Out Of Time should replace YCAGWYW as a singalong track in the set.

QuoteCaptainCorella One odd snippet from the text. In Bill Wyman's "Stone Alone" (P 419 in my edition) he recounts (& still does) that the band's hotel bill - by amazing co-incidence - was exactly the same as their fee for the show. No mention of that in the text, but there's much told of a "rumour" that they were being paid in Vodka, but that failed wh

An interesting article about these shows appeared on the Polish Institute Of National Remembrance page. The article is devoted to the actions taken by the Citizens’ Militia in connection with these concerts and also presents the background, proceedings and consequences of the riots that accompanied the band’s performances. The author used little known documents from the INR Archive, memoirs, pres

How funny! Yesterday I was browsing Stones bootlegs on YT and came across audio of this show. Then I read some stories about it and watched other footage. I was surprised how terribly organized this festival was. Maybe even worse than Altamont but nobody got killed in front of the cameras so it was not that famous and people largely have forgotten about this festival. Some interesting reading

I think Steve plays closer to the studio versions, especially in Satisfaction and Street Fighting Man.

In Hyde Park 69 they had back up percussionists. In 69/70 the song was highly rearragned, in 75/76 they had Ollie Brown on percussion. And since 89 they use prerecording track. I wonder if it's the same track.

QuoteDoxa I wonder if any of the classic rock artists from the 60's has have any real 'hits' since the 80's. Kokomo was a big hit for The Beach Boys in 1988...

Quoteyearsinthemaking I was listening to the Emotional Rescue album (quite underrated) and I was trying to remember what song was added when they decided at the last minute to leave off "Claudine"? I can remember some radio broadcast at the time saying that the Stones were worried about legal troubles from Claudine Longet but I don't recall the replacement song. My suspicion is

Quotekovach Isn't South Africa's vaccination rate a lot higher than the rest of Africa though?? Well, SA's vaccination rate IS higher than most of African countries (except for Tunisia and Morocco), but still dramatically low.

Quotepftw04 Of course I really feel this year is last. Not because of their age but due to sudden loss of Charlie I'm sure they'll celebrate their 60th anniversary next year. It would be pointless to quit right now after they've gone so far.

Was it the first time they did Sad Sad Sad without Mick playing guitar? I think he always played a guitar on it (at least in 89-90 and 19 shows).

At Altamont they added Brown Sugar and The Sun Is Shining during the show. 2021 warmpup gig setlist included SFM but not played.

You gotta give credit to Steve Jordan for this. It was the right decision to go on tour with him. Sure, we all love Charlie and we will miss Charlie. He got the swing and he got the groove. But when you watch the shows from 2017-19 he slowed them down. Now they got the kick and fresh energy. With Steve I feel that Mick and Keith can tour well into their 80s.

After so many bad things, that happened in the last two years - covid, postponements, Charlie's passing - it's unbelievably great to feel the tour excitement once again! Great fun to everyone who's in St. Louis tonight!

Quotegostonesforever First time I've heard the Jagger brothers performing together. Fun tune too. Enjoy. Great song, and the entire album too! It's not the first time Mick sang on his brother tune tough. A couple of years ago they performed Concertina Jack from one of the Chris's albums.

QuoteStonesfan2146 This section will be interesting, as I don't know if they'd like to play Midnight Rambler without Charlie. They could rahter play another 10min song where many different solos (Mick on harmonica, Karl Denson on Sax, Ronnie on guitar) can try to hide Charlies absense. 13. Can't You Hear Me Knocking I think they should play Slave. A: With the new reissue of

While mourning the death of Charlie some seem to forget that Mick, Keith, Ronnie, Darryl and others are human beings and they are alive and have their plans and opinions. The Rolling Stones are not us. We don't have any right to decide what they should do. If they want to continue they will. They've been doing this for almost 60 years now and who are we to tell them to stop? It's l

Quotegotdablouse It's unlikely they thought he would be gone less than 3 weeks after that announcement... Maybe you're right, but they might as well be aware that it could be not that easy for him to recover. If indeed it was a cancer there are a lot of different factors: surgery, chemo, radiotherapy etc. Each of this procedure may be risky, especially when you're 80 with past hi

QuoteDeeGee German Rolling Stone wrote about „Cancer of the throat“ https://www.rollingstone.de/charlie-watts-fragen-zur-todesursache-des-rolling-stones-drummers-2347917/ If it's true, it means that when the Stones announced they would tour without Charlie, they were expecting the worst.

I listened to "Kissin' Cousins" by Elvis Presley recently and those lyrics did not age well: Well I've got a gal, she's as cute as she can be She's a distant cousin but she's not too distant with me We'll kiss all night I'll squeeze her tight But we're kissin' cousins 'n that's what makes it all right
