I don't think that it's cancellation of these particular European dates that worries folks. It's the fear that it may be the end...rather than "...sorry folks, but we'll come back in 2007 and do it " That's the reason for all the grasping at straws and speculation. We just don't see this as a fitting end... and are willing it not to happen.

Part of the classic Stones sound is having an acoustic guitar humming away somewhere in the mix. On many songs it's audible at little above a subconscious level... but it adds to the swing and texture of the whole groove.

Shortly after that he seems to have fallen back in love with all the classic "vintage" designs. I was quite surprised to see him with that Tom Anderson on the Licks tour. One strength of the Shubb is that it has finely adjustable fretting force [applied by way of that screw visible in Open-G's kindly posted picture. Once you get the hang of using it, it's quite easy to pop it on and off without having to retune. Not a problem for Keith of course...but most of us don't have somebody to hand us another guitar, tuned for the next song ;^)
