which one would he have done? I reckon Shine a light is a good one, Wild Horses and Miss you also. Perhaps none of the 'drugrelated'songs like Brown sugar and Sister Morphine....

That's funny! I think it's actually one of those 'urban legends'. Found this site where it's mentioned: Also on that page is a story about Ron Wood lost a chance to join the Rolling Stones in 1969 because he missed a phone call.....Anyone heard of that?

There're some great bootlegs of the Red Devils and Lester Butler. An overview can be found here (menu Music). I've got several of them; especially the The Red Devils at Moulin Blues in Ospel '93 bootleg is great! Saw Lester Butler at one of his last performances in 1998; chilling and terrific..... Just in case you're interested; the Lester Butler Tribute band (with Edd

Spielberg once said that to ask about the price of a (movie)ticket is the wrong question. The question should be 'is the movie worth the price of the ticket' wich has been - in case of the Stones performances - certainly been so consider the shows the've done to my opinion.

Not my first but a special one: 13, featuring Lester Butler in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, January 29th 1998. Price: free (birthday present) :-) Got a chance to talk with him also. Very nice guy; to bad he's gone. My first one was - as I recall correctly after all those concerts - U2 with B.B. King in Rotterdam in January 1990. Price: something like 40 gulden (wich is about $50.00)

You're absolutly right, almost forget about that one! Three corn patches has to be one of the worst songs ever written by Leiber and Stoller. Still, Promised Land does make up for it. Also worth mentioning is the FTD release Polk Salad Annie wich contains live performances (mostly) from the midnight show on February 15, 1970 and some bonus tracks from other dates.

One (come to think of it, two) of my favorites has always been the Essential Collection and more specific vol. 4 and 5. A Hundred Years From Now - Essential Vol. 4 contains 18 previously unreleased versions of the recording session in june and september 1970, including a great version of I Didnt' Make It On Playing Guitar and I Washed My Hands In Muddy Water. All together in a brilliant

Keith Richards appearance in the second Pirates Of The Caribbean sequel descended into chaos after he reportedly got so drunk on the movie set, the film's director had to prop him up. The hellraising Rolling Stones guitarist finally shot his long awaited cameo as Johnny Depp's father in Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End earlier this summer, but he is unlikely to remember the

Elvis yeah! What about the end of Mystery Train where he screams out and almost erupts in nearly laughter. According to good 'ol Sam it was because he thougt he'd screwed up. According to A. Goldman (who?) it was beacause some girls sneaked in and start screaming.....

Saw Lester Butler years ago perform in a small club with his (then) new band 13 (check out their cd). Brilliant, hard-rocking blues. Spoke to him actually. To bad he died of an OD a couple of months later. There are various cd's available of the famous bluessesion with Mick Jagger and the Red Devils. The ones I've got are pretty good. I got my eyes on you and Blues with a feeling are

Just thought of something. I'm also a big Elvis-fan and I've got a couple of cd's from the Follow That Dream Elvis Collector's Label; special (re)issues of cd's from Elvis that are generally not part of mainstream RCA/BMG. The content of the cd's varies from outtakes to live-cd's and extended versions of the originel issue's. Most of it is brilliant; lots o
