last Time,19th Nervous Breakdown,Fight 505,,etc,etc....clearly shows the rapport that they had together. Imagine them two in 62 learning how to play together..Sublime.. Swing on g

You Mick Taylor fans think everytime his name is mentioned ,its in compitetion..WRONG!! All I'm saying is he would have been playing blues in his own band,I said nothing about solo's or vibrato,Sway,Shine aLight,or anything like that.. I love Mick Taylor too but he was not the Stones only capable muscian.

As I said in my thread about Woodie ,I love Mick Taylor also..Ronnie is a mean rythmn also, and so was Brain for that matter,I think Mick T and Ronnie are neck and neck in that area of playing, both great slide players,I give Mick T. the edge on straight up soloeing,I think I read you saw the Faces and the Stones in the 71-74 period..I'm 38 and saw Ronnie solo 1992 Mick taylor 93 and 2000 fron

I don't think those so called technical players can play anything like Keith,,,the funny thing is when I jam with players into Satriani,Vai,Malsteem,or players like that they have no concept of timing, soul, feel, blues or anything except flying up and down the frett board,,,witch I can do also,,,but I can do both...

Mr OpenG,you are the Mick Taylor champion from hell,I thought I was a MickTaylor lover..I just don't agree with him being that must more talented then Ronnie..more power to you......My favorite Taylor moment recently is when he blew Clapton away at John Mayall's 70th birthday gig, also it's a crime against guitar players everywhere that the song California from that gig wasn't

Keith comes up with killer riffs and chord progressions time and time again,,some better than others,,and his Chuck Berry riffing is the best in the world besides Chuck in his heyday...as a lead guitarist I enjoy his leads in Bitch,Sad,Sad,Sad.,live version of Under My Thumb 81 Tour,,,plus many leads from the 64,65,and 66 era..also can't forget he is the only guitarist on Gimme Shelter 69!!!
