There can be and perhaps have been too much negativity about the change from Taylor to Wood. Some negativity is unavoidable, of course, Taylor was/is better than Wood. But, then again, Taylor was/is better than (almost?) anyone, so that's no shame.

Just play it, and notice how you get into a happy, relaxed mood as your mood adapts to the feeling in the music.

Mick Taylor is one of the main reasons The Stones played the best rock of all time during the tours 1969-1973. Mick Taylor is revered by many, and should be revered by all.

My first "meeting" with the Stones: My older brother had bought Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out!, and slapped his hand into the speaker to the rhythm of JJF. I'd never seen him done that before!

If you make a musical, my tip is: Check out the best bootleg versions of the songs - they are often much better than the official studio versions. The one who's heard the best bootleg versions, will never be the same person again!

My favourite on an official album: Sympathy for the Devil - Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! On bootleg: Gimme Shelter - London, September 9, 1973 And of these two? The Gimme Shelter version is to me rock music's "finest hour"!

Mathijs, you also turned down ABB after hearing four songs. It's okay to be critical, but wait until you have heard the album, and attended the concerts! I don't like that they re-release ABB with a few additions soon, that's money-grabbing. But, as always, it's hard not to love this band.

Perhaps the best photo I've seen of the Stones, is a photo from around 1970. They were on stage, Keith was wearing some insane sunglasses. Have you seen it, is it on the net? I also remember a photo of Mick and Keith on an airport or something, also from this period, and Keith again with sunglasses that oozes of attitude. Seen it? What's your favourite Stones photo?

Yes, I love DW, especially Hold Back and Dirty Work. If you don't care for Hold Back, listen to it once again, notice the "pressure"!

I think the best tour is 1973, but I also love 1969. The key words for 1973 are energy and Taylor. The playing in 1969 was more relaxed, but it was swinging lovely.

Exactly 32 years before you posted your question, on October 17, 1973, the Stones played the best rock concert of all time in Brussels, at a place called Foret Nationale. Pilgrims should go to Foret Nationale!

I can't imagine being so obsessed with any other artist/group than the Stones. It's like the Beatles, they simply made people more interested in music. Likewise, without the Stones, I would have been less interested in music. The Stones isn't only about "music", it's also the attitude, which makes people happy.

I like the live version of Memory Motel w/Dave Matthews, and so does Keith, as far as I remember. Since Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out!, this is the officially released live song I've enjoyed the most.

I think there were two concerts in Brussels on October 17, too, because my bootleg is from the 1st concert that day. "The Brussel concert was the same as ..." - you mean the same setlist? Oh, to me, the problem has been to find a site like this, not to choose between them. So I just "advertised" the goldmine! Other fantastic versions: Stray Cat Blues - March 13, 197
