QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotejohn lomax My objection to this stage is that it is cheap and tawdry and does not justify the high ticket prices. I remember Mick did an interview - around Steel Wheels or Voodoo Lounge - where he was saying that it was okay to charge a lot if you gave value for money with a great production, and so with the amazing Steel Wheels or Voodoo Lounge stage the high price w

QuoteFrogSugar Use this site to calculate the trip, here it says it takes 50min right now! It's the official Paris public transport site. It tells you the various options and times. You just enter either departure time or arrival time. Perfect, thank you!

Quotedcba Quotejohn lomax And what would be the best way to get there - metro or taxi? Certainly a taxi but given the chronic state of traffic congestion in Paris your chances of getting to the site of the gig in time are zero. Hahaha yep I think you are right!! No worries, you have all convinced me to change my travel plans so that I will now arrive in Paris with plenty of time to spare (a

QuoteMelBelli Quotejohn lomax I am disappointed because it looks cheap and is a step backwards. I appreciate that as it’s a fairly short tour they can’t have a really expensive stage but the 2014 stage didn’t look as cheap and had big screens on the sides - the screens on this one look like the tiny screens from the Steel Wheels era (without the amazing stage). And again, for several hundred poun

Hi everyone, I ah e a question about the Paris show at Longchamp. How far is it from the centre of Paris, and what time do you think the Stones will be on stage? The reason I ask is that I have a commitment that day in London and so I will be arriving by Eurostar at 19:50pm - will that give me enough time to get to Longchamp in time for the Stones? And what would be the best way to get ther

The thing is, I wouldn’t care about the cheap stage if the tickets were reasonably priced……

I just keep looking at it and wondering “who the f&@&k designed that thing”? Maybe it’s a bit like Stonehenge in Spinal Tap - maybe Mick had something else in mind and now he’s turned up in Madrid and this is what there is…….

I think the video screens on the side are a bit small compared to the 2014 ones….but maybe the screen on the main stage (ie behind them) will be bigger this time

Maybe they are going for a sort of Urban Jungle vibe - ie something that “works” in daylight……looks a bit Flintstones to me….

Man that 14 on Fire stage in Japan is super-ugly. I think it also really short-changes the fans - if you imagine that At the Tokyo Dome (which is massive) they’ve had the Steel Wheels stage and all the other great stages, and then they turn up in 2014 with that cheap and nasty monstrosity. I hope the new stage is good given the sky-high ticket prices.

There must be more to it - there was some interview with Mick recently where he was talking about designing a new stage for the tour so maybe it will be a bit more interesting than we think……

Disappointing - they should have just stuck with the No Filter towers and changed the video stuff

Definitely the worst stage ever was the one they used at the beginning of 2014 in Tokyo and Abu Dhabi - that was dreadful. Second wordlist only my view was the South America/Australia bigger bang stage

I still like ABB. I think it’s got some great songs on it. And it holds great memories for me because I had taken 6 months off and was travelling through Canada, the US and Europe. The album came out when I was in Toronto…. A few days later we saw the Stones at MSG and Giants Stadium, and Paul McCartney at the Fleet Center in Boston. Then we headed to Europe and drove all around, and ABB was the

There is also the Nando's restaurant in Richmond (just near the bridge). In the 60s this was a coffee shop called Auberge where the band would hang out before/after Eel Pie gigs. And if you walk across Richmond Bridge to St Margarets you can see Twickenham Film Studios, where the Beatles filmed Let it Be. Also, along the river there is where the Beatles did a photo shoot in 1969 (the o

Just bought a Golden Circle ticket for Liverpool - £188, which is a bit of an increase since 2018. For Hyde Park I am thinking about getting a Diamond pit and hotel package - not cheap at around £600…… although I have already booked a cheap (refundable) hotel so maybe it would make sense just to try to get a diamond pit or gold circle ticket….. The Hyde Park shows are fun but they are massi

QuoteRockman Warren McKay -------------- Basement News #18 --- April 1997 Great story Rockman. Interesting about the girl knocked unconscious by a full beer bottle. My cousin was at that gig and, while lining up outside waiting to get in, his friend was hit in the head by a flying beer bottle and was also knocked unconscious. My cousin was then faced with a terrible dilemma - to go with hi

Yes, definitely understandable. I am amazed that he was able to do such a great job of filming t

On my Facebook feed yesterday there was a post from Associated Press with over an hour of footage from the 1969 West Palm Beach festival, with about10 minutes of Stones content at the end (it is the footage used in the Days of Rage documentary). It includes audio as well. Songs shown were JJF, Strat Cat, Midnight Rambler, Live With Me and a bit of Little Queenie. Did anyone else see this?

There isa new Stones documentary called "Days of Rage", all about the Stones and the lead up to Altamont. There is some brief footage of the band live in 1969 that I haven't seen before and I am pretty sure its from Miami, because Mick is wearing the same outfit that he wore at Altamont and as far as I know he didn't wear this anywhere else in 69.
