One of those questions that are "time and place", meaning the answer is very fluid and could change depending upon when asked. Stones--Sway Others: Page--Stairway--from Song Remains the Same Steely Dan (Elliot Randall)----Reeling in the Years Van Halen---Eruption Jeff Beck---Cause We've Ended as Lovers Big Bill Broonzy---St Louis Blues Django Rheinhardt---LImehouse B

Mathijs--that post was very heart felt, very sad, and unfortunately, too close to the truth. I listened to a couple of boots of the ABB Tour--it was not enjoyable........ Actually,--I heard one of the Beacon shows--dreadful. I am constantly amazed at proclaimations as to how great their performance was at "fill in the blank" show. I certainly do not expect a '78 or '81

Digging into the archives, huh, Nik? Guess, it is better than being in the pool hall, unless you are using that time to separate some of your fellow students from their money--that makes it an enterprising venture and time well spent; no pun intended.

I agree with you IF, and it is a big "if" you are talking about a "lossless" format. If so I agree, if not, then I see a difference--the reason I limit by bootleg purchases to "silvers". To me, sonically, there is a difference between an mp3-type format and a pressed silver cd.

My problem is sort of the reverse...I own a lot of things I wish I didn't. lol Up until recently, would have said Elmore James and/or Big Bill Broonzy, but took both of them off the list last weekend.

Well done on the button pressing there Nik! lol Pretty amazing for a band that has been defunct for over 26 yrs. For some reason Zeppelin seems to be far more popular with today's "youth" than the Stones, which always struck me as odd since the Stones are still a going concern. But, even when I was in high school, Zeppelin was already over and they were more popular. Very str

Big Bill Broonzy---St Louis Blues. Just got it from iTunes--smoking acoustic blues. Can hear where he influenced Clapton.

Gazza--agree with your post, but there is another dynamic at work---the almost extortionate prices they charge for tickets. This, essentially eliminated many of those fans who would have recognized Sway and Worried About You. Those people were replaced by far more casual, albeit, more affluent fans who did not know the music beyond the hits and WORSE expected the juke-box like set lists, which th

Growing up--Mott the Hoople Live was one of my most-played records. Band was already defunct by then but I saw Ian Hunter live 2x in the mid '80's---funny thing is he opened with Once Bitten each time--guess some things do not change. lol Back then, he had a really good guitar player, whose name escapes me. Very tall guy who played a strat and later had his own hit.

All true, no doubt--if you read my posts---I have maintained, consistently, "getting better" is the most important thing. I just fail to see, absent, any evidence to the contrary, how holding up rehab a week, to a life long alcoholic, is somehoe outcome determitive. But, Jeez, I am not a Dr. Just not sure that playing at the RnR Hall of Fame and rehab, in EVH's case, is someh
