QuoteJustin How dare the Foo Fighters and Arcade Fire play these songs with their own style and interpretation!! Artistic choice sucks!! How dare those who thought the version of IORR kind of sucked, express their artistic choice and preference.

QuoteGumbootCloggeroo ....My question is, how many of you can actually define "swing"? I'll take a shot at it....Charlie Watts I disliked the SNL version of It's Only Rock n Roll. I thought Jagger was great. I like the Foo Fighters a lot. Jagger singing It's Only Rock n Roll with the Foo Fighters, not so much. The drumming was wrong for the song (for the reasons

Quotestupidguy2 Quotesouldoggie I'm thinkng Mick could have at least quickly thanked Keith for writing tonights closing number for him and the cast to sing. You people are not only delusional, but adolescent. You sound like you've been shut off in your room listening to the Stones, reading about the Stones, obsessing about the Stones for the last 30 years. And you're still 14

I look forward to finding out what the hell happened the past couple of weeks between Jagger and Richards. No Stones? No Keith? Something happened, and whatever it was, it wasn't good. Were the words "Rolling Stones" ever even mentioned once? I can't remember. I sure heard a bunch of their songs. I'm thinkng Mick could have at least quickly thanked Keith for writing t

The Rolling Stones will be playing live on Saturday Night Live next week. This is just fantastic. The only questions are what will they play and who will be on stage with them. It will be a blast to watch and find out. There is absolutely no other reason that they are rehearsing songs in New York with Chuck Leavell right now.

I just looked at the Hall of Fame website. Without mentioning names, if those guys are in there, then these guys should be: Tommy James & The Shondells Blue Oyster Cult Albert King In my humble opinion. I did see that Freddie King has been selected, thank you God.

Quotejpasc95 Keith in 1990 Dollar to a doughnut says this photo was taken on August 23rd, 1990, at Wembley Stadium. That's the night the Stones went to Wembley to re-shoot portions of a number of songs for the "Stones At The Max" movie. Is that a guy holding a camera behind the keyboards? I remember watching them film Jagger doing his moves under the psychedelic lighting a

Ask me today what my favorite 10 Stones songs are, and I'll give you 10 Stones songs. Ask me tomorrow and I'll give you 10 Stones songs, but they'll most likely be different choices, except for maybe Brown Sugar. That song might make the list both days, but nothing's guarenteed. Tyler picked some good ones.

One should leave "I Don't Know Why" and "Sister Morphine" and "Prodigal Son" out of this topic all together. These were all initially published by ABKCO. In the case of "I Don't Know Why", Klein himself said that if he'd of known the publishing was owned by someone else....not him....he wouldn't have put it on the LP and released it as

QuoteGazza He's not really needed if the Stones chose to record some new songs anyway. He was only on half the songs on their last album, after all. I agree with your first sentence, completely. But playing bass on only about half the songs does describe several Bill Wyman era Rolling Stones LP's.

QuoteErrol Musically it's uninspired , has no melody One of Keith's most inspired compositions. I remember those days, a lot of people wondered if they had a hit left in them and we all thought he was going to jail, at least for a little while. And then he writes this. This most melodic guitar song with all of it's hammer-ons and pull-offs and muting and sliding and phrasin

Trying to figure out the lyrics of the verse that follows the Stu/piano - Ronnie/pedal steel instrumental breaks. Here's what I have, my guess's are bold in parentheses: I saw you in the Factory, like it’s some kind of (allergy?) Saw you in the back of Max’s Kansas City, propping up the bar on a Saturday Met you at the gallery, ended up in (anarchy?) You were spray painted, silk

Quote71TeleI think it's more like enlightened self-interest, but ok... Yup, that sounds about right to me.... My take on this whole thing is that perhaps the London meeting didn't go as well as Keith had planned. Perhaps Mick was a bit noncommittal, shall we say. So Keith has cleverly set this whole thing up as "...hey, I'm ready, and the bands getting ready, all Mic

QuoteMathijs First impressions... 'Do You Think I Really Care'...and there's an awful piano solo. Mathijs I really dig the piano solo I hear on this track, but then again I nearly always dig the piano on a Stones record. Just a matter of preference. No one is right or wrong, of course, though some have seemed a tad bit obsessed with their distaste for anything Leavell. I gave

Best Stones concert movie ever. And I've got 'em all and I saw most on the day of their release. Absolutely loved it. Keith and Ronnie giving it their all, and Jagger, doing his over the top punk/coke/sex/crazed-rock-star schtick. Mick the ultimate Agent Provocateur, to borrow a French phrase. Johnny Rivers showed up, very cool. I have tickets in my hand for his upcoming show on November 16th. Let It Rock.
