The 81/82 tour was indeed great. However, the mix here is very poor. No more Sam Wheat, please!

No Sam Wheat, but Bob Clearmountain! We can hope! Maybe they do read our reviews on this website.

QuoteSighunt QuoteRobertJohnson I agree completely. Many thanks for your efforts and your time. I would still emphasize as an argument for a complete release of all three concerts that the band never played the songs in the same way back then, so fundamental differences can be noticed even by a broader audience and not only by the fans. Interesting thoughts, I tried, without going overkill, to

It is evident for me that no overdubbing on Ya Ya's was necessary. They edited some great moments of Mick Taylor and Keith, unfortunately. Well, no not really, they didn't touch the guitars at all except for some minor rhythm guitar of Taylor during Carol.

I support this idea. Especially the three concerts in New York in a boxset would be a document of music history. And according to some YouTube videos and some bootlegs other versions are even greater than the versions in New York. The guitar sound on this tour is unique. Sed cave (but beware)! No Sam Wheat bullshit, I'm willing to pay double if Sam Wheat doesn't mix the sound.

The 75 tour was the last tour they played SFTD without any samples and without plink plonk Chuck, rough and dirty. This is the real interpretation of this song. I like 75 and 76 in the same way, Ronnie was on his peak in soloing. Ollie Brown and Billie Preston made essential contributions. Without them no medley If You can't Rock Me / Get Off of My Cloud, a gem in the catalogue.

What stands out is the outstanding sound quality. I have never heard the Beatles so powerful. Why is that not also possible with recordings of the Stones? Instead, we've been getting the Sam Wheat crap for years. Most recently he screwed up Wembley 82. Miami 94 is an outrage. And Atlantic City is anything but good! Quoteexilestones I love the LA '73 No Expectations! Oh yes, a better rendition, Keith's phrasing is very interesting and musically far above the Hyde Park performance. Mick Taylor is his majesty as usual.

A very nice song with the last notable work of Brian Jones in the studio. Mick Taylor plays a nice solo, but the out of tune guitars are unbearable.

QuoteWitness QuoteRip This QuoteDoxa Quotewaterrats QuoteTestify I liked SSS, glad they played it is a song that I love. Listening again from the video posted above, it's not even that bad, some inaccuracies that the Stones usually do especially on songs that don't often play live, but all in all I liked it. So do I. I guess, nobody expected that glitch during the song, at least the

QuoteGasLightStreet Quotewaterrats...Then, they play SSS and Keith completely misses the right key for the solo. The only thing that really puzzles me here is the fact that he didn't change his playing on the fretboard at once but kept on playing the wrong notes. Just like he had no good monitoring on stage and couldn't hear his own playing, but this I can't imagine to be true. Not

QuoteRambler62 They have no good sologuitar player.A guest musician would be helpful (e.g. Waddy Wachtel,Earl Slick, Mick Taylor)Greetings They have extremely reduced solos over the years. Then at least the solos they play should be good or at least conform to occidental harmony theory. I would be happy if Mick Taylor was back, but to play halfway coherent solos, the skills of Keith and Ronnie

Overall, that's a bit much screwed up solos. Ronnie has been screwing up Start Me Up and Tumbling Dice for years. That's only music to a certain extent. Doesn't even stand out anymore. Keith keeps screwing up new songs. I really don't find that amusing. I don't think the band should be given a gaga discount.

I have listened to the new songs several times now. The highlights are undoubtedly the cover versions. Of the original compositions, only Fast Talking Slow Walking is worth mentioning. This is the only self-composed song that has a certain musical architecture. Everything else are arbitrary chord progressions that could be different, and a lot of Jagger noise that could be different, too.
