Really sad story here about the fiddle player from Country Honk. Hopefully, it will be a story of late life re-connection with old friends and community rallying. I saw him years ago in a little town in NorCal called Newcastle, with my buddy Jimmy Whitley (Cardinal Fang from Rocks Off). They were fantastic. Best wishes to him.

QuoteI had a free ticket to see that taping, but decided against going for one reason or another. They had Hollywood Blvd. closed off in front of the theater where Kimmel is taped with thousands of people, and a special stage was built. Have been to several other free Kimmel tapings for just the musical guests (David Gilmour and ELO), but those were in the back lot of the theater with only about

Quotehopkins Quoteschillid Beggars Banquet unmatched. agreed; that slashing guitar work is profound and thuddingly spectacular, as far as emotion and 'mean it!" goes, imo too. also, for me anyway, the "Liver Than You'll Ever Be" performance (of both Keith and Mick Taylor) was profound to me. This was prior to GYYYO live (studio - 'fixeed,' in post-production

QuoteGazza Seriously? Who other than a few nerds and completists are going to buy a couple of cds of half-arsed rehearsals? And rehearsals from a time when the shows themselves were pretty ropey at that What next? Silkcut78's 'bathroom tape' from the Matthias-Keller in Vienna in 1982 of Keith and Ronnie harmonising on 'Sea of Love' whilst having a piss? Well,

Hello fellow IORR's. I've got a problem and looking for possible solutions. I'm currently on the crew of a production of Henry IV starring Tom Hanks. We have a cookout on Sunday where everyone can get something signed and a pic with Tom. I'm trying to find SNL Season 14 Episode 1- Tom hosting, Keef is the guest. Can't find it on Amazon, Netflix or the NBC site. They just

QuoteBjorn This could be a great tour...just like 2012-2013...sober, focused and on british soil...I´m looking forward to tomorrow! As someone of Scottish descent, just want to point out a small but important detail - nobody in Dublin is on "British" soil.

QuoteCooltoplady QuoteHairball Greg dropped out because of illness, and his replacement was the inferior Johnny Lang...(?) ...or maybe Kenny Wayne Shepard? (I confuse those two all the time). lang and Shepard are nothing alike. Why would they take a keyboardist place anyway? They are guitarist. I'm pretty sure Hairball means that they replaced Gregg on that night's bill and whi

Quotekowalski Technically not a real b-side, but Under The Radar was great when appearing as a bonus track to the reissue of A Bigger Bang... Yes it was, and I quite liked We Don't Wanna Go Home as well, however I think EITTGold stands heads and shoulders above the rest with Child of the Moon and Think I'm Goin Mad filling out the top 3.

QuoteMonsoon Ragoon Quotestonehearted On an Eric Clapton site there is a set list of 12 songs for the gig, along with the names of who played on each track. In addition, it mentions a bootleg recording under the title "The Rolling Stones & Friends – Ian Stewart Memorial (Label Unknown – 1 CD)". From: That CD would be a sensation. But I'm pretty sure it doesn't exist.

Quotepowerage78 QuoteSpud In my view, everything we've had from the band over the last 10 years or so has been a bonus. We've had some great shows and now we've had the unexpected and excellent B&L album. 1/ Yes for B&L, great album 2/ NO for the shows at the end of 2016. IMO Coachella shows were very disappointing (Keith). I agree Coachella was, but Vegas certainly

Fascinating stuff scottkeef. I asked Chris Charlesworth of Melody Maker and he asked his friend Andy Neil. (https://www.amazon.com/Andy-Neill/e/B001K896ZQ) Andy says: In 1990, a minor news story arose regarding a case against a bootlegger being brought by the BPI and MPL, Paul’s company. The bootlegger’s weak defense was that McCartney had gone on record in a past interview stating that he

Yes, but I'm trying to find as much accurate info on this show as possible; it just happens to be the thread title that came up when I googled it. I have also messaged Chris Charlesworth, Chris Welch and Billy's drummer, Manny Kellough to see if they have any thoughts, but whether they'll re

Still trying to find info on this legendary show and wondering if anyone might have old Melody Maker issues in their vaults (or attic or garage). The article only seems to be available at the RocksBackPages site, but at $90 for a 3 month subscription, my interest can't overcome my wallet's limitations. Just in case anyone is interested and didn't see the great pic from the 100 club that Bill German posted on Facebook- Also he stated that the Macca thing is fiction- No recording has ever surfaced, and the story about Paul McCartney is pure fiction. (Alternative facts!) I can state unequivocally that Macca was not in the house. Whether someone slipped a tiny tape recorder in their pock

I would think that every serious fan has seen Rewind, and as far as I can recall, there are only a total of a few extra minutes of the museum schtick, the boneheaded Brown Sugar vid and and the unedited Undercover v

QuoteHairball Haha - Mick should have named it Lets Not Go There! And then there's Julian Lennon - almost surprised he hasn't gone that route as he looks and sounds like his dad - he could do a John Lennon/Beatles tribute in Vegas for the rest of his life, and I'm sure many would enjoy it. Instead he's opted to stick with his very mediocre career of unmemorable record

The most satisfying tune on the album for me. Atmosphere for miles. Almost want to write a movie script just to create a scene that displays this haunting spell.
