I think the "troubadours" line is a reference to Ghandi, who was assasinated on his way to Bombay.

I'm going from St. Louis. It's a fun town, small arena, tix available. Bars on Beale are always hopping. Lots of musical history there and last show before break so maybe some cool cover songs or a special guest...

Heads up to all: Nice interview with Mick in this month's GQ magazine. Not advertised on the cover (which has a nice shot of Cameron Diaz), buried in the back.

Great song choices, band was tight, crowd was getting into it. All I have to say really. Well done, boys!! Highlights: Get Off My Cloud and Oh No Not You Again on small stage.

Yes, haven't heard Lisa air it out on Gimme Shelter for a while. It's time! (As an aside, having her sing on Monkey Man in 94/95 was great, wonder why they cut her bit in 02/03?)

I'm a big Otis Redding guy, but Night Time is a good one too. I really like Infamy a lot, I don't know why lots of people are down on it. I'd rather get How Can I Stop?, You Got the Silver, or Coming Down Again, but that will never happen.

Tough call on that one. Both would be great, especially if that means 22 songs. Chuck is from Macon, like Otis...

I was fooling around with Four Flicks trying to burn the audio tracks onto a compact disc with no luck. Anyone tried this? Can it be done? Thanks.

On Live Licks - an otherwise fine album - they edit out my favorite part of Rocks Off, the Sunshine Bores the Daylights Out Of Me lines right after the slow bit. This annoys the crap out of me. Why the bad edit??? It's a great performance of a great song that was simply butchered. If they needed 20 extra seconds to make everything fit, they could've taken it somewhere else! Oh well

I love Back of My Hand, but I think that songs just as strong were recorded in recent years but not released. The Storm, a b-side from Voodoo Lounge, is my favorite Stones song of the last 25 years. WHY DID THESE SONGS NOT MAKE IT TO THE ALBUMS? Frankly, I'm surprised Back of My Hand was not a B-Side. Good to see it make the cut and even be performed live. Check out these great, great so

Would not surprise me if they are holding the theater shows until the end to do all at once. There was rumors of this in '99, I think. Would be nice to see them storm through The Fox Theater in St. Louis, where Keith taped Hail Hail Rock n' Roll with Chuck Berry and have him on as a guest. By the way, I predict Sway debut for Madison Square Garden on Tuesday.

From now on, I'll only say positive things. The Stones can play six songs and leave - yippee. Otherwise, people on this board will just tell you to shut the hell up, it seems. Nice. Sorry for having a f*&king opinion.

The opening acts will soon be playing longer. With all the off days in the schedule and the ticket prices, you'd think a 2.5 hour show (23-25 songs) would not be asking too much.

No one seems to be able to match their prime years material. Fogerty, for instance, puts out nice songs now but nothing like "Bad Moon Rising".

I like a lot of latter-day Stones work, including A Bgr Bng. However, my point is that they haven't given us anything close to the work from '68-'72 since then and, doubtless, never will. Those waiting for another Let it Bleed will be disappointed - it will never happen. Those listening to the new stuff as a body of work unto itself are bound to enjoy it for what it is.

Speaking of songwriting only. Performances from the Stones and many others only get better.

QUESTION: What artists have maintained their creativity into middle age and late middle age? Paul Simon comes to mind with Graceland and Rythm of the Saints, although he collaborated with African and South American musicians. Certainly, Dylan declined, McCartney REALLY declined, U2 has never matched late 80's and early 90's work, etc. There is an established link between mathema

The list ain't exactly Hot Rocks, but I still like those songs. The first decade and a half of the Stones they were superhuman creatively, like Beethoven. Since, they've been very, very good but have been slammed because the songs are not superhuman. No band should be expected to put out Let It Bleed everytime. QUESTION: What artists have maintained their creativety into middle

I know some bands have released a series of cd's of different shows along a tour - Pearl Jam maybe? Wonder if there are enough fanatic bootleggers out there for the Stones to make money doing a similar thing? Would be fun. How many of us freaks on this board would buy up all 50 from the US tour?

Thinking of what a compilation album would look like (will never be issued, of course) for the much-derided era since Tattoo You. All together, would make a pretty great record, and a good career for most bands: 1. Undercover 2. One Hit to the Body 3. Mixed Emotions 4. Rock and a Hard Place 5. Slipping Away 6. Highwire 7. Love Is Strong 8. You Got Me Rocking 9. The Worst 10.

2970. Re: Infamy
Infamy is my favorite song on a Bigger Bang. I keeo playing it, fantastic groove. What's not to like? On the new records, the last, Keith song has been my favorite - How Can I Stop?, Thru and Thru, Slipping Away were all the best songs on the albums they came from.
