Quotetimbernardis And what the hell connection is the guy making between the painting and the Staples Center show anyway? That the image was painted from a photo taken at this concert (it is of the four of them standing with arms together just about to bow)?? pleximan Each canvas print of "Forty Licks" corresponds to a specific show on the tour.

Looks pretty cool, and plays 13 songs. I kind of like the design of the older one better though.

Quotejamesfdouglas Led Zeppelin wasn't a unit? They totally were, I'm sorry. When listening to LZ1-IITOD, the wide range of styles indeed matches if not tops The Stones. I can't think of any earnest sounding Stones Reggae, and I still don't understand how some of the same-sounding 3-chord Some Girls songs are 'punk'. The Stones never were, nor ever could be conside

The Stones are by far the best band; with BAND being the key word. What makes the Stones so special is that they're at their best as a unit. The Beatles were pretty much 3 solo artists+Ringo. Nothing really wrong with that, but not really a band. Led Zeppelin, ughh. While I love Page's guitar playing, I can't stand Plant ad his shrill screams. Bonham was a good drummer but had

Quotestupidguy2 Very nice. Kind of gives you an idea of how great this song could have been live. Seems like it would be hard for a vocalist because of all the Jaggerisms and ad-libs, but this guy does a nice job of just singing it straight, and the guitarist has a mean Taylor-esque vibrato. They look like they got lost in the groove of the song....its melodicism, the tender lyrics, the atmospher

Jesse's a good friend of mine. We were talking Stones keys years ago, and Winter came up. I was glad to see it show up on the last tour. His new band, St. Marks Social is killer.

QuoteAmsterdamned A friend of mine owns a Gibson-SG (Imitation),tuning automatically, any tuning you want. Works perfect,if that's what you are referring to. No. She's referencing this . I've tried a similar one, and I didn't care for it. I'd rather just tune it myself.

Quotestones78 QuoteSonicDreamer Quotefiftyamp It's not surprising. They've stolen everything else. And the Stones have not plagiarised the Blues? Yeah, right! The Stones gave credit, except for Prodigal Son and Love In Vain, which were later corrected. Led Zeppelin on the other hand...well, Black Mountain Side still says that it was written by Jimmy Page, when it should say: Trad. a

QuotePalace Revolution 2000 Why so much hate for Plant? He keeps moving on; like the results or not, but he is surely not resting on his old rock laurels. Yes, he did re-do some old Zep songs, but in a very different mode. He turned the led Zep reunion down. I also don't get why someone earlier makes a point to say they have seen him in every act he has done in his career, but then cut him

QuoteEdith Grove Anyone remember the thread someone posted a couple of years ago about all the bees that were dying or disappearing? That poster was practically saying the end of times were here, that the world's food supply was in peril because bees weren't pollinating, etc. Last I heard the food supply is in pretty good shape in most parts of the world and honey is still relativ

Quotebianca It's a disgrace that a man that age is playing guitar in front of a paying audience. The only reason he is doing it is because someone who wants to make money is forcing his hand. I have never seen the man but I can guarantee you that at that age he is not a capable player, anymore. More like a freak show. Attention Keith and Mick: watch and learn. Hang it up with dig

I remember Chris Jagger giving Keith's solo club show(TOWN AND COUNTRY?) in London during the Main Offender period a crap review. He also was very critical of Jane Rose. He was pissed JR wouldn't put him on the guest list, so he went as Mick's guest. I can't recall which publication it was in, but he pretty much slagged off on Keith's voice and his ability as a front ma

You are going somewhere sacred. My favorite 'tourist' stop in Memphis. Check out a bar called Ernestine and Hazel's. It's an old converted whorehouse where Ray Charles lived when he was strung out on smack, The upstairs bar is right next to Ray's old room, and his old piano is still there. I played it on my last visit.
