For my first ever rock concert in 1969 (to see The Moody Blues..ha!) I spent the night outside the theatre ticket office with several dozen others to be sure of a ticket. For my first Stones concert I remember sending a cheque to Wembley Arena (the the Empire Pool) and waiting a few weeks before I knew whether I'd been successful or not. These days thanks to improved technology we'

I've heard the Pilot Inn is a good pub, but can get very crowded when there are concerts on at the nearby O2...lol.

I was fortunate enough to meet The Wondermints backstage after one of the superb RFH concerts on the 'Pet Sounds' tour of 2002. At that time a frail Brian would avoid crowds at all costs, and sadly I never got to say thanks to the great man.

Was a big fan at one time, but don't have high expectations of this reunion. Been a long time....

The Wondermints are an exceptionally talented band, God only knows where Brian would be without them (though his instrumental contribution is minimal, his singing was stronger this time round than on the last couple of UK tours). And Pet Sounds might just be in my top five favourite albums of all time.

I am an Englishman, over 50 years of age, and I often wear a baseball cap during the summer months. Many of you are now wincing at the very thought of it. Why do I do it? The cap covers my almost bald head, so protects from the sun, and the protruding peak shelters my eyes too. It folds down so uses up little space when travelling, and can hide small cameras when passing security! It

I went on the 13th. Never listened much to his stuff, and realised afterwards there were perhaps three or four numbers I recognised, but could only name one...ha! A terrific 'show' as a spectacle, he's a good guitarist with a great backing band. Can't say I loved every bit of it, but he draws you into his weird and sometimes wonderful world. Joined by Elton John for

Great photos bv. Those Brazilian air hostesses sure make a visit to South America desireable..lol. How about setting a quiz for us to try and identify some of the less obvious locations? When I travel for a Stones concert, I usually stay at least a couple of nights, rather than just an overnight. To travel is probably the best education anyone can have, spending a little more time in some

I have no way of knowing whether Keith was pissed or not, but from a performance point of view I didn't hear a bad note from him, or anybody else, throughout the entire concert. Clearly he's struggling at times, and poses as much as he plays, needing others to fill in for him from time to time, more likely he's suffering from the arthritis rather than the alcohol. Had a grea

The O2 is the name of the venue (that used to be known as the Millenium Dome), and the O2 Arena is just one part of the venue.

to give some idea of the size of the complex, here's a few facts taken from the official website: * The O2 has an overall diameter of 365 metres, an internal diameter of 320 metres, a circumference of a kilometre and is 50 metres high at its central point * The twelve steel masts are 100 metres high * If you turned The O2 upside down, ir would take Niagara Falls 15 minut

Do NOT under any circumstances consider hiring a car whilst in London, you'd be crazy to do so. The problems regarding transport, specifically taxis, after one of the Striband, or whatever her name is,concerts last week was due to concerts by Joss Stone and the British premiere of The Simpsons film talking place in the same venue. Making sure you're in time for the last Tube is th

I would urge all visitors to check out this site before travelling To London: I'm also copying over from the Shidoobee website some public transport information I posted some time back: "London has a complex ticketing system for public transportation, so it's worth checking the official website www.tfl.gov.uk If you will only be travelling after 09:30 in the morning it

...standing in line at the checkout, they played YCAGWYW, to customers, seemed appropriate as they didn't have what I went in for. Could it be that the Glimmer twins, rather than at the Chelsea drug store, were perhaps in a similar situation when they chose to write this song?

Yes, I like these atmospheric shots too, I'm sure the band were uplifted by performing in such magnificent surroundings instead of a largely black void they normally play to during night time shows.

The only potential problem with the Pilot Inn is that it's not a big pub, and if it's lousy weather and there's a lot of us, there doesn't appear to be any real alternatives close by, other than the numerous bars/restaurants at the O2 itself.

The O2 doesn't have a curfew as such, concerts generally finish by 11pm latest to take account of the present limited late night public transport options. The concert on Saturday had a support at 7.30 till about 8.20 and the headliners from just after 9 to around 10.40. I'd expect the Stones to be onstage 8.45ish, probably a bit earlier on the Sunday.

Thanks Beast for the setlist and review, I'm sure Keith (assuming the style of Engelbert) meant you and BRQ when he referred to some 'special ladies' in the house tonight. How's the grub in the Inn? 'little red chicken in a basket?'

Wilhelm I both live in London and think the Counterfeit Stones are great fun. Unfortunately, I'll be away from London from the 20th and 24th, so cannot take on responsibilities of trying to make this happen. Realistically, I would think it's probably too late to get something like this arranged at such short notice. Look forward to meeting you this Friday afternoon. woo hoo!

I was briefly at the Pilot Inn on Saturday night and I think it would be just fine for a pre-show meet. Not too big inside, or in the nice garden at the back, it does have the advantage of a large open green space across the quiet road from the pub, so can cope with large numbers, so hopefully it stays dry. It's a 10 minute stroll from the O2. when leaving North Greenwich tube station hea
