Article about new book Parachute Women I don't agree with the author's assessment of Anita. Past a certain point, her influence on Keith, her children and the RS was entirely toxic. Publisher: Parachute Women () Hachette Book Group Parachute Women Marianne Faithfull, Marsha Hunt, Bianca Jagger, Anita Pallenberg, and the Women Behind the Rolling Stones

I've told this story before...some people here have not believed it, but I'm sure it's true. A close friend of mine was at the 1995 Johannesburg show, sitting in the first few rows. She was just casual fan, not hardcore. At the end of the show, two staff members came up to her and said that Keith had invited her to come backstage. She was in her early 30s, blonde and pretty. She

Mick does have a lot of charm and charisma and I think he really understands women.L'Wren was madly in love with him, even after 12 years together, right til the bitter end.

One I like is 'The Rolling Stones: Off the Record' by Mark Paytress. It is a collection of early interviews, where Mick and Keith are a lot more forthcoming and radical than they were in later years. My favourite Stones book is Spanish Tony's 'Down and Our with the Rolling Stones.' I also like Philip Norman's early bio because he has interviews with people who

QuoteTheflyingDutchman Some small talk: According to Taylor's first wife Rose, Tony got caught in Taylor's bedroom stealing jewellery. I didn't know Tony was around during the Taylor years. Yes, at Nellcote.

Tony's book is valuable because it is one by someone who was intimately involved with the RS during their most interesting and most productive time, not cobbled together from others' first hand reports. Others include Marianne, Bill German, Prince Rupert, Andrew Loog Oldham, June Shelley, Chris O'Dell, Shirley Arnold, Chet Flippo, Stanley Booth, Robert Greenfield (marginal) and

I look forward to seeing this, either online or in a cinema. But any serious follower of RS history will not be surprised at the content. Spanish Tony and Barbara Charone painted a clear picture of Keith and Anita's squalid life. Additionally, Keith had a nanny at Nellcote and Switzerland, June Shelley, who also wrote a book about it. Even When it Was Bad...It Was Good

He was in a doc about British blues, (Red, White and Blues) Excerpt from Red, White and Blues and he was unbelievable. No one ever thought of him as a blues singer but his voice for the blues is phenomenal.

I saw the Cure some years ago, and it was one of the best concerts ever even though I'm not a huge fan of the band. Robert Smith loves performing and he loves his fans. He sang his heart out for three hours.

Jerry is by all accounts kind, well-liked, and a good mother. I can't imagine why she ever hooked up with Murdoch; surely she had enough money to live well.

That trial was a disgrace, nothing but a money-grab from (dead) Marvin Gaye's family. They were hoping for a pay-off to go away. They had no basis for a lawsuit; there was no plagiarism.

It's not the first dust-up Jade's had. She was drunk and disorderly on a plane, in first class. She really looks like shit; what has happened to her? Not impressed with the bf either.

I look forward to seeing this when it's available online. I hope it isn't all whitewash, because for much of her adult life at least, Anita was a toxic and destructive force.

I adored Christine McVie and loved FM's early work. In fact, I bailed on them when Nicks and Buckingham joined and they became a pop band with a horribly nasal lead vocalist. Gone too soon!

I wouldn't go anywhere without bodyguards around me. The way people now authorise themselves to do whatever anti-social thing comes into their heads, I'd always be worried about being attacked or killed.

Can a trial ever end in a draw/tie? It is clear that they were equally abusive and neither was compelled to remain. Or, if a winner must be declared, a token payment of $1 awarded, with each one paying their own legal expenses.

Johnny idolised Keith. I think he befriended Marlon just so he could get into Keith's orbit. And he did all he could to emulate him, to the extent of getting his very own Anita.

I imagine Keith has had some serious wake-up calls over the last 10 years and has had to exit relationships that were primarily based on alcohol/drug consumption. His family may have had a say in the matter as well. You wrote a nice headline” Keith Richar

I'm sure Mick follows a specific diet for stamina and health, but he has said he can eat anything he likes without risk of gaining weight.
