When I listen to Loving Cup, I am amazed at Nicky's piano -- wow. MT may not have done that much on Exile, but he could apply to the R&R Hall of Fame for his bass on Tumbling Dice alone.

hospitalities? 1973 - no phallic balloon, no snake, no bridge, no backup vocalists.

Does Tarle's EXILE book shed any light on this?

I agree. I cannot believe that they will play only one LA area show (Anaheim). I hope that it does not depend on SF 2 selling out!

Haven't been to a Stones show on the floor in a while. Do people stand on their chairs, or does security keep you from doing that?

A better question is if I am going to spend $1000 to see the Stones, will I be happier at a theater show or a fanasylum package? It sounds like a lot of people have had a tough time at the theater shows (not being able to see).

I agree with the comment about the Stones on headphones. I was listening to Exile on my system the other day, and Mick vocal was dead center, but distant -- kind of buried in the swirl of guitars and piano. . . just the way it was intended. With headphones, I think the vocals are artificially prominent.

Yeah. This resonates somewhat. I am a huge Stones fan, am seeing them 5 times on this tour. I am older, I can afford it (not the $450 seats, tho), and to be perfectly honest, nostalgia is a big part of it. I would not even pretend that their new music is relevant. In 1973, when I first saw the Stones, they played 15 songs in about 80 minutes, with 12 of the 15 songs from their 3 latest album

Major cities are selling well or sold out (except SF, where they have 2 shows). Very good seats are still available in SF, Detroit, not to mention arenas in Denver and Salt Lake City. Some of the shows that are "sold out" have tickets available in all price ranges through etstours.com.

Is there an accurate price guide for the original US London pressings? I am interested in prices on the FFRR label pressings, including the "ears" label for the first album.

I have a terrific stereo system, and I was listening to the Goats Head Soup CD this evening, and noticed some weird things. For example, in the opening of "Angie" the sound field is breathtaking -- acoustic guitar is left, piano right, and Mick's voice is dead center; then, when the rest of the band joins, the piano suddenly shifts to the center of the soundfield, with the vocal a

I disliked Undercover when it came out, and really haven't listened to it since (same with Emotional Rescue). I thought it sounded like a band imitating the stones. Maybe I should give it another chance.

Hopefully, no one. I suppose first 5 rows will always sell at any price to crazy fans and rich guys taking out their whooas, but I am hoping that everyone else ignores the scalpers and they get stuck selling their tix below face two weeks before the concert. If you insist on paying four figures for your tickets at least do fanasylum.

Right. Rather than play 2-3 shows w/$150 floors. They play one show w/$350-450 floors/1st tier risers, and that's OK because only those that can afford it and true fans will go. Frankly, that sounds like the Three Tenors, or Barbara Streisand, not the Stones.

With all due respect, instead of paying $900 for two seats in the second level of MSG, aren't we better off buying two $160 tickets somewhere like Denver or Phoenix or Salt Lake City, and then flying to the damn show?

In the 7th grade, I attended a Stones show in January 1973 at the HIC Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii. I had a first floor side riser seat in the 7,000 capacity arena. ZZ Top (pre-Legs/Sharp Dressed Man) warmed up. The show was my first real rock concert, and it was so good that I can remember the set list to this day, and since then, I have been attending 15-20 concerts/year in an attempt to find o

I am an Amex member, so things were a little better. Saw 2 in Section 36, row D, and in Section 40, Row C, but they were $450 each and I just can't bring myself to do it since I paid $160 each for better tix in Fresno and Glendale. In fact, I also pulled two seats in the 200 Sections, row D, and guess what $450!!! F&**CK these prices. This is out of control. By the way, if you are g

I did not finish my post. I am wondering whether others here think that many scalpers have bought $450 seats in the hopes of selling them for outrageous prices, that will be stuck with them. I would like to go to a few additional shows if (i) I can get good seats, and (ii) I can pay below face on those top tier tickets.

I would not object to center section seats, rows 1-15 or so, being $400+; but to have Keith/Ronnie side seats in stadiums back through rows 20-25 being $400 (not to mention center section all the way back along the catwalk) is really a slap in the face. I don't understand who is buying these. I am a true fan, and I have enough money, but it just seems wrong to me. Instead, I bought the be

Actually, the IMAX DVD version (sound and visuals) is my favorite. Charlie saying "here we go", Mick covering his ears, the explosions, the crowd.
