Yes, the Stones should take note, but what they're probably taking note of is the agony Neil Young has gone through for the last 10 years, trying to get his 15 or however many CDs it's going to be box set completed. I can't see Mick or Keith putting themselves through that. The job of just listening to eveything they've done for the last 40 years, let alone choosing the best v

I had always heard that it was shelved because the Stones thought the Who had blown them off the stage. After watching it, all I could think was "What the hell were they thinking." As great as the Who were, there was NOTHING wrong with the Stones performance. They started strong and just got stronger. My wife, who was a heavy drug user herself at one time, took one look at Marianne

And here's another clue for you all: "everybody's jazzed" In '62, you bet they were. The British blues boom came about as a result of everybody, including Mick, Keith, and Brian, who were all living together at the time, in a "filty block of flats" with "trash on the floor", being sick to death of, and totally fed up with, traditional jazz. So

Well, I Googled "Profumo Affair" and I AM 100% CORRECT IN MY INTERPRETATION OF WHAT THIS SONG IS ABOUT!!! The bimbo is Christine Keeler and she DID sell her story to the Express newspaper. The story broke in 1962, so Mick is NINETEEN during the events he describes in the song! That changes my video. The movie marquee will have to say "007 IN DR. NO". One thing about

I'm pretty sure that Mick has matured to the point that there are a few subjects occupying his 62-year-old mind other than his girlfriends.

This is the first track that has "clicked in" for me. I can't resist the funk! Some real good creative lyric writing on Mick's part because the thought of him hanging out with some ghetto hooker is totally ludicrous. It could be that this is some vividly remembered experience he had circa 1964. The clue: "The phone kept on ringing". Phones don't keep on ringing

The idea would be to buy the shows you went to. Or if there was an exceptionally good show you weren't at, you'd want that, too. But no one's going to "collect them all".

I'm inclined to think there is something inherently wrong with any album that has to "grow on you". It should hit you right in the face the first time you hear it, and then, moment it's over, you should want to hear it again and again and again. You should not be able to get it out of your head. You should want to hear it over and over. Sticky Fingers was like that. ABB is

Some ominous stuff here. Anyone notice the Hand Of Fate on Ronnie's shoulder? Yes, I know it's Ronnie's own hand, but coming out of the darkness like that, it looks like he is about to be called away. Also the clock and the candle near Charlie. Symbols of time. Or lack thereof. You can't tell me they didn't put any thought into this. It's their first album in eig

Could the white light represent the Big Bang of the Beatles, with the Stones being the second, bigger bang? You have to know a little something about the Big Bang theory of the universe to be able to discuss this.

Could the white light represent the "Big Bang" of 1950s rock and roll, with the Stones, in a ring around the original big bang, representing the second, "Bigger Bang" of the 1960s British Invasion?

I was going to pick up the Sunday paper and check the circulars for the best deal, but was too cheap to spend $1.50 on a paper. Has anyone done the research on this? I know Best Buy had Sucking In The Seventies for $9.99 and Made In The Shade for $11.99 when they first came out.

Okay, I think I understand now. I couldn't hear Mick's vocals because from where I was standing the B-Stage guitar monitors were much louder than the sound that was coming from the main stage PA, and everything sounded a little "off" because the speed of sound is a mere 760 miles per hour and therefore takes two to three tenths of a second to travel from the main stage to the

Non-Scalper, I paid $225 for a 3rd row seat for the Who in 2002 and $200 for a 5th row seat (right in front of Neil's mike) for CSNY in 2000. Neil threw a drink at me. Twice. The punk. I still have the jacket I wore that night. It's all sticky.

But I'm assuming the REST of the crowd could hear the vocals perfectly, couldn't they? If that's the case, I don't understand the technical reasons why you can't if you're right up next to the B stage. It was pretty cool seeing them like that, though. Although the folks in the on-stage seats must have had fun, it was only during SFTD, when Mick went up on the plat

Last night in Detroit I was able to get to within about 5 feet of the railing at the front of the B-stage, and, although seeing them do Satisfaction in such intimate circumstances will be one of the highlights of my life, (I flashed back to seeing them do it with Brian on the Ed Sullivan Show) I could barely hear Mick's vocals. I know sometimes if you are at a club and you stand right in fro

Somewhere in the windmills of my mind I seem to recollect that Mick or Keith or somebody said this in reference to the '69 tour, and that it is the title of a bootleg of the Stones concert at Olympia Stadium in Nov. of that year. Or I could be thinking of something else altogether. Stones in Detroit: Olympia Stadium (an arena, actually, the Red Wings used to play there) 64, 69, 72 Cob
