Bill is right. He's only honouring his friend Brian. He's complaining about the council's wording. He would also set the record straight if such a plaque were placed in his honour at Penge station.

Mick is no shrinking violet. He's making up for lost time during the lockdowns. Breaking loose - and great PR in the process.

Ronnie says in his book ' The Works' that he 'met'them all falling put of the back of a Transit van in the early days. Somewhere near the Thames. And it does look like Ronnie on that photo. Or Bob Dylan.

QuoteKRiffhard I really like Jordan's style. He has his own distinct trademark in the way he plays and is not a simple copy of our beloved Charlie. On the contrary, what i continue to dislike since 1994 is the style of Darryl Jones. He is a great guy, but for me he was the least suitable to replace Wyman. I can't even stand his solo on Miss You: useless and boring. How much i wanted W

QuoteSpud I hope it won't take too long for them to release a live show with Steve on record. It will be nice to hear and analyse the contrast with Charlie from that perspective. There are and will be bootlegs for that. No official live albums without Charlie please. Let them finish honouring him this year, and celebrating their 60th next. Thereafter, a three-Stone 'band&#

Steve might be doing some reinvigorating - as he himself might be getting reinvigorated. But I think the extent to which new life is in evidence is because of the guitarists - of whom especially Keith - and Mick having increased Mojo quotients - making every minute count. p.s. I do not consider the three remaining Stones a 'band' - or their extended and extensive 'family

Quoteerikjjf QuoteFour Stone Walls Are you wandering whether he plays sax? I admit, that surprises me. I can't recall any other examples of his playing sax. New Barbarians. What, live? Same year anyway.

As most other songs in his list. Noting the Flashpoint inclusions there. I heard YAGWYW from Flashpoint today and it was mighty, mighty fine. A much underrated and sometimes maligned live album that one.

I don't know if this has been said above but THIS is the album on which Scarlet should have rightly been released, not on GHS (on whose '72 sessions it never featured). On GHS re- issue we could have had early Tops and Waiting on A Friend and certainly Through the Lonely Nights

Let's hope for a 90th birthday show with Clapton, Taylor,McVie and possibly Wyman. Not sure which of his original drummers are still on the go. Ah, Mick Fleetwood of course! ( In Blues breakers briefly, no?).

I expect that Honky Tonk Women has been played at every show since '69. Ditto, but very slightly less, JJF And their hit from '71 which cannot be named must have been played at nearly every show since it's release until very recently.

Hey, there weren't warhorses before '89 at least - i.e. 75% of the show, or thereabouts the same predictable songs. The greatest-hits type shows perhaps started about then, but certainly by '94 - since when much the same formula has applied.

Quotedmay From reading the Guitar Player link I'd say Mayall is semi-retiring. That he's still out there at 87 doing his thing is pretty good in my book. His "The Turning Point" album is still such a great listen. Highly recommended if you've never heard it before. Blues from Laurel Canyon! And he's releasing a new album n January - take note Rhythm'n

Ok, calipowatsit, you want a European tour. You want nostalgic setlists but no Stones over 50 playing them. You want a cover band to tour? Or is the idea to have the existing touring ensemble and stage show and substitute younger performers for Mick, Ron and Keith?

Quotetreaclefingers QuoteRG Mick Jagger will always be my inspiration. He is just amazing. 78 years old.. can you imagine? The Stones are my parents age...there is no comparison. In fact, it's almost an argument in favour of abusing drugs for much of your life. That's right. Parents, they never listen do they?

QuoteIrix QuoteLady Jayne I got the impression Bill was quite hacked off at only playing one number last time round and inferred he wouldn't be doing it again. From : "Wyman documents the frustrations that followed. They began when he was told he could only play two songs at the O2. 'And they wouldn’t tell me which two,' he says, managing to sound both indignan

I'll argue the past elsewhere Stoneage. Really here to appreciate the present. I will say, though, that giving up smoking made a big difference. I think after '82 and before '89. He sounds good live in '88.

Mick was in worse voice from '75 to '82. And -75-76 he was not in great shape either. And he is far more dedicated and professional now than then. So much kudos. And especially under present circumstances.

He might even be mellowing (!) As long as his good humour endures. And take more risks Mick ( set-lists) - you always said that conservatism was the Stones'Achilles heel. Or play a gig at Stonehenge at dawn on the June Solstice. Or Something. New.

They could do a range of different sized venues, as per Licks. And maybe not only London Big Al, it could be the last time, and would be a very special time, so don't skimp on that. Give up something for a month or a year.Meat, alcohol ...... Vou cil Fax!

And also have heard the original Chi-litrsversion. 1970. It's on YouTube ( sorry, can't do link). An álbum track. It's strength is in the vocals, their build-up and harmonies. The pushing Motown beat too. And there is a whoo - hoo! But their song is upbeat. The Stones one just drags. Doesn't suit Jagger. Or he doesn't suit it. Just a strange choice. The piano
