I love all of the old stuff. Rolling Stones, Now!, England's Newest Hitmakers, and Aftrmath are all on my top ten list of favorite Stones albums. That stuff is definitely underrated.

'Mr.D' is the only song on GHS that I don't like. Sorry. It's like some sort of self parody of Sympathy for the Devil. It's the lyrics that really kill it for me.

I love this song...it's one of my favorite songs on IORR. Glad to know I'm not the only one who likes it.

I'm glad Hot Rocks was released because it was what got me into the Stones in the first place. It gives people a nice taste of some of the band's best '60's stuff and then if they're smart they go searching for the other stuff.

Some Girls is EXCELLENT, Tattoo You is GREAT, Emotional Rescue is not quite up there with the other two but it's still a pretty good album.

GHS is one of the Stones' most underrated albums. I like IORR and BB alot but I can kind of see why they aren't really considered classics. The unpopularity of GHS though is something I just can't understand, it's such a fantastic album. I agree with an earlier poster, if 'Mr.D' had been left off or at least not used as the opening song (first impressions are importa

I love Aftermath...heck, I love all of the really early albums. I don't understand why they don't get talked about more, they're awesome. My favorite of the early stuff is Now! but Aftermath is great too. Perfect pop rock album. Under My Thumb, Lady Jane, Mother's Little Helper, Out of Time, I am Waiting, Stupid Girl, High and Dry,Going Home, Flight 505...how could anyone not

I love TSMR myself. I know it's not popular and alot of people can't stand it but it was actually one of the first Stones' cds I bought and it's a favorite of mine. The only thing I don't like on it are the two sing this all together songs. It would have been a stronger album if they would have taken those two off and put We Love You and Dandelion on. They could have put

I love Black and Blue and I always thought I was the only one who liked it. Glad to know other people like it too! Not one of their big classics but it's great to listen to if you're in a laid back kind of mood and don't feel like listening to anything too intense. Hand of Fate, Memory Motel, Hey Negrita and Crazy Mama are my favorites. Love all the musical exploration on this albu

Thanks for clearing that up and thanks for the link to the pictures! Do you happen to know the backstory behind it? Why they were rockclimbing on tv?

I have this weird memory of when I was in high school watching a show that might have been a documentary on the Stones or maybe it was one of those 'before they were stars' things on VH1, and they showed a clip of Mick Jagger when he was a kid rockclimbing with his dad. Now I wasn't a Stones fan then so it went in one ear and out the other. It might not even have been Mick and I ma

Glad to know I'm not the only one who has tried to introduce the Stones to my friends. Interesting replies. I did lend out my Hot Rocks cd since it was what got me hooked on the stones and they did like the music. I'm now trying to get them into stuff like Let it Bleed and Sticky Fingers and Exile but i don't know how that's going to go. They usually listen to stuff like coldp

Does anybody ever try to get their friends/family into the Stones? I've been trying to get some of my friends into the Stones but having some problems. They have enough good taste to like the music, but when i show them old videos of the Stones or concert footage or something like that they spend the whole time laughing at jagger's dancing. I try to keep my cool but it makes me feel sel

In the 1965-67 era of the Stones there were quite a few pop influences, like on Between the Buttons which was pretty much a purely pop record and there's pop influences on Aftermath and alot of their very early singles too.
