The intro to SMU was certainly a bit strange....its a really easy riff so can't see how he messed it up. I think it must have been his scarf....but it didn't matter, most people didn't notice. I thought the sound was excellent. I as in T3, about halfway back. The sound could have been a bit louder, but the clarity was excellent. Probably the clearest sound I've ever heard i

Totally agree -great band. I discovered these guys last year when they played on the Jools Holland show. Have't seen them live yet but will get my change this June when they play the Hard Rock Calling festival with Black Crowes and Springsteen (what a great lineup!). I also bumped into their bass player last year at the Werchter Festival in Belgium when I was there to see Pearl Jam. He was

I was at the Sydney show. I was 17 years old and went with some guys from school. We were all huge Stones fans but we truly believd at that time that the Stones had broken up and so Jagger solo was the next best thing. We were right down the front, and it was great to see Mick....but we hated Jimmy Rip and his Keef impersonations. It all looks really dated now..and quite lame

they are inflatable. just before gimme shelter they were deflated and then lifted up to the ceiling. however at the second london show they got stuck and so they did gs with loose deflated lips hanging over the stage. also, at the first london show they had inflatable teeth but in later shows they just used videi screen teeth.

Interesting. So 38 million altogether, with 25 million going to the Stones, leaving the promototer with 13 million. I wonder how much the promoter had to pay for the venues, marketing etc?

I live in Twickenham and just received the January Newsletter from Twickenham Stadium. In the calendar of events for 2013 there is listed a concert on June 1, details to be announced soon.....could this be the Stones?.

I must confess that I got a bit teary-eyed in Midnight Rambler, and I also felt a bit emotional and really proud of Keith to see him play and sing so well after so much slagging off (and I admit that I had slagged him off a bit....was really happu to be put back in my place on Sunday night and again last night -THE STONES ARE BACK!!!

That was a great show. I bought two tickets on the pitch in the first row of the C section, which was basically front row of the b-stage......the price of the tickets was £60!!!

Agreed. I thought the playing was better the second night but there was more of an atmosphere of celebration on the first night. Both were exceptionally good!!

I thought Midnight Rambler was great on Sunday and even better last night. Mick's playing last night was superb. I have seen 30 gigs since 1995 and these shows are up there with the best. The band seem really tight and focussed - and they know that they are good, so that confidence shines through in their playing.

The sound quality at the O2 was fantastic - I was on the floor in section A1 and I thought it was one of the best shows for sound quality thay I've ever seen. Not sure how it sounded further back or higher up, guitars and vocals were loud and crystal clear. Keiths guitar in particular sounded great - loud and powerful.

Yes, I agree with you. I have been to lots of great Stones gigs and paid reasonable prices, so these current hihh prices are hard to take. But I think what has happened is that the Stones have simply told the promoters their price (ie £4 million per show) and its then been up to the promoterd to make the economics work. four shows in 20,000 seat arenas means 80,000 tickets with an average price o

Ticket prices are as high as the market will bear. If they are too high, then people won't pay. But it looks like plenty of people are prepared to pay those prices, and so I think that the Stones and their promoters hVe judged the market well. I wish prices were lower, but thats life. The Stobes aren't under any obligation to perform for free or at some knock- down price. They are a hi

There is a version of Brown Sugar on you tube that is apparently from the rehearsal with Bill. It sounds great - Keith is playing well and Bill's bass sounds great, as does Mick's vocals. If it is genuine, then they seem to be on fine form, so maybe these shows will be worth the expense.....I mean, they are overpriced but crazy fanatics like me will still pay...so maybe the Stones have

Me too. Block AI on Sunday, Block B3 on Thursday. Am now officially broke....But I am wondering - as they are only doing 4 nights, what are the chances of a longer setkist (eg 25 songs)??

Wow, how awesome is Ronnie's solo there!!! Ronnie is so frustrating - clips like this just prove what a great guitarist he is, but he can be so inconsistent live. Judging by his new TV show he is totally cleaned up, healthy and playing great, so I have absolutely no worries about him. Keith, on the other hand.......

I have been going to concerts since the mid-1980s and have played in bands - I can honestly say that I have not heard any improvement in sound quality over the years. In terms of Stones shows - the B2B tour had fantastic sound - by far the best sound of all their stadium tours as far as I can recall. I also remember the that the No Security tour had great sound (I saw them twice in Boston -

Man, have to agree......Mick was great. Keith, on the other hand, was like some old drunk singing in the pub. Played next to nothing on the guitar. Really hope he can get his act together before they tour - I want the tour to be about the music and about seeing a band that can still play. I'm not interested in going to see some old museum pieces propped up on stage...So if it means that the

The very best in my opinion is Chandler's Guitars at Kew (catch the District line to Kew Gardens station). Just up the road from Richmond (Station Hotel, Crawdaddy Club etc) and not too far from Eel Pie Island. Its where I get all my guitars serviced.

I completely agree with you Jeroen - although I am a fan of U2's music, I think that Bono is a total hypocrite. Totally agree that he should put his money where is mouth is - do something useful with all that cash.

Where is this photo? I assume it is somewhere on the Australia/NZ tour, but it would be great to know where. Does anyone have any photos of the Sydney (Randwick racecourse) show? My uncle was there....well, he was lining up outside waiting to go in, when someone threw a her bottle that hit his friend on the head.....he was faced with a dilemma - wait around for the ambulance to take his friend to

No way, I am certain that Keith sings the backing vocals in Brown Sugar (but I do know that many of the later backing vocals that sound like Keith are actually Mick - Chris Kimsey said in an interview that Mick does a better "Keith vocal" than Keith!
