I've got a collection of the slowed down tracks somewhere. Some are very convincing, others less so.

The longer the COVID crisis - and the longer they go without performing - the less likely we are to see them live again, certainly on a stadium tour. I do love some of the optimism in these posts, though. Regardless of individual band members' personal preferences, the tour underwriters, etc., would have to be 100% sure that there was no risk. That's a big ask. A year into this th

For sure. I've come to terms with the fact that I may never attend another live Stones show. But maybe I will! Unless we get this pandemic under control, we won't be going to any large gatherings. Maybe in 2022? Who knows? To be honest - and I'm speaking as a lifelong fan - Stones shows are not my main priority at present. They certainly won't risk doingany live sh

Won't happen. Too much risk to international athletes, employees, etc. It's a massive undertaking even behind closed doors. There's been backlash here in Scotland about a football team travelling to Dubai and one of them contracting the virus. At the rates that infections / deaths are increasing, we won't be seeing any large scale events this year (and rightly so).

Very sad. Saw him with the Dolls and solo (was walking with a stick the last time). David Johansen is now the last doll standing.

QuoteGreen Lady I have an appointment for my first shot of vaccine tomorrow afternoon. Not in a big venue but in a health centre just round the corner from the Eel Pie Island museum. Nice surprise - I thought my group wasn't due for weeks yet. 4% of the UK population so far have had at least one vaccination - it's a race against the ever increasing numbers of people in hospital, th

QuoteSomeTorontoGirl Quoteteleblaster Got vaccinated last night in a hall (in Glasgow) which I'd last been inside in 2003 to see the Stones (twice). Hoping you lifted your eyes to the rafters and whispered ‘Haste ye back’ at that moment! Was certainly thinking that and harking back to what now seem like the glory days when we took such pleasures as live music and good company for granted

Quotesteffialicia I'm happy for those who have received their vaccine. Still trying and waiting in Florida, USA. It's an extremely frustrating "system". I got mine as my work is considered an essential service, otherwise I'd also be playing the waiting game.

Watched the footage in disbelief, although all the signs were there leading up to this. When he couldn't win democratically, Trump stirred up civil unrest and this was a direct consequence. Incitement to Riot is a criminal offence in the UK and can result in a ten year prison sentence. There must surely be analogous legislation in the US.

Quote24FPS Quotestrat72 Quote24FPS It proves that even a world famous musician, with rock credibility can be dead wrong. He showed no understanding of the songs. And no, he never wrote anything at good as almost all the tracks on Revolver. A stupid thing to say 24....... Music is subjective, and just because someone does not like something, it does not mean that they are "dead wrong&quo

QuoteAquamarine QuotePaintMonkeyManBlack Golden Earring is really good, saw them a lot of times. Great band (still are!) On topic: it's not about the past, it's about whats left in the tank Also off topic--I saw Golden Earring open for Bob Marley, and at the end the drummer did a forward flip over the drums and stuck the landing. He did this at the Glasgow Apollo and overshot t

QuoteIrix Quotedeeeskannnie Different song. This is a (live) cover of Freddie King's blues number. That's why I already wrote: 'By the Jeff Beck Group, 1972'. Yeah, but you should have written: "By Freddie King, 1971". Keith did a nice version of this at the Guitar Legends Festival in Seville in 1991.

Of the shows attended, Knebworth is a no brainer. Agree with Too Tough about the 2003 arena shows - loved them. Bercy, Ahoy and Glasgow were fantastic.

I was on the Isle of Mull while he was filming Entrapment there. Overheard a huddle of little old ladies in a sweetie shop discussing what he had to drink after his evening meal (it was a Drambuie, apparently). Managed to crash a private party in one of the pubs, but Sean had left by then, although Catherine Zeta Jones was still on the dance floor.

Quotegeorgie48 Yes, 1998 was a unique year for the Netherlands. The Rolling Stones played the Amsterdam Arena none less than five times! I went to all five of them (including one on my 50st birthday!) and in between also saw the crew band. I remember the great athmosphere! A hot place packed with people. Later on that year the Stones came back to "do" the Malieveld in The Hague. That w

I'm holding tickets for a number of rescheduled gigs which look like they'll be rescheduled again. Nothing immediate on the horizon and I find the idea of socially distanced gigs plain weird (although it will suit some venues better than others). Pubs and restaurants are currently closed where I live. Live gigs - whether in a small club or mighty arena - are a very long way off. I d

I reckon this was from the Glasgow Apollo on 10th May, the first of three nights there. My first Stones show and this was definitely what Jagger was wearing that night. Had pro photographers in the box opposite me for the first few numbers and I suspect this was taken from there (the Apollo stage was too high for photographs from the floor). Seen other photos from that show.

Quotehickorywind I was there too . Great memories I wish the whole concert was available in this fantastic quality. Have seen this clip before and have got it saved...somewhere. Shot with a single camera from one of the boxes overlooking the stage (Keith's side), opening number. Photographer probably had to leave after the usual three songs, so maybe a little more footage in existence som
