It's just like picking up women, to get 4 you have to go after 10. To get an LP of 14 songs or so they would need to work on 20 or 25.

I'll bet with a little planning and prerehearsal on an agreed group of say 20 or 25 songs, they could bang out an album of 15 songs in 2 weeks. The Stripped Japanese studio sessions consisted of only 3 days in March 1995 and look how many songs they recorded. No one is expecting a masterpiece at this point, just a fun simple party record. After all they are the ones who said......It's O

You are right Stones Tod, the legacy will be preserved if they never played another note.

There are 2 points of view here. One is that anything the Stones do must be an attempt at artistically improving their legacy and at the least maintaining some attempt at living up to their past achievements. If you look at their track record though such as A Bigger Bang (which I liked by the way) or many of the live shows of that tour, it was pretty clear that there isn't going to be anothe

So maybe Stones fans are too fussy. So you all didn't like You Win Again, Talahassee Lasse, We Had It All, I Ain't Signifying, Little Baby, etc? All covers, all great.

What would the Stones have to lose if they put out a quickie record of mostly cover songs to commemorate their 50th anniversary? It could be similar to their first several records which were all quite good. One idea would be to recreate their set list of the very first show on July 12 1962. Or they could re-record their first two demo sessions You Can't Judge A Book, et al. Other major arti

Best live album..............Get Yer Ya-Yas's Out! Then .................A Brussels Affair! Then...................Stripped followed by Some Girls Live In Texas. After that maybe Love You Live but mostly for side 3. Then the quality deteriorates from a musicianship and production standpoint. I would then say No Security, followed by SAL and Flashpoint and Live Licks. One of my least fav

The previous Weissbuch mentioned Version IV dialogue end mono mix. I know it exists but don't see it listed in this new edition.

I would welcome at this point an album of some covers similar to the first 5 USA albums. All 5 of those stand up well and I rather enjoyed Stripped. Other major artists have done this without their reputations suffering. A win/win situation for the Stones and the fans. Maybe even bring back Bill and Mick T.

Make sure Dork Matthews doesn't ruin Memory Motel like in St Louis 1997 and Bono (pronounce BONO like Sonny BONO) doesn't ruin IORR like in Chicago 2002!

The original lyric "I'm making bets that you gonna get John Wayne before he dies" was probably considered in bad taste because Wayne died in 1974 if I recall correctly. That was why they changed it in the first place.

My biggest complaint is how they have maintained their archives. The Beatles 2009 remasters were a class act. Witness the minidocumenaries of each album, the Apple USB with FLAC files, the Mono Box. All in all superb. What did we get? Loudly compressed remasters in an ugly box. I'll admit, I enjoyed Brussels, the deluxe Exile and Some Girls and the DVDs put out in 2010 and 2011. I'll be

Do you suppose Cheetah was a relative of that chimp that bit the woman's face off a few years ago?

Did you know in real life Cheetah hated Maureen O'Sullivan.? He would always try to bite and hit her. When she was old she was on some talk show and they thought they would surprise her w Cheetah. All those years later, the monkey remembered her and he still tried to attack her!

Because a physical object is a thing of beauty. It is collectible. It is something that can be passed on to a child. Same for a book. Flickering liquid crystals may replace books someday, but the real things will always be cherished. What would you rather have Action Comics Number 1 (first appearence of Superman) or a reprint on a computer screen?

I just listened to Brussels again yesterday and to me clearly, Mick Taylor is the best guitarist to ever play in the Rolling Stones. If you want to talk excessive lead or lead fills just compare his playing to the bubble gum hair band butt rockers (big curly permanent hairdos wiggling their butts in spandex) playing everynote under the sun. Thank goodness Nirvana came along and blew them off th

If you knew them personally, you probably wouldn't love them so much. It's one thing to love their music, image, history, etc. It's another thing to deal with their egos, tobacco stench, etc. I have loved the Stones since 1973 when I was 16, but they are human after all. In fact other than professionally, they probably can't stand each other. How many of your co workers or bus

Route 66 was covered by Chuck Berry and that was undoubtedly where the Stones became familiar with it. They speeded it up similar to their treatment of Carol.
