Quotemtaylor Bill Wyman knocked unconscious by an electrical shock from a microphone stand 1965. I guess you can say the microphone was malfunction. Never heard about this. Do you know where and when it happened?

QuoteTheGreek QuoteMathijs QuoteTheGreek Mathijs totally wrong about Keith and the amount of instruments used live on stage between 69-89 . Keith used more than 2-4 instruments per show . sometimes i wonder how you make this stuff up .our eyes do not lie to us and i am sure there are others here that will verify this as FACT. Really? 1969: Dan Armstrong for standard tuning, LP Custom for op

Monkey Man in the middle break down part was always a part of my high school bong sessions. We'd all wait for it and air drum it together.

Quotestonehearted Also worth mentioning is Hand Of Fate--love the way his drums change tempo during the guitar solo parts, each time with a different groove and hi hat signature. Hear, hear! Love Crazy Mama and Everything is Turning to Gold as well.

Quote Philly 2 last year. After the show, my wife (she's seen the Stones about 15 times since 81) asks "who was that guitarist . . . he stole the show." (referring to CYHMK, which has disappeared). you are right, we cannot have that. What do you mean "disappeared"? A quick YouTube check and it's right there. I too am tremendously disappointed as that show was

Hello. Can someone please explain how to add an image to a post? I've tried using the add image tab and copying and pasting the URL, but I just keep getting the text of the location with no image. Tried saving to my phone and copying too, but no luck. Thanks.

As this is my favorite show of the 25 I've seen, I look forward to hearing the soundboard and hopefully a great quality video. I cannot fathom DCBA's take on the 94 tour, however. I love it. They found, for me, the sweet pocket of looseness and discipline. Imaginative setlists, great enthusiasm, and perfect staging, lighting and wardrobe (save the SFMan skirt!). Only No Security rivals

Here's what I could find : The single The single was planned in advance by Phil Carson from the London office of Atlantic Records. The manager of Led Zeppelin, Peter Grant, was unaware of what was about to transpire until Grant received word that over 500 singles had been pressed and had been shipped to Manchester for distribution. Grant had stipulated to Carson that under the contract

Has anyone noticed this guy before? I've read the tracktalk thread of Rip This Joint and it seems that Dixie Dean, an old time footballer (soccer) from the 20's and 30's with Everton F.C., is the accepted inspiration for the line. However, after looking into the Ginger Baker thread, watching a Jack Bruce video and finding out he was in the Blues Breakers for a minute before John Mc

I'll take a shot here- SCBlues: I definitely think that's the worst of the bunch. I have a 13 y.o. niece and would definitely be driven to violence if anyone came near her like that, rock star or not. A real shame, because I love that tune and I think the lyrics have held that out of the rotation. I don't see anything wrong with the Ali McGraw line. I'm sure that's j

Pretty interesting point. I think Hot Stuff, Crazy Mama and Hey Negrita are straight lip synchs, but all the rest are live vocals over the backing track. IORR, being a totally different take without live vocal.

This line of thinking has all the desperation and insecurity of someone who was recently challenged by someone or something which revealed a deep lack of conviction in their own beliefs and likes, and consequently spun 180 deg. around to the most intellectual form of art they could handle (the pretentious bit about classical). This is usually seen in 1st or 2nd year college students (mostly p

Quoterob51 So much of Ya Ya's was overdubbed. All my childhood I believed this was how good the Stones actually were. Than I woke up and realized they'd never sounded that good in their lives and I had to learn to deal with that. Overdubbing most of their best ever live album really disappointed me and I never looked at them the same way again. Even the Rolling Stones were fake. I g

I'm not surprised by how many people mistakenly believe all kinds of crappola, but I didn't say anything like that. Both you and Lem Mottlow called me out about GP's lack of Apartheid fighting sincerity, when the point I was quite clearly making was KR's affirmation about how wrong it was to go to South Africa. Whether a 24 year old man's opinion has any relevance to

Nobody, at least not me, is making any such claims. KR is the one doing all the talking in the story I quoted. GP probably did use it as an excuse to hang. What does that have to do with KR's statement (which is entirely relevant to the discussion here)?

Actually, didn't they listen to the music community in the 60's and not play South Africa? I'm not an authority on the Israeli situation by any means, so I'm not sure about the validity of Waters viewpoint, but to dismiss it out of hand because "They don't care what anyone says", (a sort of variation on "We piss anywhere man!), seems incorrect to me. Actually, I'd say that they were of vital importance to keeping the Stones rolling (sorry, it was there; I had to take it). It laid out the template for all future shows and renewed MJ's interest in working with Keith after, what I suspect, coming very close to saying fuk it altogether. Check this interview from 1987. It really is interesting to read where his mind was at the time.

Quotewith sssoul QuoteLady Jayne Good to see photos of Keith in particular looking lively and well after a very long flight back in Kent Funny that they haven't caught on that the chappie in the cap at the Perth airport was a red herring, not the Mick at all. Are we sure about that? I get the impression he flew with them to Abu Dhabi, then onto LA by himself.
