I enjoyed reading the book a couple of years ago but I was disappointed by the movie.The décor(costumes, houses, gardens etc...) is superbe but to cast non french actors in a story taking place in France during La belle époque was risqué. It's like having a french cast doing a movie on the Italian mafia in New York. I couldn't get into the movie. My favorite scene is the one with Anita;

A couple of days ago I heard on XM radio ZZTop, Billy Gibbons talking about a possibility of him and the Black Keys recording together. I bought the CD "Ättack and Release" of the Black Keys after reading about it on this board and I like it. The song "Äll you ever wanted" has some Stones' grooves to it; there's a guitar lick that reminds me of Moonlight Mile. Good

I almost forgot how good that record was . . . Last listened to it 30 years ago and the CD version sounds amazing. One of my favorite Live album. A smoking version of Jumping Jack Flash and the rock and roll Meddley is just fwcking kicking major ass. Talking about guitar weaving, Johnny and Rick did it pretty well too. Also the best ever "Rock and Roll" shout yelled by Johnny to introd

Thank you Bassplayer617.That's awesome! Brian Wilson is a fasciting musician. His music can be very complex but at its core is still rock and roll music; Brian found the "fourth" chord and many more. Rock and Roll, Mops

I remember when I heard it the first time I listened to Bridges. I loved it right there at the first listen. As the song unfolded I was taken by it.Not normally how a Stones'song work on me. Usually it takes several spins. On that clip, the band is playing really well, I like it. Rock and Roll, Mops

I try to remain open to today's rock music. But I believe that the great rock and roll music has already be written and played. I have been a fan of rock and roll music(blues, soul, country, R&B,punk, reggae) for the last 38 years, and I get more excited when I discover an "old"song or an"old"band than a current one. I wish the best of luck to the young musicians out the

I hope the 2010 tour happens. I'll go and see a couple of shows and I am sure it'll be exciting. Why to wish that they don't tour? Just hope that you stay home the next time they play in your town. Rock and Roll, Mops

Great article. Well thought. I listen to IORR, GHS and B&B a lot. I like those records. More "pop" than "roots" but still very Rolling Stones. Rock and Roll, Mops

The thing is; is there $$$ in such a project? On one hand they don't have to go in the studio because the record is already there, but how much "Exiles" can they sell with a tour pushing the greatest double album in rock music? Jagger doesn't seem to agree that Exile is a great record, and that is a problem. Rock and Roll, Mops

Exile is a great record because the song writing is very good and it happens that the stones unfocused and chaotic times they were in while recording the album produced a collection of songs done in a diversity of musical styles, pretty much exploring the roots of American popular music. That would be great if the Stones could tour and emphasize that their long career allowed them to develop a l

Just read that Aerosmith is going to play Toys in the Attic in its entirety on stage on their tour. The Stones are rumored to go on Tour in 2010 and Universal Records is going to release Exile On Main Street at the end on his year. How much of a selling point covering "Exile" in its entirety on stage could be? If they brainstorm ideas and come up with a good concept for a stage and a sh

Mick, unlike Ron and Keith, can't fvck up on stage. He is the frontman, he carries the show and all that pressure requires to be very focused I supposed. Mops

The Stones played an amazing show on Feb 1 2006 in Baltimore. I am sure whoever was there would say the same thing; awesome show!So "Modern-Day" stones are like Old- Day Stones in that some nights they are really great but not every night. Rock and Roll, Mops

Happy Birthday Les! Although he has never trashed hotel rooms or held a bottle of Jack Daniels like others carry a Starbucks coffee cup, Mr Les Paul's contribution to Rock and Roll music was essential. His work on solid body electric guitar and innovative recording techniques such as overdubbing and multi-tracking won him an induction into the R&R Hall of fame. Mick Jagger is the greatest perfomer alive but when he is on stage singing and dancing, he doesn't seem "to connect" with the public. I have a friend who is a stones fan and she always gets upset when the subject of Mick's attitude towards his audience comes up in a discussion. She likes Jagger's performance but she doesn't understand why he ignores his public. I find that "censorship"of Starstar totally absurd; it's 2009 and they are still people deciding to change/erase words of a rock song. And to pick on a lit'l word like "pussy", it definitely takes a real cvnt. WTF!!! Rock and Roll, Mops

I prefer Sticky Fingers but considering the music that was made in 1986, Dirty Work was not that bad. It's rough and violent and the guitars rock. Not my favorite Stones album but I don't despise it. Rock and Roll, Mops

Will there be enough people in 2010 willing to pay to see the Rolling Stones on stage playing their hit songs? Probably;therefore, Mick will call Keith and Keith 'll agreed that yes,it's about the right time(myautobiographyiscomingoutthatyear) to do it again. That's the way it goes with the Rolling $tone$ Rock and Roll, Mops

The fact that the re-release by Universal records of Exile on Main street has been isolated from the other albums is strange to me. I just read in the last Rolling Stones mag that Iggy Pop "is planning to play shows to celebrate their 1973 masterpiece Row Power. Could it be that the Stones are also planning something similar with Exile for the rumored 2010 Tour. What do you think? Rock and

Were the 2 shows at The Forest Nationnale in Brussels during the 1973 European Tour filmed? One of those show being considered(by lots of fans) the best live performance that the Rolling Stones have played in their career that would make a cool extra DVD for Exile. 4 songs from the famous double lp were played that day; Happy, Tumbling Dice, All down the line and Rip this joint. For the DVD sound

Open-G wrote r my version, perhaps Nice Open-G. What is the chord progression? Ron and Keith are hilarious. I have the recording when they are in the booth, overdubbing backing vocals for that song. That was 1993-94, they sound like they had lot of fun, cracking jokes and finishing each other @#$%&-up thoughts;they were the Beavis and Butthead of rock and roll. Mops

I remember the Washington DC shows and that opener worked very well for me. The clip on the big screen built up the tension perfectly then here they were right there on stage rocking the JJF introduction. Openers are Rock and Roll "foreplay"; the good ones put us, the audience, in the mood but then the band has to deliver the goods. The Stones always do! Rock and Roll, Mops

"Let's work" the song isn't great at all. At the beginning of is "official" solo career, Mick decided to go "pop" and I think it is embarrasing in regard of what he did with the Rolling Stones in the 60's and 70's. But that was Mick in the 80's.He is really a man with different tastes and (we have been told) personalities. It is shocking that

Several references to the Stones on today's show. First Artie Lange said that he discussed with Fred about Exile on Main Street for about half an hour then later on Fred played Tumbling Dice from beginning to end with Artie raving about the song, adding that he also loved the version of it on SAL.He didn't refere to it by the movie title but the "Martin Scorcese's movie with
