1978 as far as the bootlegs prove. 1976 messy and slightly lazy. 1978 ballsy, as far away from the latter day Stones one "could possibly imagine"! 75 fr better than 76, though I love much of the B&B stuff, on record!

Right, the Stones in both the 60s and 70s. Why do most people limit their suggestions so that one band only appear in on decade? What's the problem? Too many TV series are like that to; the breakthrough decade is what counts; nothing later. You know, the Stones were greater performers in the 70s than the 60s.

For the Stones and the Beatles (in particular) the music obviously was inportant from the start. Remember, radio was the main media in those days, and nobody had heard anything like Please Please Me (the song) before. The music was obviously very important for them breaking through! The most important thing. The image obiously contributed, along with the music, for them to become enormously famou

Jimi, a good guitarist compared to whom? Or/and at what and at what time? In what? In a Stones forum, compared to Keith? Keith (was) a Way better guitarist h in the Keith style way, and the Keith style is the best style if you ask me. However, in the Hendrix way, Jimi was by far the best, no one like him in forty years. That's pretty impressive! I love Jimi. Ilove the Stones; for different

CONGRATULATIONS USA! GREAT! Mind, aslecs, I don't think you should worry about your money. Countries with democratic(!) governments far more left than Barack have opportunities for lower mid class people to become rich by working hard. Don't you worry! Is it fair that some are insanely rich, while others are insanely poor, anyway!? That happens in America today.

Yeah agree to the recent posts. Live they used to top the studio versions often, like Midnight Rambler 1969 - 1973, IORR 1975 - 1989, IYCRM 1975 - 1976, WTWCD 1978, Under Cover Of The Night 1989, Stray Cat Blues 1969, @#$%& 1975 - 76. Under My Thumb 1981/82. and sometimes changed the songs around successfully, Sympathy 1969, You Can't Always Get What You Want 1972 - 73, Gimme Shelter 1972 -

Quotebv Thanks for the input. I will try to make a few but important choices only. The list of "favorite tours" would be something like this: Early 60's 1969-1973 1975-1976 1978 1981-1982 1989-1990 1994-1995 1997-1999-Bridges To Babylon 1999-No Security 2002-2003-Licks 2005-2007-A Bigger Bang This will be a drop-down so that I don't get all sorts of tour names

Macca has been productive. Six new studio albums the last 15 years, and on top of that, his classical things, tours and the Wingsspan documentary. And pretty good quality also, not all, but alot.

Sometimes the 1989-90-voice was great; parts of Atlantic city, and larger chunks of Tokyo 1990. The reason for Webster being so great, is that is was a one off; no gigs in the horizon. The mentioned shows above were broadcast, so he probably gave more than normal. These days, like SAL, like Rio, he doesn't bother to give the little extra even if it is a broadcast show, which I think is disap

QuoteEdward TwiningJagger's voice is certainly very flat these days, and he's certainly lost the raw energy and range he once had. Another problem is as his voice has got lower and flatter so his vocal mannerisms have become more prominant and his exaggerated, overaccentuated voice can get truly irritating at times - to a point of being embarrassing in my opinion. The first time i start

QuotemickschixAnderson, " FLATTER!"??? You've obviously not heard " As Tears Go By" live lately! BETTER! YES, A LOT BETTER, the lyrics are sung with passion and clarity, not spoken or shouted as in the earlier tours of the late 70's and '81 Tour. Ok once in ahile he may shout but when appropriate. He kicks ass on the ballads, and of course I know some here are no

Better singer when protecting his voice and thus singing weaker and flatter live than he used to? Strange!

Ah, great! Elvis was great, on a more or less steady level, all the way throughout mid 1975, and even as late as Christmas 1976 he gave amazing performances, when he was slim for the last times also. He was an amazingly charismatic person.
