QuoteDoxa Okay, out of curiosity I did some research, and I get to conclusion that the first 'cold end' edit of the song derives from the 1984 'digital reissues' series, which was the first CD version of it. (The series that for the very first time ever offered also BEGGARS BANQUET in a toilet cover). The handy criterion in judging if it is a 'cold end' version is th

I got a rather long mail from the gentleman who used to work at the record plant. I will just pick a few points from his message, rewritten with my own comments added, his words inside “quotation marks” There was absolutely no interest from Decca management to issue pop music in good quality. It was just kids music so there was no need to put in the quality in them. “as Deccas stance at the ti

G'd evening. Too many jou-jou people around here and not very many collectors and I don't want to start a new topic for this so I just keep going on here. Coz this is something that may interest collectors of UK vinyls only. Anyone ever been wondering why Big Hits and Satanic UK pressings has blue labels for mono and green labels for stereo? Definition as per Decca management i

Quoteironbelly Doxa There are two different recordings of Tell Me on the first LP. Tell Me short version. This one plays only 2,52 minutes and is a totally different take than the long one. Jaggers singing and Bills bass are clearly different. The rumour is that the producer by mistake used the wrong demo tape for the acetate. Tell Me is on B side of the LP and the matrix number is XARL6

This one has been on my number ONE spot of all Stones songs now for the past 15 years or so. I am so glad that I got this one live again in Hyde Park a few weeks back. Remember going to London in November for the first O2 gig. I was on the flight going through what songs I really wanted to get live and this was the first one on my list. I was not sure if they would do it as it was sadly missing

Quotekpl I have listened and watched the CYHMK from Glastonbury several times. In my opinion it is the best version of the 5 performannces so far. It sounded fresh and sophisticated. MT live elevates the musical boundaries of thhe band.I also thought that this version also had great cntributions from Charlie and Keith. The evolution f. CYHNK on this tour reminds me of MT's impact on YOu can

Normal stereo pressing. There are actually two different stereo labels that has the Jobete/Carlin Music text. This one is on grooved label which means it was pressed in 1967 or 1968.

QuoteRicky Quotetreaclefingers That is my understanding of this variation as well...I believe I've read it was for export market, Germany(?), early 70s. I have a GYYYO version of this, with Mick Taylor autograph! ...or an export for the european market, early 70s. Ask Jan Richardsson (http://www.stonesondecca.com/index.html) There was a set of white label LP's issued in the ea

aaah, vinyls, my no 1 format to enjoy music. To hold a vinyl cover in my hands and look, smell, feel, touch it... Here is one of my first LP's that I bough around the time of its release in 1973. This was my no 1 band in the 70's, SLADE I was about 12 years old when I bought it and having a look on the line of amps behind the band... brrrr Then 25 years later I ended up work

Quotegotdablouse @The Worst - sorry to hear Rob hasn't been in touch, odd since he said he was "taking care of us like no one's ever done"...so for a refund it's probably best to do what bartfrombrussels did apparently and contact frontgate directly. I think I might ask for a £100 refund of the now (even more) useless "Unwind Backstage Bar" for a start and see w

Quotebartfrombrussels I answered this: I still want a complete refund for my Tier 2 access - Unwind backstage bar for 299 + 29,90 (service charges) + 30 (delivery) = 358,90 £ for the Rolling Stones show on the 6th of July because I bought the ticket with this understanding "GA Tier 2 – access to an area closer to the stage than general admission" and not "Tier 2 will have acce

Quotebeepee2 QuoteRik Quotesteffiestones The promoters and the management are responable for this fiasco, not the Stones themselves...my opinion. The Rolling Stones organisation is responsable, just like AEG is. You mean the Stones should have refrained from wanting GA T3 to be at the front ? Well yes naturally. That is what this issue is all about

Have you heard Exile On Main St? haha, I have about 20 copies of Exile on vinyl. But for me that is actually not a very good album. SF is far superior. But lets not open that discussion again I will modify my statement a b

QuoteIGTBA AEG is owned by Phil Anschutz, a billionaire, whose holding company is located in Denver, CO - where I live. If this does not get resolved in an acceptable way for Tier 1 & 2 purchasers, within a few days, I plan to visit their office and not leave until I can make a personal complaint with a responsible officer. The office is located at 555 17th St., Ste. 2400 Denver, CO 80202

This bar thing that they charged an extra £100 for. "BARCLAYCARD UNWIND BACKSTAGE BAR " Seams as if I have access to this bar located far away from the stage. But then when inside the bar. Do I still have to pay £10 for a rom drink or do I get it for free? I mean, I paid a £100 for getting in there, but do I get anything more that the access to it? In that case, this will probably be t

Quotelatvianinexile Why is it that it's this band that always finds new and innovative ways to cheat their most loyal fans!? This is so ubelievable!!! Exactly my thinking as well. It is amazing that they still after 50 years find new ways to screw their loyal fans! But I guess that music is not the only thing in Rock'n Roll

What Jagger says is basically that we who can afford to pay more for a ticket are not as good fans as those who cannot afford a £200+ ticket?? So lets put the boring rich guys on the side so that they can hang in the bar area. Actually I find something admirable in that logic of Jagger's thinking... Seriously, I think ther

Quotetreaclefingers QuoteRollingSebas My 1A/1A pressing has the cover from photo 3, but without the bending of the paper strip. So I expect the cover on photo 3 need to be the 1st. Or because my cover doesn't have the bended paper strip, it means this is a 5th cover version? I expect the vinyl / cover combinations aren't so chronological as we hope. Good lord this is quite a morass.
