Bennie Goodman--they are showing his bio-movie on Turner Classic Movies--pretty cool, pretty different (for me) and the music smoke--excellent selection for a Sunday nite.

Elmo---all true. However, the greatness of this record, is that it still stands up (and quite well) over 25 yrs later--pretty good music for that to be the case. The songs ARE great--the Stones give you a little bit of everything on this one--huge part of the reason why it holds up so well--which is possibly as good a compliment as anyone can make about a record more than 25 yrs old.

There ya go! Here in the north east we are rejoicing over breaking 50 degrees--lol Of course, that is farenheit, but I apologize, I am only an American and we don't give a f--- about anyone else--just ask around on the board. LOL

Great record--one of the most underrated, imo, in the Stones canon. Rooster, may be able to help you on this.

Apparently, others (skyhawk) interpret it to be how the USA does whatever it wants and then simply hordes it over eveyone else, including, quite apparently, the country in which he/she resides. If you are buying it with the thought of putting another pickup in it--ie; not making it an Esquire--why not look for a Telecaster that already has 2 pickups?

Well, that rules out Mick as the "owner". The thing is--if you cannot release this why in the world would you drop that kind of money on something that could not possibly recoup the initial investment? And Tomcat is right--if you go the "boot" route--the torrents would make it virtually impossible to break even. Very strange.......

Same here--I saw the Dick Cavett response and thought to myself--"Yep". I have those two songs from a dvd I bought on eBay a while back so did not feel the need to watch a "you tube" version. But, I must say---very exciting. My question is--why would you pay "big bucks" if you were not going to at least try to parlay that into some sort of release, boot or othe

I can get excited about most things that contain the following in their title---"1959" and "Gibson Les Paul" I mean I could certainly get excited about an early '50's Fender Telecaster Esquire. And those Fender reproductions of EVH's original Frankenstrat are pretty damn exciting too.

Yeah, a guitar with one pickup is kind of hard to get overly excited about.

Where has it been said he could not even pick up a guitar? Or that he couldn't play one? Or that he would embarass himself? You realize that, by his own admission he has been an alcoholic since he was a teenager. As someone who considers EVH as a player who has taken his well earned spot on the pantheon of guitar greats; I am glad to see him get help and attempt to get his life in or

Classic Stones, for me the '78 versions are the best. And, I am glad they did not do this during Sticky Fingers--think it is much better with Ronnie than it would have been with Mick T--actually feel that way about the entire Some Girls record. Perfectly captures NYC in the late '70's and to an extent is still eblematic of it today. One of the best NYC songs ever written.

Excellent read--thanks for posting Rockman. Isn't it odd, that no matter who the person is, when it comes to recovery it is always "...3 mths since I...." Seriously, w/o fail that's the way it goes. I am not saying it is BS in Ronnie's case, I am not there, how would I know. What I do know is that it has always been ".... months since I last...."
