Very cool to see Mick with the SG again!

I liked this release, always will, but it seemed slightly redundant coming so close to the Hampton release. That said, I actually prefer Hampton. It can be said that Leeds finds them tighter, sharper, and more well-oiled - they're like a freight train. But I sort of prefer the slightly sloppy, slower-paced Hampton. Maybe it's just because it's what I grew up listening to. I already

After listening 2 it twice, it almost seems to have an early -80's Blondie vibe to it (with a modern edge of course, and still surprisingly faithful to the original).

I've always liked her music. I am sure she's not for everyone on here, but I dig this interesting cover.

Really great, energetic "Brown Sugar". And the new guy seems to have finally made the sax solo his own but still keep plenty of Bobby's key bits. I can't believe how consistently good they've been since they returned to the stage in 2012.

I definitely say yes. The drop in quality I witnessed on the ABB tour from previous outings was huge. I really thought they were done for, and the bootlegs I listened to didn't deter me from thinking that. However, the show I saw on the Zip Code tour this year was wonderful. They sound reinvigorated.

Texas '78 and Miami '94 are both great.

Thanks, Happy24! I don't post on here with the frequency that I used to, unless I feel really passionate about something and want to say it.

Cheers naturalust and papo. I fear it as well, the idea that these guys are trying so hard because they know the end is coming soon. To use a very cliched phrase, all good things must come to an end, right? On the bright side, at least, should this be the beginning of the end, we get the Stones as f**king warriors as opposed to tired old dogs that needed to be put to sleep (which is what they sta

For me, Nashville - a sublime version of "Far Away Eyes". Brad Paisley joining them to trade licks with Ronnie on "Dead Flowers". Also, my ex-girlfriend was my date as I promised her when we first met that no matter what, if the Stones came to town I would take her. I keep my promises, and watching her bust out with joy at the end of "Gimme Shelter" had me grinning f

Thank you and cheers roughjustice, and I stand corrected, More Hot Rocks - though the minor location specifics aren't really germane to my original post. What I was really getting at (I was kind of in a buzzed fog when I made my original post), was that they sound HONEST again. They're really interacting, and no longer does it feel like - with all due respect to the man as I honestly do

I just wanted to share a few thoughts with some fellow fans. I am younger than some of you, older than some as well, I'd imagine. My first show was October 1997 during the Bridges To Babylon tour. The closest I'd come prior to that was 1994 when my dad, as an early birthday gift, bought me the pay-per-view of th Voodoo Lounge show from Miami, FL. I thought both amazing. I have seen ever

QuoteSharksWillCry I QuoteNaturalust I'm just hoping we get a proper DVD/CD release of this soon because I'm just getting too spoiled to subject my ears to bad sounding audio, no matter what the content is or the quality of the performance. SF is one of my all time favorite records and this is difficult to resist. I don't think you can go wrong for $10, no matter how brickwalled

I have to agree, the show I saw 3 weeks back had Ronnie in excellent form, ESPECIALLY on Midnight Rambler.

That's what I was saying. No Security was probably my favorite modern-era Stones tour. Those shows were awesome. But what they were severely lacking was Ronnie. I still remember getting a bootleg from that show taken from an assisted listening device, and Keith's guitar was basically cut out of the mix, and it made me realize how little Ronnie was playing. It was basically Mick, Charlie

I do agree with some of your points, EasterMan. I am noticing Charlie being a tad more off than in the past. I actually think Keith is playing more strongly than he has since the late 90's, however. My only qualm with Mick's vocals would be that he's singing in a more nasal register than usual, it would seem. That said, you noticed the same thing I did - that renewed energy, that v

I have been pretty critical and sometimes doubtful of the Stones these last 15 years or so. But I have to be honest, starting with the 50 and Counting, to the 14 on Fire, and the current Zip Code tour, I think they're easily the best since the No Security tour in 99. I honestly thought they were finished after the mostly abysmal shows on the Bigger Bang tour, but they have returned in a powe

I'll say more tomorrow, but this was one of the best Stones shows I've seen. From the opening of JJFlash they were like a damned locomotive. The guitars were LOUD, Keith was in great form and Ronnie was fantastic. The version of Midnight Rambler had that sleazy 1976 vibe to it. What a great show, it exceeded my expectations. Oh and of course, Mick and Charlie were amazing as usual. Than

Man, I'd forgotten how lovely that Roseland performance of She Smiled Sweetly was. Why did they never do this again? I'd take that over the 1,000th rendition of It's Only Rock'n'Roll any day.

QuoteBluzDude Looks like Steve is using one of Mal's guitars Their producer said a couple of months ago that Steve is using Malcom's exact set-up - guitars, amps, etc. - to stay faithful to his original sound.

I am following the consensus. Like so many others, I started with the wonderful Hot Rocks. 40 Licks did a fine job of representing 4 decades in two discs, but GRRR (stupid title aside) is a solid, comprehensive retrospect. The 50 track version is a fine entry point.

Quotetreaclefingers QuoteDandelionPowderman Bill was great for the Stones, but using a different bass track doesn't mean that he was under-appreaciated in any way. When you're focusing on making the best album possible, you'll make decisions you think will serve the album best. Only VERY FEW times were his tracks wiped. Some times he wasn't there. Exactly...and here are the

He was great on Fallon. As the new song, I think it's catchy but forgettable. Nice Wings-y sound I guess. Buying the album anyway, of course.
