QuoteGlam Descendant By your logic they never should have revisited CYHMK, since it stayed "dropped from the setlist" for over 30 years (presuming they did actually play it in 1971). Why attempt to douse others' enthusiasm to hear a song they've never seen performed on stage? Here, here. Moonlight Mile and Sway both fall into this category(I'm hugely grateful to have see

Fool on the Hill was fantastic for me. I thought her voice and phrasing were tremendous. I didn't see every performance, but I thought Imagine Dragons were aggressively bland and boring. I also can't see any reason to be hostile about the shirt. I'm sure Paul and Ringo were fine with it.

Absolutely ridiculous assertion. I've seen both plenty of times, and like DEmerson said, "I'd never go to China to see Bruce",but while the E Street band has a large horn section, to say that he relies on the horn section is insane. The guitar playing in the band is and always has been impeccable. Whether Steve Van Zandt or Nils Lofgren, Bruce or the amazing Tom Morello. The h

This guy William M Smith says Billy Preston opened the evening show in Houston. Is that true? First I've heard of that.

Not sure how TW is a put on. To me, he is the greatest artist of his time. Since his first album in 1973, I don't think anyone has out paced him with the exception of Led Zeppelin. His songwriting has been incredibly satisfying to my ears, mind and soul equally.

"There's a (early) version of it on "Mahoney's Last Stand" as well (Wood/Lane album that came out after IGMOATD)". What's the name of this early version? I don't recognize it from the song list of MLStand.

Yes, I too am perplexed about this. SFTD from Detroit? Never heard about this, nor have I ever heard about Little Queenie being from Detroit. Always thought that was an outtake from NYC. Does anyone have more information?

Nothing turned up in the search about this, but I can't believe it hasn't been talked about before. Amazing stuff. What a huge inventory of material. So much to look through, and I'm just getting started, but it looks promising as hell.

Woo Hoo! What a night. Just got back to Philly after spending the night driving around NYC looking at some of Banksy's work; now I've got standing room for both nights!Sometimes things just work out.

Just got off the phone with the Cutting Room. Info will be on their website by 10am tomorrow. It feels to me that tix will also go on sale then. They did say there would be one private show, so like others have said, probably will be the Thursday show.

QuoteCristiano Radtke I just found this one, of Mick with Mick Jones, via Corbis images. On "The Future is Unwritten" documentary, Joe Strummer talks about how the Stones music changed his life, or something like that. Pretty sure this is the Who's Last tour, 1982 (sponsored by Schlitz beer-God awful piss). JFK Stadium Philadelphia.

After reading Linda Keith's words (I can't tell from the story if these are recent quotes in relation to the movie or not) I thought I'd post this by Jimi's much longer term girlfriend, Kathy Ethchingham. I wasn't there, but her story sounds very plausible to me. I'm always leary of projects that don't have permission to use the real music, but then the Hendrix

QuoteRollingFreak I love Ya Yas but I have to imagine there's quite a bit of overdubbing. I'm not very good at pointing that stuff out, but it all sounds REALLY good and I kind of question the whole thing when there's proof of at least a few overdubs. I still listen to the album and think "it might be a bit doctored, but its still epic". Hell, I love Kiss's Alive alb

One album I haven't seen mentioned that I really love came out in 1982 on CBS record called The Jimi Hendrix Concerts. I don't know if it's available anymore but it had amazing versions of Are You Experienced, Little Wing and IMO, the best Voodoo Child. All the original sources are probably out in their full show versions now, but at the time it was an absolute gold mine.
