QuoteIrix QuoteBjorn The night time is the right time - played only once? Didn´t they play that one almost every night 2005? Yes, it was played very often in 2005-2006: - (Review). Personally I find Setlist.fm rather unreliable. setlist.fm has it (apart from this one entry) as "The Right Time (Nappy Brown cover)". Played 58 times

I'm really positively surprised by this deluxe treatment. The 100 years demo is fantastic and the two instrumentals are great. I was expecting them to be close to the album version (even fearing that it might be just the album take without vocals)...

At first listen I did not really like Mick's new vocals, but now I'm getting more and more into it. Also a bit of a pity that Nicky's piano is buried in the mix, always loved that about the outtake version.

Quotejbwelda Not at all clear what is going on here...does that twatter post somehow mean they are releasing a single of Criss Cross or something? Or just some "hey look at us" twaddle? jb It means that they're releasing a music video for Criss Cross tomorrow, which most probably will be the single for the GHS deluxe (as it was the case with PMS for Exile deluxe and no spare p

I'd rather see Keith with the Vox guitar or the Gibson V or the plexiglass or even something Yamaha before that He played a dan Armstrong plexiglass for one or more shows in 2007

Quoterollmops Lot of pictures that are not well known here. The 1969 ones, at The Olympic studio are amazing. It tells the story of Let it Bleed. Mick, Keith, Charlie and Bill working their instrument while Brian stands looking at them, hands in his pocket, not participating. But there is one where Brian is seating on the floor, guitar in hands with a smile on his face, probably getting ready to

that's very interesting and seems to be another (final?) puzzle in the recording of exile. The Track Talk at Timeisonourside also has just about the same quote from bobby Whitlock (apparently send to them per email last year)

QuoteFour Stone Walls To Erik Snow, re WTBG. respectable was great social satire and ofcourse e real- life exerience. Lies was a bit lightweight but unpretentious fun. Sorry Sir, I misread you post to someone else. Will amend later. Pardon. WTBG was silly because it was MJ doing a Jimmy Pursey impersonation and is totally unconvincing. Nor is it it convincing that he's one of the lads

From that interview (slewan just linked above): I: A reference to the Rolling Stones makes it into “I Contain Multitudes.” Just as a lark, which Stones songs do you wish you could’ve written? BD: Oh, I don’t know, maybe “Angie,” “Ventilator Blues” and what else, let me see. Oh yeah, “Wild Horses.” Interesting that he mentioned VB between the other two well known ballads

So unless The Paragons stole it from Keith in 1967, probably not a lot of truth to that story. Sorry, it's not what I suggested Rumour is Keith covered the Paragons'song during a studio session during the late seventies (ok then, not the Winos), mayb

Given that Mick listens a lot to hip hop as it seems, its quite telling that he prefers to put rappers on songs instead of doing it himself (talk about knowing what you're good at), like with Skepta on England Lost or the then never realized collaboration with Missy Elliot on Hide Away

If I remember correctly, Keith claimed that he had recorded a demo version of the song that was circulating around in NY in the end of the 70ies and Blondie somehow got the idea to cover this song in a more pop-oriented way from his demo. Maybe it was in Bockris Keith Bio. I don't know. I remember that it seemed quite questionable to me, when I first read it.

Well I really like this new song and it reminds me of a lot of stones songs, apart from all those already mentioned in this thread, the part in the bridge reminded me on if I was a dancer (“the radio…”, I think it’s just mick’s pronunciation) But there’s another thing that’s on my mind since yesterday, which is the contrast between the stones’ current public image and their contemporary studio w
