I rather enjoyed the version from the 2nd O2 show, 2007.

Quotebv I prefer to stay at hotels. They are regulated by the authorities, you may have breakfast in the morning, and there might even be a restaurant on the premises. AirBnB and other apartment rental services are nice for the end user, but they are killing local city culture. Just take a walk in any tourist place like Manarola in Cinque Terre, or Barcelona, and take a look at the people livi

I was in GA and turned up early (about 1 pm) and had a good view and sound throughout despite being further from the stage than I would normally choose. Spent most of the time sitting on the grass, only standing up when a band was on. There was one big surge towards the stage once the Stones were a few songs into their set, so we had to grab our stuff fast (we had anticipated this). Those who

That setlist is more than "slightly tweaked" from the '76 European tour. Bring it on!

Seen her about ten times over the years. Great guitar slinger with a sultry, soulful voice. Mainly blues-based and very good live. She would have been my last pre-covid show, but it was cancelled at short notice for Joanne and her band to return to the States. Unfortunately she's not coming to Scotland when she returns to the UK for a (very) short tour in April.

Really? My understanding is that being fully vaccinated - i.e., both jabs and a booster - still provides more protection against omicron than no jabs (and vice versa, of course). I would agree with slewan's four points.

QuoteMartinB QuotePaddy QuoteDoxa With respect, but outside America this Bennett dude is pretty unknown. No any Sinatra. I think I was kinda aware of musical things, but it took me years to know about him. People like Jagger, Marley etc. are in a totally different category internationally. - Doxa Tony Bennett always came in the same breath as Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis etc... He’s

QuoteBig Al QuoteNate So face masks are being made mandatory in some settings from Tuesday here in the UK including in the buildings of the House of Commons unless you are an MP in which case you are exempt hahahahahaha I only wish there were a hell for these people to go to. Nate And why Tuesday? If things were so desperate, wouldn’t they mandate it from the moment after the announcement? D

QuoteWitness It is not certain beyond doubt, that is, with the large audiences in mind. I agree. Whilst I've always been - and still remain - a massive Chuck Berry fan, I suspect that your average stadium concert attendee would not groove to these 50 plus year old classics. I disagree that they're "too much hard work for them". Chuck Berry is in their DNA!

Café de Klos in Amsterdam serve the most fantastic ribs. Nice old fashioned brown bar with good beer and wine. They also do steaks, baked potatoes, etc., but I went there to try the ribs and I wasn't disappointed.

This is not atypical reporting from the British right wing tabloid press. As an observation, the Stones and their people have always managed to generate maximum publicity and keep their names in the press. Remember a few weeks ago when a load of us were predicting low ticket sales and general doom and gloom? Now the whole world knows that they're on tour in the States and not playing on

QuoteHairball QuoteBig Al QuoteHairball Rumour had it that Mick Taylor was to guest on Little Red Rooster at the Astoria in '03, but after failing to show up at rehearsal earlier in the day the idea was abandoned. Correct me if wrong, but that's the way I remember it...still a good show, but no Mick Taylor... This is probably true. I remember the rumours of his guest appearance. Ev

Quotemrjones Yeah I remember in jersey 2019 he said ate a taylor ham sandwich at tictoc diner. crowd loved it! Diner owner said the place was packed that nite & next a.m. He made reference to eating chips with salt and sauce in Edinburgh 2018. Chips in Scotland are called "fries" in the USA. Salt and sauce is a very Edinburgh way of eating them - the rest of the country goes fo

QuoteDandelionPowderman Did you see the concert, teleblaster – the show from the Apollo, that made the famous live album? No, DP, it was a couple of earlier ones I caught. It was one hell of an atmosphere. Must have been sixteen the first time I saw them. Second time Montrose were the support with Sammy Hagar on vocals - went down a storm too.

Saw Quo a couple of times at the Glasgow Apollo in the seventies. It was the first pro rock band I ever saw and, boy, did they rock that place. A hard working band that played well. Jump forward forty years and I was pleasantly surprised at a Frantic Four reunion (even if I went there to see the support act). Quo almost dipped into self-parody in their mid-years, but back in the day they gave

Been a devotee since 73. Had been harbouring a hope he'd pull through. Saw him many times live - always a pleasure and a life-affirming experience. Sitting with tickets for a twice rescheduled show in Edinburgh. Will raise a glass to John tonight and, later, on the night of the rescheduled show.

QuoteLeonidP It was done live, I know I have it w/ Ronnie singing, so I am guessing it was New Barbarians, but I'd have to check ... of course Bill did not play w/ them so still seems like a mistake. I also remember Keith playing it with The Faces.
